    I am not a fan of yellow, but that Springtime Yellow looks great. In fact, now that I think about it, a fastback Mustang of this generation looks good in any color.

      Some people call it "pale yellow" yes. I agree. I have an exact die-cast replica of that car.

    As a kid of 14 years old in my dad's GTA '67 fastback 390 sitting shotgun and listening to Steppin Wolf's "Born to be wild" with the radio cranked was heaven for me!

    I dearly miss my springtime yellow fastback. Great first car. I paid a whopping $1400 forit in 1978.

    Well I'm going to have to say I really dislike spring time yellow. Not for me. But the car is beautifully restored and in stunning condition. 👍🍻

    What a beauty. I'm surprised to hear you say that only 15% were fastbacks. That seemed to be the hot design trend at the time, with the Toronado leading the way.

      Yes its a fact. The fastback across all the early years is the hardest to find due to lowest production numbers. When these cars were new the coupe was far and away the most popular with buyers.

      @Burnedtoastify 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That does seem crazy now, but it must have had something to do with the coupe's slightly lower price and bigger back seat. This one is a beauty by the way!

      It would be interesting to find out if the demand for fastbacks went up after "Bullitt" was released in 1968.

    • @Burnedtoastify
      @Burnedtoastify 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Could be... But the movie came out in late '68 and by that time most of the dealerships would have moved on to the redesigned '69 models.

      1968 was a strange year ..... due to a strike that year there were FAR LESS 1968 Fastbacks then 1967.

    I have a car just like this paid $700. and still have it, same color, engine, but no gt option. one thing I noticed if you look at the marti report this car did not come with the deluxe interior (brushed aluminum parts) which would explain the lack of an overhead console. It also did not come with a console. both parts have been added to this car. Same with the deluxe steering wheel. Its been added.

    I like pretty much all “early” Mustangs and I believe that this car is as rare as you say it is but my problem is that you said “This car also comes with another very rare option... “this car is 1 of only 87 that came from the factory, 1 of 87 out of 474,121 that came with a painted gray rear panel, now that’s insanely rare.” Now my question to you Sir is, “If this car is as rare as you say, which I have no doubt that it is, BUT WHY is the rear panel yellow? That car has to be a very valuable car and should have that rear panel should be repainted gray!

    • @QualityClassics
      @QualityClassics  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because, we wanted to leave that option up to the buyer of the car. I agree, if it was my personal car I would paint the rear panel gray... because it is in fact extremely rare.

    • @bigboss4298
      @bigboss4298 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      MyRod.com But doesn’t “rarity” translate into dollars? If I was selling this I would want to maximize my profit as much as I could. I would want to have it exactly like it was the day it left the factory! I would be proud to have this sitting in my driveway ready to hit the open road. It’s not a Shelby or a Boss (my personal favorites) this is what I call a “gentleman’s hotrod”, but this is a very nice, beautiful looking car to drive and have as an investment!

    The value of this thing if it were to be put up for sale would probably be close to 6 figures. That's just my opinion.
