    I love float fishing more than the carping, it makes you work at it more to get results, it’s harder now to catch a good size fish other than carp without working at it unlike 40 years or so when carp were almost impossible to catch, but specimen smaller fish are now almost unable to get due to the carp explosion and lakes being smothered in them for money

    Hi Graeme another nice video from the TA team. Nothing beats float fishing on a beautiful lily covered lake even if the fish are not huge. Surprised you hadn't met flying bream before it seems to be a common thing on commercial fisheries

    Locking shot ! Always used to use them but a pain if you want to adjust float. Recommend using the rubber float stops --chip as chips on ebay from china ..also good as ledger stops

    Hi Graeham, Loving the show man, brilliant videos, keep them rolling! Just wanted to say at 5:50, the fish your caught was a Dace and not a Roach. Difference is slight with just the fins and more importantly the eyes. Dace have yellow eyes whilst Roach have red eyes. ;) Just pointing that difference out because I catch Dace all the time here in HongKong, I don't think we can get any Roach in this side of the world.

    • @thomaskehoe6211
      @thomaskehoe6211 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Venom Blade it was a roach

    • @JayjayTang
      @JayjayTang 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thomas Kehoe dude. The fish had a pointy head and yellow eyes. It's a Dace. Do you know what the differences are?
      You tell from the colour of the eyes, the dorsal fins, and the head shape. But the most easiest one is obviously the colour of the eyes

    • @thomaskehoe6211
      @thomaskehoe6211 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Venom Blade you can clearly see from the fin colouration, the scale pattern and the proportions of the fish that it is clearly a roach. also, the Fishery does not stock dace, so it is not a dace!

    • @JayjayTang
      @JayjayTang 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hey I'm no expert. I'm a new fisherman myself, new to the game and new to the fishes. I'm only stating that the dace I catch here have yellow eyes. Online descriptions say dace have yellow eyes and roach have red eyes. If you don't believe me look it up online yourself the difference. I'm only saying from research not from my own experience.

    bream are shite fighters usually but I caught one once and I actually thought it was a small carp it fought so well, had a wind straight in the face and only bite indication was a swing tip blowing back into the blank so a straight pull was a bite and low and behold a hard fighting double figure bream!

    I have a question to ask TA, i live just opposite st pauls cathedral Thames, the water there is very quick and always wanted to fish there at high tide, what type of rig would u recommend, is this fishable and if so is it worth trying the spot, i would be fishing either by the golden hynde or little further up nearer the Tate modern, float ledger ? I have asked other fisherman on utube but he dousnt fish this far out. also very strong tide. thanks for any info and i really like your videos all the best guys. sam.

      Don't know the area.Suggest contacting one of the London fishing clubs who might know the score. Try clubs around the Kingston area first.

    • @johnloyd3996
      @johnloyd3996 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hi, yeah I dont know any in London TA, only place i have been fishing here is at surrey keys docklands, also at berges park, lol. May just trot a pike float and see what comes up, think a possible ledger may work all though the current is pretty quick there.
