@@recollectionsphotobooth There’s a little old lady we go to all the time I believe she’s on the corner of Armitage and Kedzie or Armitage and Kimball one of the two corners she’s right in front of the grocery store 👍
Hi, it comes down to the freezing method/sugar content. Because we aren’t using a Ice Cream machine where the crystallization process involves constant movement. With this method it’s important to pay special attention to blend as “freeze” as posible
@@homecookchefs6202hey i know im 2 years late but I just started trying to make this just like you except I only put 2 tablespoons of sugar. It tastes great but the texture is pretty icy/gritty. Is it because I didnt put 4 tablespoons of sugar? Let me know if you could please. I also let it freeze overnight which was like 11 hours, does that matter?
I was thinking the same thing. I know it has to stay cold to do its thing, but I was thinking of freezing milk or coconut milk for creamier, richer concoction. I'm just making this tonight for the first time, following these instructions. I'll see how that goes.
I need a dairy free recipe due to lactose intolerance, so I will try to make it without the cow’s milk or substitute using almond milk. Thanks for the video! Gracias😊
I hope that your not puerto rican because that sugar was not necessary. Why I'm so glad that you asked because the cream of coconut 🥥 was more than sweet enough. Further more you just destroyed this dessert even more that I grew up with by adding ice which is water meaning you diluted it . Lucky for you my grandma is not here because she would have texted something extra . Keep it simple no water or extra sugar unbelievable your so fired. 😋🥊
My wife and I been enjoying this for many years in the Humble park area in Chicago 🇵🇷💯🙏
Me too!! I love it from Humboldt Park! I've since moved to Puerto Rico and they don't make it like Chicago ☹️
@@jessica1171 sorry to hear that .. maybe when you come back one day you can enjoy it once again 🙏💯🇵🇷
Glad I read the comments lol trying to make the coco how I would get it from humbolt park!!

@@williamromero4445 haha yess!! On kimball there's a grocery store
Sooo good. Tastes like what we bought from the coco truck as kids.
Thanks for the love. Really appreciated
That’s what I’m looking for!!’ Like the ones from the truck as a kid!!
There was a man who sold it outside of schools too!! I hope this is the one ☝️ 😊
So good. Closest thing to the coquito you buy from the carts in the Bronx!
Thanks!! hope you enjoy making it.
Fk u mean "closest thing"? Why are the recipes to make coco helados from NYC as difficult to obtain than the secret recipe from KFC?
❤ love fresh coconut
I love love love this recipe. ❤
Delicious ice cream yum
Thx! I was
Looks yummy
The coquito man doesn’t get enough credit. Making all that coquito the night before he spends all day in the sun.
Wow beautifully made. Ty
Thanks buddy
If only I had I good blender 🙃 this looks just like the ones from growing up.
Ooooo Gracias mucho Homecookchef!!!!
Omg, omg, thank you.
Can I leave out the whole milk for more coconut milk instead?
Absolutely!
Definitely ✅ instead of whole milk you can use coconut evaporated milk too
Hiiii. Does this taste like the helados coconut bolis you can get at the grocery store??? I’m gonna make it + see, it looks soooo yummy 😋
Will it be totally ruined if I didn’t partially freeze the coconut milk before I mixed it?
i am going to save up on a blender ;-; i wanna try combining this with ube powder! thank you for the recipe and instructions!
Sounds like a plan! Let us know how it turns out. Happy holidays
omg 😢🤤
San\me blender as me, wooo
Something is missing 😳 the specs 😕 little tiny black specs 😞 I imagine that it is cinnamon 🤗 Real , truck coquito ice cream!!!
That would be vanilla bean
Specs=vanilla
When using real coconut the PEAL gives the brown specks🙂
Is the coconut cream needed for this or can I do without?
Coconut cream is only needed if you don’t have fresh cut up or blended fresh coconut pulp
Flavor is on point but how to I get rid of the gritty texture?

If you have a big blender can you just put it all in the big blender and mox
So sad... allergic to milk ! Can I sub anything else fir the cows milk?
Anything is possible! Probably will have to revise the ingredients proportions.
The only sad about this is, if you don’t have a blender in this day & age you can’t fully complete this delicacy
There’s so many ways of making it in TH-cam but looks like this is the closest to the ones that they sell in Logan square chicago
Too sweet
I make it with the real recipe, real coconut milk, and corn starch, vanilla, sugar and salt, nothing else. In the machine
Please tell us how😊

How much cornstarch & sugar to each cup of coconut milk?
You put coco Lopez plus sugar ?? That's crazy.

That coconut milk brand is terrible.
Please, make sure to speak a little louder. Thanks
