I made a small table out of figured cherry wood. It was very difficult to work with but when it oxidized it turned to a deep blood reddish color. It looks incredible.

Cherry is outstanding and it doesn't even need a stain in most cases.

Can use baking soda to age it faster. But it has a tendency to come out uneven. Especially if you have boards from different trees.
