  • In this tutorial we explain the process of filling air bubbles and voids in cast resin parts. For this video, we cast an EasyFlo 90 figurine from a TinSil 80-15 silicone mold. You can find our selection of casting resins here: www.brickinthe...

Instead of dispensing your SuperGlue directly from the tube, squeeze a bit of the glue onto a piece of cardboard (I use a small index card). Put the end of a toothpick into the glue. The toothpick will pick up a small amount of the glue. If you get too much onto the toothpick, you can "dab" the excess back onto the cardboard. The gob of glue will hang down off the end of the toothpick. Touch the bottom of the glue gob to your baking soda. The glue will wick into the baking soda. You also have much better control of the toothpick than with a large tube of glue.

Interesting, didn't know the baking soda and superglue combo, i saw others use superglue and talcum powder and for larger holes i like to use something similar to a drywall spackle paste that's easily thinned with water, used it to fill and sand 100 mm layers and it turned out very smooth.
