We bought our new home in 1971 and on the front door address plate they had that design. It was electric homes that were efficient and ecconomically on utility bills. The only gas we had was our heater.
The electricity medallion is made of copper and they were made only in 1952 and 53. I have a G.M. thank you token that is also from the time but made of brass which I found in my front yard a year back.
Nice finds JD! Glad to see you getting some silvers out of those yards. A lot of detectorists turn their nose up at 1940's housing but there is a lot of good targets to be found in the yards. Best wishes and HH, Dave.
Hey Dave. I'm happy to hunt these houses. As you know there was a lot silver floating around these working class family neighborhoods post WW2. Coin shooting isn't easy where I live currently, so lawns like this are my best option for silver in quantity. I focus on knocking areas close to civil war camps and skirmishes. With bullets popping up you never know what else could randomly be hiding down there! Any day you find a civil war relic and silver is a good one. :)
Nice finds. I going nuts here in Utah with about 6 inches of snow. Im having withdrawals not being able to metal detect. At least I can watch you, it helps a little bit. Have a great 2019.
JD I think small buckles you find in yards were from little girls shoes. I am almost 69 years young and my shoes had these buckles back when I was a wee young lass.
Funny how we can find a minea ball, three ringer clearly belonging to the 1850's but only find coins from the same area dating no older than the mid to early 1900's. Generation gap? Excellent video JD, enjoyed watching.
Yeah. In the skirmish areas there were many more bullets flying around than coins dropping out of pockets. lol. I haven't had good luck with civil war period coins in battle/camp areas. I've located a few camps around pre civil war homesites, but never found a period coin at them. At one camp I kept thinking I was going to get one because I dug loads of period lead and a general service button, but ended up with a 1905 indian head and a V nickel for the old coins. lol
Great dig! 2 houses on the same day!you had a spill kinda day! Love that you found a minnie ball wow! Im in the deep freeze here in mo. right now, so got my fix watching your video. Ty!
JD, you mentioned on one live dig that you did not bother with discrimination to separate out what might have been junk... do you typically operate your detector in all metal and then disc or tone out the target after you get a hit to see what it may be, or just dig it and see what it is? Maybe that depends on what md you're using... still learning the hobby myself, thanks!
Went on my first dig. Well not my own lawn first time. Found about a dollars worth of modern coins lots of scrap and a 10k ring, that fits my pinky. Thanks for the ideas and inspiration. Since I chose to do a park. There were a ton more signals but my trowel couldn't break through. Leaves some fun for when I get my good gear. Awesome finds bro.
Walking up to JD's door ,Knock Knock.Hay great to meet you mind if i dig all those pesky signals in your yard, you know the ones, the low and deep and bouncy?
I was out detecting in the summer and stepped in an ant home, didn't know it till they were biting the fire out of me! My signal was too good to stop searching! A few minutes later I was doing the ant dance!! OUCH LOL
Hi JD I'm new at this, anyone in Pennsylvania? Can I do well with just a hand held metal detector? What is your pointer called? Name brand? What is the shovel?
i find like the coins from america pretty boring to be honest its like only wheat cents and memorials and some clad and sometimes a silver here in the netherlands we have a wide variety
How do you get permission? Do people allow you to keep an old coin if you find it in their yard? Do they want something out of it? BTW We like your videos and we share the same faith in our Saviour! Keep looking up!
I love your digs and gem hunts, but do not care for rolled coin searches. Really quite boring and feel people do this simply to use 'chats' to get extra money.
No harm in content makers earning a few extra bob. They have to pay for their cameras and petrol and internet expenses, not to mention the hundreds of hours they put into it.
I may try and pop on for a live stream tonight. We'll see!
Great video. Good learning one.
Thank you JD for another great video.
Rock and roll JD! 😎🤘

Nice treasures
The metal piece with the 2 holes looks like a tap piece for the heel of a shoe. Guys in the 1950's use to put these on their shoes.

*What about the Key❓❓❓
Awesome
Not sure if it's been answered, but that unknown relic looks like part of a old wall coat hook

Nice finds also how is your t2 set up settings wise?
When I'm coin shooting I'm generally around 75 sensitivity (adjust as needed) then 49 disc and 3 tone.
