A downright pitiful tune. Nice job brother!

    Beautiful! ❤❤❤
Love your playing style. What type of banjo is that? I have a 1880s luscombe that sounds very similar, well it did before the head cracked.

Thank you Annette. This is an S S Stewart banjo (1890s). My playing style is learned mostly from Clifton Hicks and then also listening to recordings of other players that I like. And some things that I learn by accident just playing around. By head cracked do you mean the drum head ripped or do you mean that the metal rings that hold the drum head down broke?

@@Yallquietendown sorry, I meant the vellum drum head tore. Hoping the replacement vellum will have the banjo sounding similar, as the sound was pretty much perfect, IMO. Hard to find one as thin as the one that tore.
Those old SS Stewarts seem to always sound amazing. 😍

@@annettemundy3640ah that’s awful. I hope you can get it back to how you like the sound. I had a calfskin on this Stewart and mine ripped too. I replaced it with a plastic white “frosted” head. I also replaced the original tailpiece with one that puts more pressure on the strings and got a more plinky sound which I like.

@@Yallquietendown do you prefer the plastic or calfskin head?

@@annettemundy3640white frosted plastic 100%. When I bought this banjo it had a clear plastic that I didn’t like. Also I like labella 17 nylon strings. That’s all preference though as everyone has their preferred sound there’s not a “wrong” sound. The right sound is the one you like
