Of course, the day I post this video, the welcome offer on the Brilliant Card gets elevated to 185,000 points! Don't wait if your thinking of getting that card.
I just got approved for the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless card. I wanted to start the process of getting the Ritz card. I like staying at Marriotts, and I believe that I can fully take advantage of the credits and benefits. Plus, a small part of me wants to have such an obscure card for the cool factor. 😁
@@Spend.Earn.Travel.let’s remember the rules about welcome offers between both issuers. Stan the credit frog does an AMAZING break down of the ultimate Marriott strategy for free nights but it’s good for overall Marriott things. You cannot have the ritz Carlton card before you apply for the brilliant card. If you get a bonus from either chase or Amex, you are locked out of a bonus from the other issuer for 2 years. Plan accordingly but I recommend watching his video for the correct approach. If you just got the boundless, you’ll need to wait two years before getting a bonus from Amex, so after two years you can get the Amex brilliant and the business card, and both bonuses, and THEN you can product change to ritz once you’ve gotten both bonuses. Or just the brilliant however you want to approach it. But then you will also be locked out of bonus from chase for two years, at which point you can apply for the bold or the boundless again. Anyway, find the video it’s incredible lol
Today I entered the Sapphire Lounge IAD with my Ritz-Carlton card. AMEX cards need not try. The AFN got us a free night in Maui at the Ritz-Carlton, which would have cost $1,976.R-C rocks.
I’ve mostly become a Marriott loyalist and recently received and completed the boundless sign on bonus. Looking forward to product changing to the Ritz later this year hopefully.🤞
Isn't there a caveat regarding the welcome bonus on the Brilliant that you have to wait 24 months if you got a welcome bonus on the Boundless. Also, I don't think you can get the Brilliant if you already have the Ritz-Carlton card. So, it looks like if you want both cards, you get the Boundless, then wait 24 months then get the Brilliant, and then after that, upgrade the Boundless to the RC. I'm not sure how long you have to wait after you get the Brilliant to do the upgrade though.
My problem with these cards is at their price point the 85,000 point “free night” cap is not that valuable for me, I know you can top off points but I looked at rooms in Charleston,SC on a random weekend in the spring and rooms were Going for 120k points to 150k points, at least the Aspire has an uncapped free night. I know Marriott has variable pricing but I feel like this would force me to cherry pick where, when and how I use the “free night” award.
Informative video, but I think you added an extra zero into the point valuation. It should be .7 CPP, not .07 CPP, otherwise the 95,000 point bonus would only be worth $66.50.
@@Spend.Earn.Travel. not yet. Just getting through the first year with the boundless. Need to wait until summer of 2025 to get welcome offer on Brilliant and then I can product change the boundless after.
Mainly just eating points in both currencies, Membership Reward Points and Ultimate Reward points. Along with access to those transfer partners. It would take a decent amount of work to be able to utilize both setups in full. But I can be done!

It's like it was meant to be.

I am hoping to do the same soon! You are correct, there is something cool about having a card that not many other people have!

Ritz as a Keeper card, Brilliant just for the sub unless you stay ALOT at Marriott that the platinum status is worth it to you
The Ritz Carlton gets you into the Sapphire Lounge. It is a Visa Infiniti card
Ahh that’s another great perk. I forgot that one!
The elevated offer is currently at 185,000 until 5/1/24
Oh course the day I post the video, The offer get's elevated hahaha! Just my luck!
I would go with chase, because visa is widely accepted.
That's a really great thought. I hadn't considered the card network. Good thinking!
great video! running both for my 25' travel strategy
Marriott for sure. Credits are not limited to resorts.
I have The Brilliant card. I like the Boundless because you get an elite night for every $5000.00 you spend. No other Marriott card has that benefit.

That’s a great redemption!!
It’d be nice if ritz was updated to have platinum status so people can move out of the Amex system for those getting brilliant just for status
Having Platinum Status on this card would be a great addition!

I too am facing some difficulty redeeming the Marriot FNCs that I have.
@@GWUJO I am with you, if am going to pay $650 for a card I don’t want to search and hunt for how to use a “free night” certificate
I would like to see you compare the Visa Bonvoy to the Ritz card. Is the upgrade within chase worth it? What do you lose and what do you gain?

I’m working on getting both.
That's awesome! Do you have either of them yet?

Both?
What’s the advantage (s) of having both. If any?

Is the wait for 1 year to change product from boundless to ritz mandatory?
Yes you do need to way at least one year
Could you do a marriot vegas Video
I can add that to my list! Are you looking for info about the MGM partnership or just Marriott hotels in Vegas?
@Spend.Earn.Travel. partnership but other properties would be interesting.
Ritz Sapphire Card?
