They have a unique sensitivity and respect for other cultures. What’s important is that the temple is being constructed, established. Not what it looks like.
I am confused by your statement. If the church has a "unique sensitivity" to local culture, then why are they fighting local building codes in multiple locations?

There’s no contradiction in saying that “steeples are a part of our religious observance” and the notion that, depending on the location, some temples may not include steeples. If the residents of a particular community wish to challenge the height of a steeple, those challenges will be addressed on their own merits in each of their respective city councils. Presently, the Church clearly prefers to have steeples on their new temples, probably because it provides a more consistent look and more easily identifies these structures as LDS temples to members and non-members alike. The constant harping on steeple height is an ongoing non-story intended to simply cast aspersions on the Church for the benefit of clicks.
The height of temples has mattered for thousands of years since the time when temples were considered the tops of mountains. I guess in a flat place like Texas, where there’s no hills to build on, maybe steeple height matters.
Nemo, Nemo, Nemo. You are going to grow old way early as long as you cling to the notion that the Church is going to ever speak the truth, apologize for mistakes, or be consistent. So silly! And frankly, a bit embarrassing too.

Mesa, Arizona temple, no steeple.
The further from orthodoxy the more concessions churches make simple as that.
The height of the steeple is equal to the hight of bs from the church's history.
They will keep doing a lot of stuff, until they get punished.
They don't know what they are doing. They are contradicting themselves without realizing it. Or at least without admitting it.
No steeple on the Cardston temple either, in Alberta, Canada. 🤫
Steeples were never mentioned in my entire life from birth to 78 years🤔I couldn't find anything about steeples in the church library.
Brilliant observation Nemo! Steaples unnessary. Temple buildings also, Bible says believers are the Temple of the Holy Spirit. Not a building?
I have a personal testimony that steeples are real.

They can try, but they lost in the ECHR over the tax status of temples, so they don’t have a good track record over here
