- Another great option for tactical pants, the Tru-Spec 24/7 Tactical pants are comfortable and durable. And I can speak to durability a bit: tested for over 1 1/2 years in tactical shooting and wilderness outings these pants have taken the use and abuse well. Though offered in 100% cotton canvas, I rec' you stick with the Tru-Spec 65% polyester/35% cotton fabric. It breathes amazingly well, it's lighter weight, dries adequately fast in warm weather, is comfortable, it's sharp looking, and durable. The fabric is Teflon® coated to resist staining but don't expect that repellency to last the life of the pant. It will diminish with washing. Some fading of the colors is normal (tips given in vid). Overall though, this is the best fabric I have found in a pant of this design and is identical it seems to the also-excellent 5.11 TacLite Pro pants. Similar to those pants, the 24/7s have an active waist that features that can flex in or out to accommodate substantial variances in waist size (like that's even happened!). I prefer this method over all previous BDU or ACU design attempts and is a bit cleaner in appearance than the 5.11 pants. Stitching in the 24/7 pants is precise, overrun free, and features bar tacks in stress areas. Interior seams are finished well. Belt loops are ideal and the reinforced knees have a slit in them for inserting soft knee pads. Colors are shown and surprisingly include Multicam (for extra cost). Other upsides include genuine YKK® zippers, quality brand snaps, availability of extended sizes, and less cost than the 5.11 pants (subject to change). There are some downsides however: the cell phone pockets are lower than 5.11s (harder to reach), the bar-tacked pocket flaps don't provide complete access to the cargo pockets, smaller knife pockets, and there are no Supplex pocket reinforcements. But still the Tru-Spec Tactical pants still rock and will excel in most realistic uses. /////////////////////////// Nutnfancy Likability Scale: 9 of 10 /////////////// Music licensed to TNP from Torley Wong

They look pretty good. Thanks for all the time you put into the reviews brother. Fantastic work.
Hey nutnfancy, I reviewed your tru spec 24/7 and found that they are the tactical pants I was looking for. Affordable, tough, rugged and durable I can't wait start putting them to the test. I love your reviews, videos and your run in guns are awesome, keep up the good work.
Always love your vids. Thanks for the work and knowledge you provide.
Good review! Thanks for posting. Keep up the great work and keep sharing the knowledge!!!
Thanks for yet another alternative for adventure wear Nutn! Great review bro!
Hey nutn!! I purchased these pants about a week ago and I took em out backpacking for a few days to try them out. On the hike to the campsite it pretty much rained none stop and the pants performed real well in the rain as only my knees got a bit wet. Once I reached the campsite it luckily stopped raining and by the time I had set everything up they were completely dry. These pants totally exceeded my expectations and I thank you for this helpful review which led me to them. Peace out dude!!!!!
I've been using these pants for a year now & went with them over the Tac-Lite Pro pant because of value & pocket configuration. I've been more than pleased with them & would highly recommend them.
Great review.
great vid been looking at different tactical pants and have looked at the tru-spec quite a bit thanks for posting.
I am a fan of tru-spec pants. Good to see you reviewed them.
This is stuff I love. Things I own and have been wearing before a Nutnfancy review comes out.
Been wearing these pants for over a year now and by far the best pairs of pants I have ever owned, the elastic waist is a cool feature.
before i ripped them on a call, i used these as ems pants. so much more comfortable. i kept my motorola minitor 2 pager in the cell phone pocket as the belt clip for the pager was broken(only one left in our service and i didnt want to part with it). i keep all my shears, flashlights and gloves inside where they cant get caught on anything. great pants. good vid dude. keep up the great work. god bless.
Have worn the poly/cotton pants as my everyday wear for several years now and they are my favs. Like you say, very good value.
"Once I find something that works, I tend to stick with it." Sounds good to me.
Been wearing these for about a year now and I have the zip off at the knees pair. I personally love em! Great fit. The waistband rocks. I bought mine for $30 at an Army Navy Store in my hometown. Thanks for the review!
Found out about these while perusing through a surplus store while I was in the Corps. These pants R-O-C-K! I cannot say enough about them, but thank you for bringing TNPr's attention to these pants!
Sick review Nutn! "How embarrassing would it be if I threw these up their with a stain there"? Loved the humor! Great review and I think I have found my next pant selection!
awesome recommendation nutn. def gonna get the multis thanks again.
These are some of the greatest pants I wear for the price. I was amazed after the first pair and bought 4 more. Blue jeans are appropriate for everything in rural America where I live but these are useful.
wear these all the time for work and training, excellent
We wear the 24/7 pants on duty at our firehouse... Very comfortable! I second pretty much every sentiment... Although we cant carry on duty... They do the job. My Kershaw blade in one knife pocket, and a Bic Steel ball point in the other... Chicka chicha YEAH!! Love the vids, keep em coming!!
good video nutn and veri keep up the great work
Been wearing the Tru-Spec 24/7 Tac for about 18 months as an EMS Medic and Swat team Medic. I love them. I use the inside knee pads when on ambulance as I'm getting old, and regular external knee pads on the swat team. I carry Benchmade Rift or Griptilian in right knife pocket and a Fenix LD20 in the left knife pocket. Cell phone worn on belt and carry spare nitrile gloves in the small pockets on top of the cargo pockets. I wish there were more belt loops. So far they are great pants!
I bought some 5.11 Tactical pants yesterday on sale for $14! I totally love them.
The 5.11's do have the same type of elastic/adjustable waste system as well.
Wich I was kind of worried about as I have a small waist. 31 to be exact.
This is my first pair of Cargo/Tac. pants and I totally love them. Super comfortable and I plan on taking them out to the west desert and running them through the paces. Anyway I just wanted to say thanks for the pant reviews! I love being able to hear your review
Thanks. Another informative review.
Thanks for a great value add video
This is a man that carries no less than 2 knives on himself at all times, but not one single lighter
Thanks, just ordered some for the Fire Dept. That expanding waistband will be great after our big spagetti dinners.
I wear Tru-Spec for work my self. I hade one last me for well over a year of weekly use. Love them to death.
Great review. I really like that you are not afraid to show your utensils. I only carry a folding spoon. One day I'd like to be able to proudly carry a fork and knife too. I'm just not ready to take that step yet. BTW: I have a couple ot these pants... Love 'em.
@duragezic Great comment, thank you. Yes I still wear almost daily the 5.11 TacLite Pros and I too prefer that pocket configuration. These are a close second however and more cost effective; at least now! Tru-Spec makes some very squared away clothing. More to follow ;-)
I bought a pair of these for my bear hunt, I can't wait to put them through the paces. Very comfortable, even for us bigger guys.
Great pants , and they are comfortable also.
sounds both awesome and lucrative xD
Every time he refers to his dog as "Dogness" it makes me smile.
One of the few smiling pictures of Nutn! For some reason this one stuck out because it was a real big smile. I picked up some 5.11 Tac pants when they were on clearance but they seemed to run a little big, but I have a very small frame. With the stretching waist, maybe I can get a better cut with a smaller size in the Tru Specs. Thanks for posting!
and i was about to buy the 5-11's before i saw this video. i guess both of them have decent amount of positive and negative points about them but the tru spec seem pretty legit. thanks for the comparison nutn!
Another great vid. Good to see another pant option. Thank you for the review! Nutn, FYI...the opening vid title says 27/7.
thank you for this
Are these pant rising high up? Will the duty belt be worn a little higher than normal pants for example. Thank, awesome video sir.
I have about 5 pairs of their 24/7 shorts and they are are equally awesome for summer time.
Went and bought 3 pair wear them all the time they are great
Agree 24/7 tact great easy with elastic waist band for IWB carry . Put mine through hell , held up 1 yr . Tru spec made a lot of Mil-Issue Uniforms 80s -90s that were nameless back when we still used buttons .
Has OJ brought you any of the 65/35 Poly-co Black-Label Tac-Pants to try out (I've seen him rock'n some of the very pants in the vids)??? I'd be interested to hear your feelings on them. RIght now they're serving me 3 1/2 seasons in anything short of prolonged deep-snow or above the timberline here in the PNW.
just got a pair of the 24/7 shorts in tan. loving them so far. they are a bit stiff at first, but after a few washes and wearing them a bit they loosen up. def going to grab a couple more pairs.
Mean! I just ordered 4 pairs of these and was hoping they had plenty of pockets! Hard getting a hold of them down here in NZ though, having to get them shipped from Australia!
Great review, thanks very much!
bought the same pants two weeks ago, really like'em too.
just a heads up but Gander Mountain has the 5.11 Pro running around $40.00 & belts for egh $70.00... so what are your thoughts on Mountain Khakis webbing belt?
i added these to my cart on campmor a couple days ago while waiting for the paycheck, and now you have a review...schweeet
I have worn the TruSpec BDUs for almost 2 years now. I like the khaki, black and OD green colors. They have held up well. The side tabs do have an issue to holding fast, so I just wear a good belt with them...awesome value...will have to try the 24/7s
One thing I feel you might mention in future pant reviews is the belt loop positioned over your spine. In Snickers brand work pants this loop is very long and aids greatly in keeping the belt from riding up over the waist band. I look for this feature in my everyday wear pants. Something to consider, love the vids. Keep up the great work, thanks.
Good tip about the hip pocket slowing momentum if over filled.
Nice review Nutnfancy!
I'm looking forward to some more clothing video's.
Perhaps a tactical gilt review, such as your knive smith uses? - just a challenge ;)
Just looking at 5.11 today and thinking "wish it was cheaper." I am going to order a pair of 24/7 and see if I like them! TY buddy!!!
Nice pants review nutn
Hey, nutn awesome review! Will you be reviewing the condor tactical pants? Would be great to know what you think about those pants.
my current EDC pants. love the zip off pant legs for being in florida if it gets too hot the option is awesome
Owned these pants for a few months now.. Didnt know about the knife pocket untill i watched this vid. Ive been missing out.. -___-
love these pants. been wearing for over a year and they are still going strong. can't the storage.
Nutn, Have you checked out the shorts version of this pant? The Tac-lite pros shorts are just too short for me. I was hoping these are better. Thanks!
Dude I love these pants! The knife pocket is great for a leatherman, or a light, or keltec pf9 extra mag.... thanks for the review
@nutnfancy Keep doing what you do brother. THANKS !! Im heading to a VA gunshow today to check out machetes..Looking into Cold Steel options. I need to expose the raspberry vines around the property and lost last ones working the blueberries bushes ..somewhere. : 0 Have a great day!. Luke
bud these pants rock, I have 4 pairs for , i have no problem with these ,,, i where them every day. Do security work ,,, so all i carry needs to be hidden. love them, i do have to get down some times. they hold up. Good job on your reviews bro.. man part funny..
Nice review Nutn. Some folks have a hit or miss opinion, but I've had good experience also with the LA Police Gear pants. One thing often overlooked on pants is the number of belt loops. If you're carrying a larger gun (in my case a G19) having 7 belt loops instead of 5 for example, gives the belt more area to bear on and makes the gun actually carry more comfortably. However, these have those nice wide belt loops so that is a plus for sure.
@TheLateBoyScout Hey dude, thanks for dropping buy! The 24/7s are great alternatives; I still love the 5.11s too. OpsGear has them too. Peace.
I love these pants, comfortable, durable and they resist stains (i.e. red slushie that one of the kids spilled all over me). I carry a Spyderco Tenacious on the right and a CRKT drifter on the left, snug fit for one loose for the other but workable. I also like that they don't stand out to the sheep.
Great review... I will check them out. I like the price too.
LL Bean doesn't make any clothing in my size since I am a larger man... =(
I'll need to be out hiking a lot more to get in shape to wear their cloths.
Thank you for all your hard work.
fast question, does the skyline fit in the knife poket? i relly only skylines and i dont feel like buying a pair of pants then having to get more knives
on pretty much anything. I will see something that I want and think "I bet Nutn has a review of that!" and sure enough you do! I love how detailed all your reviews are. I like how in depth you go into all the gear you review. I think I am going to go back tonight and pick up another pair in fact. Next on my list is a Tac Vest. Wich you have multiple reviews on. I'm not sure if I should get a tac. vest or a plate carrier?? What do you prefer? Any opinions from the other TNPers on here??
Thanks
these are pretty good pants. I wear them in my civilian security job. They are great in the summer to keep cool and go through a "pajama phase" like the ACU does.
I've been wearing the 5.11 tac-lites since 5.11 brought them out. I've been very happy with them, they wear incredibly well and very comfortable in hot weather. I use the cell phone pocket for a mid sized flashlight and right knife pkt for a griptilian, a .380(wallet holster) in the right back and wallet in the left back pocket. Small notebook in the cargo pocket, cell on belt. I'm disappointed when I try anything else BUT these might work, they look promising, I might have to give them a try.
Nutn..... I mentioned your video to the Tru-Spec guys when I saw them St the NRA convention today. The guy I spoke to hadn't heard of you, but was really interested.
They look pretty similar to the 5 11 TDU's have you tried those? They are available in 65/35 polycotton and they were the first to have that expanding waist band.
Have you encountered any good "tactical" style short pants? Something like this but cut off at the knees and maybe a bit wider in the leg. I happen to wear shorts in the summer.
I'm trying to figure out a better system for work. I'm into alot of underground pipe jobs that are wet. Would you say these pants dry considerably faster then pure denim or 100% cotton canvas? Stuck on carpenter pants because it holds my daily load out of stickruler and markers :) but think these could work.
@TheLateBoyScout Wow...holy poop! I ordered them this morning and they've already been shipped! WOOOT!
nutn: Are there any "jeans" style tactical pants you would recommend? The fashion in my area is mostly jeans and not khakis like most (or all) tactical pants you reviewed. Need to blend in, hehe. Thanks for the awesome reviews!
Tru Spec made the trousers I was issued in basic.
I think you should do an update, the last couple of batches of TruSpecs have had seems bust out pretty quick in the crotch, the internal slot in the cargo pockets have seams rip out and are smaller sized. Plus the price is up with all "tactical" pants. Any new pants you're wearing? Can you get us a discount?
hey nutn, have you thought about or tried the tactical pants by Vertx? just wondering as i have heard they are really good. they are cotton though, so you may not like them.
@nutnfancy What knee/elbow pads do you use?
e.o update on the new Ascent please? aparently they now do have th gusseted crotch...
I might add that i find the pockets are designed like that for having a duty belt on with handcuffs two sets at the back baton all close to the back pockets i find they open great easy to get to unlike some other duty pants i have worn where the back pockets are almost useless when having a duty belt on also the wide belt straps work great and hold your belt in place great..
@nutnfancy Hey Nutn, that is the first time I have seen you wear knee-pads. Me and a buddy picked up some Damascus kneed pads, but I having second thoughts on wearing them in a SHTF scenario. I would seem to me that they would restrict my movement. What are your thoughts on this matter?
@TacticalHadoken I hope you don't mind me chipping in Hadoken, but I've used the 5.11 Taclite Pros in some very similar environments. For me, due to them being 65% polyester and 35% polycotton ripstop and the Teflon coating, they made me sweat like crazy in the hot and humid days in Nepal and Peru. But, in the cooler evenings, the water resistant coating and warmth was superb. They do make a 100% cotton trouser, but then these (supposedly) are too heavy and take ages to dry out. Keep looking!
I carry a checkbook style wallet.. so I love the deep back pocket.. I've also tossed folding saws back there when outings.. Maybe a wallet chain would help?
what color are the pants your reviewing? navy, olive drab?
I think those extra pockets you got with the pants that you deemed useless must have been a limited time offer because I got mine a year or two ago and never got those pocket organizers or whatever they were. But I agree. I bought these pants for the price. I compared it to the 5.11 Taclite pants and saw these were a better price. I was wondering though. How is the velcro holding up on the 5.11 pants?
do you prefer 50/50 nyco or 65/35 polyester cotton?
great info nutn, but whats with the audio?
Is your mic all messed up?
Can you please do a review on the 511 strike pants.
? the taclite pros do have a strechy waistband?
Of course you didn't see that Multicam. Its really that good!
If You put one AR mag and 2 pistol mags in the cargo pockets is it comfortable?
+William Thorton Comfortable as it gets but running the banging into the leg gets tiresome. Also the side of the pocket being sewn down can make getting them out less than optimal.
I have a few pairs of these for work I can only wear Khaki or Black Pants (no jeans), I had some other brands found at Walmart, but kept ripping pant legs on cable/wire and pallets etc. So I went with the 24/7's because of the rip stop and they are awesome ! While they are double the price of the other brands they last a lot longer. And They are super comfortable ! And the Elastic is good for IWB concealed carrying it off sets the one side only not both.
what color did u use alot in paintballing?
Hey Nutn , just a quick observation when it comes to the cellphone pocket . I think that the idea was that a lot of people carry their phones with vibration only (as in no sound) , so if you have the pocket lower then all the crap that you carry around in the other pockets will not interfere with the feel of the vibration . If you have the pocket up high by the regular side pocket then all that junk that you carry will prevent you from feeling the vibration and will make you miss the call :)
thanks for another Full On In depth Review dude
I had Purchased a Large quantity of The Truspec Line Combat style pants a few years back and was really Disappointed after just a few weeks of cycling about 4 pairs of them I was Plagued with Fraying and These little "dingleberry" type little cloth fiber balls all over the pants Knees , side leg and butt of the pants .But after watching this vid I Might just give TRU Spec a try again . You have any coupon Codes for a discount?
The knife pocket, fits a lot of different flashlights. I like it for that POU better.
How heavy are the pants?
