@@fhtv even a brand like chrome had a following before based on quality jewelry and their brand will live on for years after it dies completely as a trend. Amiri will be out of business in the next 10 years
The problem with a brand like this is that they'd never be able to scale to anything beyond a very niche market. When you're relying on sourcing a certain era of a certain style of a certain brand of jeans then manually reworking each pair, it's literally impossible to scale to do volume and get your price point down. This is all fine when your brand is hot and consistent with what high fashion is wearing, but completely falls apart when trends change and you can't command the same price tag. Flared denim with males NEVER sticks around long term through the course of history.
@@Skinner90210 but he’s talking about a cut of jeans… where I live all the the houseless people are rockin the trues everybody threw away 7 or 8 years ago and so I don’t see that shift happening for a bit .

I was a teen in the 2000s and I remember, especially for women , everything was flared early 00s and we didn’t actually want that , I was constantly tailoring my own jeans on the leg opening , all of my guy friends too , and brought my sewing machine to high school a few days and did it for 5 bucks ha
@@EllsX76 I guess you didn't notice that my comment was from a year ago. The reason they're doing well now is because they pivoted their business model into mostly making machine made items in bulk at factories. If you look at their website, only a very small percentage of their items are still starting out as repurposed vintage garments and hand decorated. Back then, that's pretty much all they did and something like 80% of their business was from jeans that started out as vintage Levi's, had to be manually re-sewn to change the cuff cut, then were hand decorated. I was actually spot on with my prediction because they did announce they were shutting down, only to pop back up shortly after with this new business model. Without making that change, they wouldn't have made it.
Honestly, I feel as Josue keeping creative integrity within himself, he saw where the brand was going and end up leaving to pursue his house label to keep true to his creative mind

HOT TAKE :The problem is that the same people that make it popular also kill it, let’s be honest when a brand makes it to the hood, People who don’t know themselves and want to feel like someone end up buying clothes like this and they overdue it/ make it look dirty. For people in the hood, we have seen people wear the same designer shirt a bunch of times and not carry themselves to the same standard of the clothes and it makes the clothes look dirty (Look at the guy who got killed trying to hurt the corner store owner in NYC with a fake Amiri Shirt. Plus those people don’t know how to put pieces together, They just buy it for the name to impress others & kids this year bought out all The Gallery department pieces so it got saturated like how my people killed Purple denim, Alexander McQueen, Vlone, Amiri and etc. This has to do with a lot of fashion brands only going for cash grabs and low hanging fruit that someone who just wants to feel like money when they have none goes to get their stuff.
