    As far as IEM's go, would IE600 range or above benefit from an amplifier? Does an amplifier purely boost the volume of the earphones? I am running them through my PC's USB via the Rode NT USB Mini microphone's headphone output and I'm probably using 10% volume. So I have no issue in that regard but I'm interested in hearing my IEM's, with the benefit of a $1,000+ headphone amp/DAC such as from Burson (though I still don't understand how you would connect it to your PC with no digital inputs?) but don't know if it would improve the clarity and enjoyability of the IEM's or simply boost its volume which isn't needed? I'm currently using Meze Audio Rai Penta and will likely buy the Sennheiser IE600.

      Amplifiers provide power, but it's not always more power that is the best. They can provide clean and very precise volume levels when working with IEMs and the like. You would be better off getting something like the iFi Hip DAC, the Chord Mojo 2, or the Earman Angel than getting the Burson for the IE600. The Burson Amps are in many cases designed for full sized headphones and would share a similar issue as the the Rode NT you are using.
      The units I mentioned above are also DACs and Amps which means they can accept a digital signal (for example USB.)

    I recently bought these, but I do not know if I need a dac/amp for them to be "better". In a generic way, how can someone say "yes this headphone will sound better if connected to a dac/amp"? People are always recommending some dac/amps but they don't really get into the "why you need them" story. (for more power, sure. but how do we tell if the headphone/earphone is requiring more power, and what dac/amp can allow the full potential) . Thank you 😊

      I have these running through a dragonfly cobalt DAC. Just from playing downloaded tracks on Tidal the DAC enhanced many things apart from loudness or power. It gives more clarity to each individual instrument along with a broadened soundstage. Just those two things give each track depth for example you not only hear the music phase from earbud to earbud but it sounds like it moves around you in a physical space.

    Great product presentation! In summary, the ie 300 is for kids playing hip hop or rock; the ie 600 is for musicians and sound engineers dealing with any and all material; and the ie 900 is for rich folks who listen to classical music.

    There are complaints that cable is bit microphonic. Can you confirm this?

    • @moon-audio
      @moon-audio  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We did not find this to be true. Usually microphonic cables happen more on Full Size headphones depending on the material used on the cups of the headphone etc.
