I work at a toro dealership and the 4000 and 4000 hdx series are one of the best mower in the line excellent quality and the Kawasaki engiens are very heavy duty never go with anything else
I spent the money in 2015 and bought a commercial grade Gravely and have had to replace one spindle. This place we bought in Missouri these people when they were done with objects they let them lay. Two weeks ago mowing a small pasture hit barb wire and it stopped the blades right now. With my heavy duty lawnmower Jack and a few minutes of removing the blades I was back in business. Love the zero turns,I had 2 of them and one lawn tractor and would always go with a zero!
Don't get too hung up on the spindles being aluminum housings. Keep in mind the commercial and professional spindles are able to be rebuilt rather than replaced. I worked at a place that beat the daylights out of a zmaster and did 0 maintenance for years and it survived. Keep a spare set of blades on hand and keep up on the maintenance, including the wheel drives, and you'll get many, many, years of service from it.
If you take the chute off the side it will discharge 10x better in the wet. Also they make a mount for a trimmer you can put on the mower to drive where you need to weed eat. Check it out!
I’ve been running a 27 acre field twice a month with mine for almost 3 years and have never had an issue with the aluminum spindles. I’ve never had any issues at all for that matter. I’ve got the MyRide version, which is the only reason I initially went with Toro, now I’m never going back!
You definitely made the right decision on mowers. I work for a municipality in my city and I have a whole fleet of Toro diesels. I would recommend a Toro Z Master 7500D for your property. The torque of the diesel is unreal over gasoline. Great video guys!
Id like to have been able to go with the diesel on my Toro 60” Z Master 4100 but the price difference was too great for me as a homeowner to rationalize.
That is a fantastic mower. I love the bouncy seat, I'll bet her back felt a whole lot better when she finished that cutting. She has that zero turn down pat as well. So happy for you both. A fine investment. Have a Blessed day.
I've only got a half acre and a Gravely 42" EXT but watching Rebekah has convinced me to get up now, and go mow, just for the pure fun of being a 76 year old, outside, playing on my zero turn every chance I get. An f-16 might be more fun but I don't have one.
Awesome video. I have a Z Master for 16 years and still mow great. Other than normal maintenance I have replace the center spindle. Toro has the best zero turn on the market, best warranty in the market. I retired working for John Deere and I still bought a Toro. There was no comparison.
I must tell you I am not a big fan of Toro products but that zero turn was a very good choice. I love your property too. Looks like she got that zero turn operation down pat real soon also.
I have a Ferris zero turn, they are absolutely terrible when it’s wet. I’ve had to pull mine out numerous times with my tractor. In fact I chuckled a few times watching you try to push it out and then ending up towing it.
My 2006 Scag Tiger Cat with the Briggs & Stratton engine was a disaster. Undersized starter would not start below 50F and then one year after purchase, factory scratch on engine split line caused the gasket to get sucked into the engine. Dealer and Scag were of no help. I ate the cost and had the local garage mechanic fix it. Gave the mower and leaf catcher to my neighbor for $1000 and he is still driving it with the starter problem. Loved the mower quality, so I bought another Scag with a different engine from a different dealer. I have a 2014 Scag 52" Tiger Cat zero turn mower with 26" tires and 27 Hp Kawasaki engine, steel spindle. Love it. Welded steel plate deck - not bent sheet metal. Tall grass - no problem and should last rest of my life. Caution: the zero turn mowers do not traverse across steep hills very well. You have to go up and down but not across (they slide).
Rebecca, they say we eat an amount of dirt every year. You may as well drink all of yours today. You are doing great with the new mower and it does a great job and I am glad it saves you hours of mowing time.
Awesome job Rebekah. For the life of me, I don't know why Zero-turn mowers don't have Diff Lockers. They get stuck way to easily. You're both living the life, most of us wish we could.
Zero turn mowers doesn’t have a axle as in a tractor type mower each wheel has its own drive motor. The wheel that must do the turning is the one that is stuck. I actually put small 4 wheeler tires on my old zero turn which helped a lot when I would get too closed to the edge of a wet spot. Hope this helps to understand why zero turns dont have a way to lock both rear wheels together.
I've had a Gravely zero turn for 20 yrs. I get it stuck at least once a year lol. It has to be pulled out. It is starting to have some problems but it has been a great mower. ENJOY your new mower.
In the past 20 years I’ve had 3 commercial grade ZT mowers to take care of my 4 acres of yard here in the MO Ozarks. I mow from early april to late October every year so i put a lot of hours mowing. The first was a 60” Dixie chopper. It was totally reliable but it nearly beat me to death riding it. They may have a better suspension now. The next was a 2006 Gravely 260Z 60”. It has been a real work horse and totally reliable. I maintain it well and it’s now got 4500 hours in 18 years on the clock. I decided with that much use i would be prudent to replace it before it became a maintenance hog. Like you and Rebekah, I opted for the Toro Z Master 4100 60” and in limited use so far this summer its been the best of the 3. I currently have only 28 hours on the clock. With a 31 hp Kawasaki it has more power and gives a smoother ride thanks to the very comfortable adjustable seat. Time will tell if it will last as long as the Gravely 260Z. I have noted that the 31 hp Kaw is more thirsty than the 27 hp Kohler on the Gravely. Perhaps the economy will improve as i get more hours on it. I currently get about 2 gph at 2/3 throttle. That means i need to refill the 10 gallon tank every time i mow. The Gravely and the Dixie chopper both had 2 saddle tanks with a total of 12 gallons of gas. I got about 1.5 gph of economy so as it takes me 3 hours to mow the entire yard i could mow two times without refueling. I’ll be interested to hear what your economy is. Thats my only complaint on the Toro so far. I really appreciate your channel. The content variety and video quality are some of the best I’ve seen on YT. Keep up the great work. 👍
Toro has always been a top shelf product. It seems Rebecca is a top shelf operator as well. For getting used to a new machine she really handles it well. Zero turn isn't a good fit with our property due to all the slopes we have. I know a lot of folks share by them though. Seeing it is a Toro I 'd like to share an anecdote if I may. Back around 1979 a friend d I worked with in Texas was looking at a new lawnmower for his 2-1/2"acre property. Every day at lunch for at leastvtwo months he looked at different dealers and models. He finally decided on a Toro. It turned out that the service manager for the Toro dealer lived very close to my friend so the manager said he would deliver the new mower free of charge since he would be coming home anyway. The big day arrived and this service manager was obviously very proud of his product. He unloads the machine, hops on the seat and says to my friend something to the affect, "Now THIS is a mowing machine!" and proceeds to charge across my friend's lawn. The engine roared, he moved at impressive speed, but no grass was cut. Not one blade of grass. The service manager, very red-faced stopped the machine, did a few checks and loaded the machine back onto his rig. He turned to my friend and through gritted teeth told him he would bring the mower back tomorrow and "By God IT WILL CUT GRASS!" His technicians had failed to install the idler pullies on the deck. My friend and I wished we could have been flies on the wall when that manager took that machine back to his shop. We suspect somebody, as or multiple somebodies, got an earful that morning. True to his word the machine returned the next evening and cut flawlessly. I don't know how many years of use my friend got out of it since I took another job and lost touch with him, but every time I see a Toro mower I think of him and this event. Lol
Really good choice of mower, we purchased the Toro Titan 60” last year and it is a beast. We live on steep ground and I wrecked it 7 times before I bought some Wanda ATV sand tires, it tears up the grass every now and again but I only mow about a half acre we care about, the rest is pasture. The forged deck and welded front end are seriously heavy duty. Likewise, that seat is the bomb, they call it “my ride” on the residential mowers, and I’ll mow for six hours on it with no real fatigue. Great episode, look forward to more. Cheers, Dan and Elle
You'll love that new mower, definitely have a help system handy to get it unstuck around the pond and ditches. That's the only draw back to it. Stay safe and enjoy it maybe rig up some mud guards to shield the driver. Fred
Get yourself a set of atomic blades throws out less clumps and gives a great finish. Dont worry about the spindles we run a few of these and in 15 years i have changed 2 spindles but that was caused through operator error, have fun
Hey my grandparents brand has that and I was little I always ride with my grandparents mowing their yard and now they're getting older I run that lawnmower by myself mow the whole yard by self that is a good lawn mower
Go Rebekah. Wow you really got that mower rolling fast well done. I was waiting for Even to get all dirty when the mower got stuck and he was pushing. 🙄The perfect mower for you guys you chose well Rebekah.👍👍
Working at a toro dealer, you can adjust the deck lift back if it makes it easier. The golf bolt can be moved to either of the two settings. Make sure you do a 10hr engine oil change and the transmission filters and fluid at 75hrs and you won’t have any issues. The 74054 toro’s are an awesome machine!
Word of advice, take a leaf blower and keep the deck of the mower blown off, this will save wear on the spindle bearing and help keep the belts running cooler.. A leaf blower will help you out a bunch in keeping the mower in top shape...
Yea agree. After I started pressure washing. I thought, maybe I should have blown all the grass out first. I have really been thinking about buying a gas powered leaf blower. I could use it on all my hay equipment as well.
@@CountryViewAcres Look on marketplace/Craigslist. Been able to buy 2 in my area, one an ECHO one a Stihl, gas powered backpack blower. They were like new but damn close to 1/4--1/2 the cost.
I run an X MARK 60" mower and all summer long I sit on the seat 8 to 10 hours a day 5 days a week at the camp ground I work for and it's the most comfortable mower I have ever used
Nice purchase there guys. That beast of a mower should last well beyond 10 years. Especially the way you've been trying to take care of your equipment. One bad thing about a zero turn is that usually once you start spinning in the mud you're going to be stuck before you know it.
For future reference, good she had the wheels turning when you pulled the mower out of the mud, but if you pull out the machine as a one person operation, make sure you release the hydro pumps first. And don't forget the 10 hour oil change.
Me and my wife sure got a big laugh about the getting stuck in the pond. I used to have to drag her out of the pond about 50% of the time she mowed. Gotta get that last blade of grass, bless their hearts.
Hello Evan,Rebecca mower looks great. I have about 1.5 acre total to cut and it's been to wet so if you want bring over and you can help me lol. Have a great day.
I bought a zero turn last year. Cut my mowing time in half. Love my mower. Went with a Country Clipper, joy stick steering and can flip up the deck to clean the deck and sharpen the blades. You will love mowing lawn again.
Love the lawnmower, I have the smaller one 4200 Timecutter, it too is a good mower and years old too. Something I bought recently, I must tell you about. A gas transfer pump, they have them at Harbor Freight. I think around $11.00, At my age, that 5 gallons of gas gets heavier each year. This is the best thing since sliced bread. Your wife will love it too, Believe me. Google it up.
Hey yall ! Great choice Rebekah ! We are all about Toro products. That should last you longer than 10 years ! Ours lasted over 20. It was just a pushover so I don't know if that makes a difference ...but you should like it! Loved all of the recent videos except the loss of Tom turkey 🦃😥 ! I know his gobbling used to get to Evan when he was trying to do his videos...but I did like hearing him...it was a comfort sound to me...love the new babies..you are quite a wonderful person ! Your affection to your animals is so touching...you have a very tender heart and I love that about you ! Hey Evan ! Just want to give Rebekah a bit of thumbs up ! You're a great guy too and we enjoy your videos so much ! Love that new Toro ! I love cutting grass! LOL! Just something so satisfying about mowing it down ! Rebekah ...you will be flying through the grass at top speeds b 4 you know it ! Hang in there butbavpid the mud ...eh ?! Lolol ! You guys are good eggs ! God bless y'all ! 🙏
I am glad Rebekkah has her new lawnmower. I had suggested that zero turn last year. I have 2 of them to keep my place fully cut. Only time I see nephews wanting to come cut grass. They want keep their parents home grass cut. Must be that push mower that stops them.
That’s an awesome! Mower. One thing I love about this channel is the variety. It’s always great to see different projects you do a great job Evan and Rebekah
Wow.... Rebecca is doing great on the zero Turn Mower. I purchased one this year also and it's a learning experience for sure. I crashed into everything the first time....lol From my experience, I found that if I raise the deck height to 4 inches, it cuts just a well, is less load on the engine and still looks great because even at 4 inches, it's all the same height. Good luck and keep up the great videos
A set of hi lift blades will transform that thing into a grass cutting beast. Loose the rubber chute so it will throw the grass out farther instead of leaving windrows and loose the pulley covers over the spindles to reduce belt heat and wear.
I went with the diesel kubota. zd1211-60. all my machines are diesel. Tractor, mower, RTV and generator. Gas becomes a pain in the butt if it sits around too long.
I mounted a harbor freight winch on the front of my new zero turn to pull myself out, very easy to put on just drill two holes in that front plate. I've been called by neighbors to pull them out
I have 2 Toro Z-Master 3000, the precessor to the 4000 series. I've been very happy with both my Toro's. One has 645 hrs and the other has 300, both running Kawi engines and no issues.
First thing I noticed, was how extremely close it could cut to your raised beds, that was actually really impressive! I bought a husqvarna 4wd front deck mower this spring, and it does not cut that close even that its a commercial mower, so that is a really nice thing! Second thing, was how it blasted through that very high grass, so I think you bought yourself a winner here!
Looks like a great upgrade. I did that at my place a decade ago and it was really worth getting back those hours every week. Next step is figure out the areas of the yard that are slowing the cut down and redesign features in those areas; like instead of flower beds etc with sharp corners use gentle arcs and let the wetland grow, or fence in additional areas so the animals take care of the more challenging mowing areas saving on the feed bill too.
I SO identify with Rebekah's struggles. I mow with a commercial JD Z930M, and it's SO EASY to get that thing stuck next to the pond. Sometimes it just doesn't look as wet and soggy as it is, and that rear-wheel drive can really bury itself fast. The only thing I do NOT like about the JD is that it doesn't have the air ride seat. It'll definitely beat you to death if you're trying to hurry. Congratulations on your new purchase, guys. I hope you'll enjoy it for years to come!
Toro has a factory right here in Plymouth, Wisconsin. It's a great company to work for from what I here from friends who work there. Congrats, now do some work!
The big tires on the mower is a great idea! Being it's commercial grade, that thing may very well last you a lifetime, considering its built to run almost 8 hours a day during mowing season and you only would mow not much more than 5 hours a week. Also, if you don't have your steers on any strict diet and they haven't been sent to the butcher, they will just love eating those corn stalks after you harvest your corn. Thanks for the demo on the mower. I have 1.25 acres I mow with a 42 inch rider and it takes me about 3 hours. A zero turn like that could do my yard in about 40 minutes.
That mower is a beast but she needs to be very careful around the pond. I know several people who've had their mower slide right into the water. One nearly drown. Just be aware that the ZTR can slip sideways quick!
It is a year later, and hope you do a follow up video. I moved last year to a home with five acres. The prop came with a belly mower, and took me 7 hours to mow, I bought a 24hp zero turn since the speed difference was like yours, it doubled the speed on straightaways and quicker turns. I hope you kept your Husqvarna. I kept my mower because I have areas I on hills where it is a maze, and in addition to a zero turn you will always need a dirt devil that you can drive through brush and not throw off your levers like a zero turn, also I keep fresh sharp blades on my zero for straight cutting and can put heaver duty blades on the riding that I know get dull from hitting branches and bottoming out in low spots. You absolutely need a foot break if you are mowing hills or around a lot of obstacles. John Deere was not going to give me 1/2 of what it was worth on trade in, and unless your a mechanic like you are, every dang small engine repair is at a minimum of 7 weeks behind on lawnmower service, so if anything went wrong with my zero turn, I have a backup. Also it cuts down on adding hours on my zero turn, I got a four year or 300 hr warranty and straight mowing doesn’t put a-lot of hours on, but trying to go up and down hills and around trees does, so I put the slow hard hours on the riding tractor and save the continuous mowing to the zero turn.
Best case go forward to the pond and keep the rear wheels in the rear on firm ground. We bought a Ferris for our Farm from a Ferris Dealer, seems to be a very nice mower also.
Nice Mower , Cuts That Long Grass Well, The Longer The Grass The Longer It Should Take To Cut. Short Grass You Can Wiz Over Quickly. I Like The CHUNKY Big Wheels On The Back... Those Spindle Bearings You Should Be Able To Take Out The Spindle Shafts & Take Out The Bearings , Remove The Bearing Caps Gently & Pack With Grease. Put Caps Back On Bearings & Re- Install
When your wife got stuck that's why I bought a john deere x700 series with 4x4 and locking Differential with 4 wheel steering worth every penny. It really gets you out of spots like that.
After owning many zero-turns and trying to mow wet grass look under your deck to see how much grass is packed in the mower deck. And yes they get stuck easy. Gotta watch for wet spots as they get stuck easy. Your 4wheeler will pull it out pretty easy. She really put it thru the ringer. Same motor as my Country Clipper but mine is a single joystick control meaning one hand is free to move branches out of the way and my deck flips up 90° for cleaning and maintenance and no plastic parts on it. Made in Iowa by a family business USA made.
Kip Cuddl Have to second that. Last july I finally gave up an my husqvarna (Also replaced engine!) garden tractor and got a Country Clipper XLT. Love it for sure. I got the Kawa engine and joystick control. That has worked out wonderfully well. For an 80 year old, that flip up deck is a god send. (Just finished about 4+ acres a few minutes ago.) Enjoy yours!
@@dd_ranchtexas4501 mines the Challenger 52" deck. 25hp kawasaki. I like the flip up deck but since my heart surgery I had to get an electric hoist and mount it to one of my steel beams in my shop to lift it up. Works great. Should've got the electric lift option I guess.
@@kipcudd7253 HA! Great minds flow in the same gutter, I guess. That is EXACTLY what I did - too weak to lift, so harbor freight hoist..... Hoist was big help when needing 3 hands repairing my tractor also. Hold part steady for me.... Understand the problem. I'm 80 and some years ago I had a muscle to lift. But it eloped to Vegas with my brain and I've not seen either of them since!
I bought a Country Clipper last year and cut my mowing time in half. Love the 54” deck and the feature of flipping up the deck to clean the under side of the deck. Also makes it easy to sharpen the blades.
@@thomaslapp6029 "cut my mowing time in half" Yep, I heard that statement for just about every ZTR salesdroid as a mantra. When I dug in for details I found out that EVERY time they were comparing a ZTR with a larger, wider deck and bigger, more powerful engine to a Garden Tractor with a smaller, narrower deck and a smaller, less powerful engine! Well D'uh, that's an apples to figs comparison....... That's not why I chose my CC ZLT and have never made a time-to-mow comparison. The XLT is bigger and more powerful than my old Husqvarna Garden Tractor and is faster naturally, but mainly, it makes a better cut on the wild grass (former hay field) that we have. It rides well. But mostly it is that tip up deck that is the true reason for my purchase. For someone with little remaining physical strength, it is a god-send. I clean the deck and touch up the blades after each mow of the property and it is SO MUCH easier!!! Country Clipper is not the only make with a tilt up deck. I was looking at a Hustler FlipUp with push button, electric deck lift and tilt up. But no dealer had one or could promise one in anything less that 6 months (Thank you Mr. Virus!). Got my XLT in one month and am very happy with it - cuts well quickly, rides nice and SAVES MY BACK! Oh and yeah I have mobility issues and use a mower as a gas powered wheelchair to get to our mailbox WAY out there at the farm road. With my new mower, I look better doing it. HA!
Vasco D'almeida: Great idea. I reused my old Husq (gear drive) to pull our dump trailer. Don't like the idea of putting all that load - trailer loaded with _many_ rocks - on the hydros. Too much heat generated makes for an expensive repair. Gear drive mower or tractor for the heavy work......
I work at a toro dealership and the 4000 and 4000 hdx series are one of the best mower in the line excellent quality and the Kawasaki engiens are very heavy duty never go with anything else

Best mower you could have bought man for real. She picked well.
Toro has been in the lawn mower business for a very long time. They should know how to make the very best. And I understand they do.
Glad to see your wife is a hardy soul good for you my wife is so lazy I can barely get her to go get groceries
Love you guys together... fantastic mower!
Keep up the maintenance and you'll be happy for years to come. Amazing even cut even when the grass is a bit wet.
You'll love that new mower, definitely have a help system handy to get it unstuck around the pond and ditches. That's the only draw back to it. Stay safe and enjoy it maybe rig up some mud guards to shield the driver. Fred
Mower is a beast. I think the biggest maintenance item will be keeping the blades sharp. Get a couple extra sets of blades and keep them sharp.
Get yourself a set of atomic blades throws out less clumps and gives a great finish.
Dont worry about the spindles we run a few of these and in 15 years i have changed 2 spindles but that was caused through operator error, have fun
Like the new O turn mower .
No problem, Rebekah. TYM 574 pulls out in 1 second.😁🚜🍃🌿☘️✂️✂️❤️😇❤️😎👍
If u are on any type of hill make sure that you have the roll around up we had a local man Sunday break his neck when his zero turn mower flipped over
Working at a toro dealer, you can adjust the deck lift back if it makes it easier. The golf bolt can be moved to either of the two settings. Make sure you do a 10hr engine oil change and the transmission filters and fluid at 75hrs and you won’t have any issues. The 74054 toro’s are an awesome machine!
Good on you bud😊
@@CountryViewAcres i love my echo backpack blower. I have 2 acres of wooded pasture i have to keep leaf-free.
Looks a great machine.
I run an X MARK 60" mower and all summer long I sit on the seat 8 to 10 hours a day 5 days a week at the camp ground I work for and it's the most comfortable mower I have ever used
Can’t beat a Toro mower. They perform very well
Toro is an awesome machine. Mine has the MyRide system and it’s extremely comfortable. Highly recommend it.
Rebecca, congratulations on getting your new lawnmower.
Me and my wife sure got a big laugh about the getting stuck in the pond. I used to have to drag her out of the pond about 50% of the time she mowed. Gotta get that last blade of grass, bless their hearts.
Ferris is my brand ilove my 51 inch cut That Husq was never meant to cut that big of a lawn lol
You can get really nice pull behind carts and other accessories that you pull behind for Toro's like that.
I mow commercial and I will say that is the best engine you can get for power and reliability
I listen to the same things while I mow! 😀
Congrats Rebekah on getting the new mower. looks like it will be a KEEPER..
I had a toro and moved to a spartan. love it
Mulching blades for the win! congrats on the zero turn you will never go back.
Your right about that one I had one loved it prints failed and leaks everywhere now I use a siphon hose
If you mow away from the fence row you don't get all the grass clippings building up in your fence row and it just looks nicer.
I went from 7 hours down to 2 hours mow time when I bought our zero turn... Now I have mow time to do so much mow
That’s an awesome! Mower. One thing I love about this channel is the variety. It’s always great to see different projects you do a great job Evan and Rebekah
I loved the stubborn duck. 😄
Wow....
Rebecca is doing great on the zero Turn Mower. I purchased one this year also and it's a learning experience for sure. I crashed into everything the first time....lol
From my experience, I found that if I raise the deck height to 4 inches, it cuts just a well, is less load on the engine and still looks great because even at 4 inches, it's all the same height.
I've been called by neighbors to pull them out
Love the new mower!
Suggestion for your WiFi, Echo Dot. All kinds of uses. You can tie your lights and cameras into it. Check out the Blink Camera System!
You guys have too much fun - Stop iT! :)
Rebekah: "Evan, I got the mower stuck in the pond."
Evan: "Excellent! Thanks for the great content, honey!"
🤣🤣
The big tires on the mower is a great idea! Being it's commercial grade, that thing may very well last you a lifetime, considering its built to run almost 8 hours a day during mowing season and you only would mow not much more than 5 hours a week. Also, if you don't have your steers on any strict diet and they haven't been sent to the butcher, they will just love eating those corn stalks after you harvest your corn. Thanks for the demo on the mower. I have 1.25 acres I mow with a 42 inch rider and it takes me about 3 hours. A zero turn like that could do my yard in about 40 minutes.
Nice mower!!! Hope you enjoy.
I can see why Rebekah likes it! I would to if I had grass. Looked like it did a great job!
You guys are awesome Rebecca is very cute👍🏻😁
That mower is a beast but she needs to be very careful around the pond. I know several people who've had their mower slide right into the water. One nearly drown. Just be aware that the ZTR can slip sideways quick!
Rebecca needed a new mower and that Toro looks like a good one and it cuts well.
I got a used Dixie chopper and put ATV tires on it, talk about going anywhere, Ive gone through water that deep with zero issues.
Kind of Weird seeing this tonight because it's the second time this week I've seen that toro.
Good to know they make decent stuff.
Hey guys everything is looking great. 👌❤😇
Love the mower and the grass! Beautiful
Last july I finally gave up an my husqvarna
(Also replaced engine!) garden tractor and got a Country Clipper XLT.
Love it for sure. I got the Kawa engine and joystick control. That has worked
out wonderfully well. For an 80 year old, that flip up deck is a god send.
(Just finished about 4+ acres a few minutes ago.)
Enjoy yours!
But
it eloped to Vegas with my brain and I've not seen either of them since!
I bought a Country Clipper last year and cut my mowing time in half. Love the 54” deck and the feature of flipping up the deck to clean the under side of the deck. Also makes it easy to sharpen the blades.
@@thomaslapp6029 "cut my mowing time in half"
Yep, I heard that statement for just about every ZTR salesdroid as a
mantra. When I dug in for details I found out that EVERY time they
were comparing a ZTR with a larger, wider deck and bigger, more
powerful engine to a Garden Tractor with a smaller, narrower deck
and a smaller, less powerful engine! Well D'uh, that's an apples to
figs comparison.......
That's not why I chose my CC ZLT and have never made a time-to-mow
comparison. The XLT is bigger and more powerful than my old Husqvarna
Garden Tractor and is faster naturally, but mainly, it makes a better cut
on the wild grass (former hay field) that we have. It rides well. But mostly
it is that tip up deck that is the true reason for my purchase. For someone
with little remaining physical strength, it is a god-send. I clean the deck
and touch up the blades after each mow of the property and it is SO
MUCH easier!!!
Country Clipper is not the only make with a tilt up deck. I was looking
at a Hustler FlipUp with push button, electric deck lift and tilt up.
But no dealer had one or could promise one in anything less that 6
months (Thank you Mr. Virus!). Got my XLT in one month and am very
happy with it - cuts well quickly, rides nice and SAVES MY BACK!
Oh and yeah I have mobility issues and use a mower as a gas powered
wheelchair to get to our mailbox WAY out there at the farm road. With
my new mower, I look better doing it. HA!
Perhaps you can repurpose the Husqvarna and rig something to help clean the barn. Love your vids keep up the great work.
Vasco D'almeida: Great idea. I reused my old Husq (gear drive) to pull our
dump trailer. Don't like the idea of putting all that load - trailer loaded with
_many_ rocks - on the hydros. Too much heat generated makes for an
expensive repair. Gear drive mower or tractor for the heavy work......
it's been a very wet spring. I got stuck in the mud & my neighbor got stuck the same day also. We had to pull mine out with a truck
