He’s a very “that’s fine”/10 as far as I’m concerned. Some quick and easy part swaps and he fits pretty much every legion. Instead of looking at him and thinking if I cut off a ton of details, swap the weapons, the helmet, and legs he’s a decent option really it’s the helm, the skull, and the banner that need removed or swapped out and he’s good to go. I doubt anyone will remember he exist a few months to a year down the line.
I like it but it really is just basically a Chaos Space Marine model from the standard 40k range, we gain what? a whip arm bit that we didn't already have access to
I will just add that the word bearers mk vi helmet is supposed to look like the diabolist helmet and the overseer is a 1-1 of the sons of Horus character ummaos ludarch from book 6
A quick correction too but he originally wore reaver style armour with an old school forgeworld upgrade SoH helm but later on got a redux in beta Garmon? And now looks like the demon visage overseer
Of all the available marks, 2 3 4 and 5 were better suited (read that gw tried to skirt this by using a supposed mk6 variant that dissappeared after the heresy to "soften" the backlash somewhat). They missed the mark with "rabble", south slavs have a better word(if traitor overseer is supposedly conveying his contempt for the lowly soldiery), unfortunately, the gravitas of the original gets lost in the translation (word in question is "stoka", lit. cattle, however it's usually used in context of "why we can't have nice things/they ruin everything", implying that as all unruly bunch of bovine kind, they(stoka) should be beaten into compliance). Helmet, as ppl said below/above, would work great for either word bearer or night lord, with a bit of kitbash(namely replacing demonic face with a draconic/serpentine one, could work for alpha legion as well, tho something tells me they don't use lashes upon their own mortal auxilia troops.
Hey Macca quick question: Do you ever think we will get an Imperial Army list some day? We have the first Line and the 3rd line but not the 2nd line troops. Also will you ever show us your Imperial Militia army someday?
I quite like this model, I like the mk6 armour with this model as to be honest it’s not slapped in your face, the chains and runes break it up nicely , I’ll be picking one of these up for my iron warriors army, I’ll be changing the head as I don’t think it fits a IW army but in the genera fit of the model it’s really well done.. More models like this please GW and less like the Loyalist overseer
I like the helmet a lot the whip is annoying though makes it feel like it’s leaning heavily on the EC weapon (would have loved it if it was styled a bit more like a world eaters guy)
The biggest issue with this model, is who actually wanted this? Surely GW would be smart enough to spend its resources producing kits that players actually want and need, but I suppose not.
@@morgymomo8535 yeah it’s one of those really weird ones. I could see someone new to the hobby just skimming the range a few years down the line and then seeing this guy and the loyalist and not giving a second thought to it.
I want to get into Heresy but nearly all the traitor legions feel so bland. This guy is nice, but 1 model for what looks to be an actual traitor who is starting to go towards being chaosy isn't enough.
I don't like his helmet, the whip is whatever and ultimately this guy is conversion fodder (probably for Blackshields). It's "fine" but nothing I have to have.
I actually like this mini. Looks like the image from the Beta-Garrmon book. I think I want to convert him up as a Chaplin for my Night Lords.
*_ Much* (much) *Better* than the ⚒️ Loyalist counterpart. (Which is just awful 🍅 ❇️
WHERE THERE'S A WHIP, THERE'S A WAY
My thought as well. I know the song, haven't watched the thing yet(heard there's more songs too).
@@ivanivanovic5586 Dont bother watching the film...just the crappy song.
I don't want to go to war today!
It’s not a bad Mini, but my brain once more goes “who…asked for this?”
People who want a traitor styled Overseer with a whip, probably.
Shhhh it’s here to give HH players the sense Gw gives a shit
@ I’d hazard a guess there’s far more people that want praetors for either the sallies, RG, World Eaters, Iron Warriors….
I like it, it shows the gradual morphing of the traitors to look like Chaos Space Marines
First impression - looks good to me. Not overly cluttered as new gw stuff seems to be.
Now lets watch the vid.
Amazing Sons of Horus model. One of the better sculpts as of late
Instantly thought "Oh cool! A new Word Bearers model!" when I saw that. It's solid.
2:15 I thought the same! That helm def gives those diabolist vibes.
Wonder if the head would be fitting for a white scars character - to me it has quite the oni feel to it ...

🐵🐵🐵"Where breachers?"
Love it! Can’t wait to add it to my collection
I like the helmet, would make very good conversion fodder for NL or WB.
love these videos
Definitely one of the minis of all time.
No tactical rocks is always a good thing!
My only little gripe is that it is mark 6 if it was like mark 2 or 3 it would look more intimidating, I refuse to get used to the mark 6 enforcement

I refuse to spend hours painting solar aux troops only to see them blown off the board by end of round 1. Ill get this for a cool chaplain.
Like a straight up 40k model

To qoute someone else: "He looks like Frank the Bunny."
On a morre serious note, it's really nothing more than conversion fodder.
Are you telling me it is 1:30 in the am on a SCHOOL night and ive only JUST begun scraping mold lines from bladeguard heads?! What the what?

I'm getting this one for my White Scars, much better than the loyalist one, helmet head will be donated to night lords.
cool 40k word bearer

They shouldve made it emperor's children

Been building up a lost and the damned collection for a 4th edition project, this model is perfect for a retinue champion/aspiring champion
