That's not respect, labours are forced to work harder or overtime.......indian Private companies can be more strict and force them to work more harder if that's what most of citizens want .also pattern of wealth distribution in capitalist societies don't always benefit the workers, it's investors that are actually benefitted and it takes time to reach the poor the impact of better output through hard work.

Mr.Narayana Murthy, I think you forgot to take your pills. Next time please don’t forget! Do check the following points if possible,
      1. Stop comparing a democracy with autocracy, if you want autocracy then you know what to do, better leave.
      2. I think you are stuck at 1970s period, please snap out of it and go to your company check how many hours they are working for. On an average in a month we work for 12 hours and you pay for 8hrs! If we accept 14hrs + 3 hrs travel =17hrs then we get 7 hrs to spend time on ourselves + family
      3. I recommend you go to fertility centers, go see which age group are suffering with fertility issues (mid 30s-40s) and most of them are from your industry. Now, if you make 14hrs daily then you are killing 2 generations and making India as next China.
India will prosper in a long run and we firmly believe in that. People like you use these stages and manipulate the country. I think we are aware of the facts because we see ground reality. So, please go sleep happily in your home and thank you for your service to our country 🙏

India is obsessed with competing with China. I remember when China opened up its markets, it never compared itself to any country specifically. It was all about learning from the West and improving GDP, improving life expectancy, improving education. Fix your own problems first before competing with anyone. By focusing on growth, you will grow. China is actually more a natural ally than an enemy. I hope India learns this soon

I totally agree that Chinese and Indian economy are great supplements to each other. China can help India with a lot of the infrastructures and use the disputed area to trade. Both country can grow out of the grapple of western economy. Both countries suffered greatly from brain drain because they cannot provide good welfare to their citizens.

The nation is ensnared in a detrimental combination of socialistic tendencies, pervasive corruption at all levels, and a dysfunctional government, as evidenced by the disarray in parliament where elected representatives actively obstruct proceedings. As an Indian who came to the U.S. nearly four decades ago, I had high hopes of witnessing India evolve into a developed and advanced nation, akin to the significant successes achieved by Indian Americans. However, it is disheartening to see that vision remain elusive. I am profoundly disappointed in the current trajectory.

The US/UK/EU have been more socialist (generous) with their populations post WW 2 than places like India. Those peoples enjoyed more protections and safety nets. The key is to practice capitalism outside the country and socialism inside the country, which these countries have become efficient at doing.
Colonialism, military-industrial ventures, control over organizations such as the UN, World Bank, IMF, having dollar/pound as global currencies ensured low interest rates, access to resources and energy, and cheaper goods in those countries. Relocating polluting factories and industries, mining, manufacturing, drilling, extraction etc. to developing and underdeveloped countries ensures the first world citizens enjoy clean air and water.
On the contrary, India post-independence has been socialist only in name as most Indians were subjected to Darwin's survival of the fittest and left to fend for themselves.

Murthy said, “These (hub, global leader) are all big words that we shouldn’t use. China has already become the factory of the world. Around 90% of things in supermarkets and at-home depots in other countries are manufactured in China. They have six times the GDP of India. It is too audacious of us to say India will become the manufacturing hub,”

I respect Narayana Murthy as a visionary. But I have disagrements on many points he makes. Chinese GDP is 6 times of India is a question mark. Anyways, I do not want to comment on this right now. Infosys became what it is because many engineers in India slogged. I am software engineer who have worked in many established corporations based out of India. When I started my career in software industry 25+ years back, if somebody told India will be IT hub of the world then people would have ridiculed him/her. So it is all about time. I agree we argue because we are a democracy and not autocracy. It has its pros and cons. But democracy leads to consensus building which takes time. I agree with him that it is time for us to do hard work. But we should not discount the work our nation has done so far. It is my humble thought which I want to share. Once again hats off to Mr. Narayana Murthy for building Infosys into what it is today.

Mr Murthy is stating the facts before the audience; you can't argue with that. Our governance is very dismal and our institutions have been captured by fascists, who don't believe in the constitution and they have now promoted nepotism to such an extent that without the "right connections" you can't make a success in the private sector/manufacturing. Besides all the "under the table bribes" (overhead), now the Govt does tax terrorism, via GST, finishing off small and medium businesses. In terms of overall governance, rule of law, fair enforcement of laws ---we have gone back massively in the past 10 years. There is no accountability shown by the top leadership and bad governance is being covered up by LIES told brazenly even in the parliament, with absolutely NO CONSEQUENCES. India has now become even more dependent on china and cheap good being dumped by them in India.
