    Portuguese cuisine "the best" and "very diverse"? Maybe if you eat meat. In my experience, Portugal was the hardest country in Europe to find a vegetarian meal in a restaurant, even in central Lisbon. I don't mean to throw shade, I'm just sharing my observation. I really like your channel!

      I’m sorry you had this experience! I actually find Lisbon very diverse in terms of vegetarian / vegan options. But maybe not in the traditional Portuguese restaurants.

    I'm portuguese and lived in London for a while as well as the US. I spent my whole life in Portugal and now am considering moving. I visited the Netherlands for a short while a couple of years ago, been to Rotterdam and a couple of other cities too....but was really dissappointed with Amsterdam - which is the city I hoped I'd be really impressed by.
    It felt sooo crowded, not just Amsterdam itself, but other places in the Netherlands - that is what struck me the most. I left London only because of being away from nature (parks dont count) and for how crowded and claustrophobic it can get.
    I looooove cultural offering in a city, but I really need to be close to nature as well...so it's hard. Maybe I need to explore other places in the Netherlands, but without a strong cultural offering in the town I'm in, I find it hard to justify a move for myself.
    Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Tudo de bom :)

    Hi Beatriz, came across your channel while searching for a living comparison between Portugal and the Netherlands. I’m from India is used to the subtropical climate (humid summers and dry and warm winters). I’m thinking of moving to either of NL and PT. Portugal is my first preference due to climate, friendliness of locals and a very safe country. My only worry is to get a job (I don’t speak any Portuguese yet) and make decent living. Whereas in the NL, as you said career progression is much more easier and well paid. But I’m not sure about unpredictable overcast, rainy weather in the NL. Could you tell me some of the major in demand job sectors in both countries? Obrigado 🙏

    I am from The Netherlands just moved back to Amsterdam from 2.5years in Spain. I would love to do a few months in Portugal (working remote)this year! When you say Dutch cuisine, do you mean from the native Dutch? Because its true noone likes that haha but I do like the food of the immigrants here Caribbean, Chinese etc more than in Spain as I felt like the Spanish food started to become repetitive.

      As you are from Portugal, can I ask you some questions about Portugal.
      I'm Dutch, retired and in my sixtees and want to move to Portugal.
      Without my wife I have to pick up my Life again and want to spent the rest of my Life in Portugal. I hope to meet a nice Portugese lady and maybe a family again, as I don't have that here. With a nice family, I could be the 'uncle with the presents.'
      What are the ways to meet nice Portugese ladies in their fiftees / sixtees?
      And how could I get into contact with a 'student' who can help me one day every 2 weeks to do jobs like work in the garden or washing my cars. And what do I pay per hour to a 20 year old boy/Girl?
      And maybe can you tell me where I can get Portugese tax information?
      Obrigada
      P.S. Maybe I can help you with your questions about The Netherlands?
      You can always ask them.

    Nice video. I can relate to many of your arguments, maybe not on healthcare but on most other thing i can. But what fascinates me is that on the chart of happiest people on earth The Netherlands ranks number 5 and Portugal ranks only at number 57. In Fact a lot of north European country's rank high and southern country's rank substantially lower. Do you have an explanation for this? I find it mind boggling because i always associate the southern country's with sun, sea, and a relaxed and happy way of living and life.

      Hey! I believe it’s money related. Portuguese people are low income earners. Having a higher income allows you to be more stress-free and do things you actually enjoy, instead of counting every last euro every month

    • @jeanlundi2141
      @jeanlundi2141 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's money Gedo. Everything in this capitalistic world revolves around money. The Dutch, Norwegians, Swedes etc haven''t found the social formula for a happy life........their basic needs are just much better met than nearly everyone else in the world. Here in Portugal the NATURAL ingredients are indeed all here to have an optimal lifestyle, but 740 euros (minimum income) a month doesn't help your nervous system fully relax to be able to enjoy it.

    Portugal is a great country and i love the Portugese people but don't forget they receive a lot of EU money to stay great.
    Total EU-funds payed to Portugal: 5,011 billion euro annual.

    • @TexanRibs4312
      @TexanRibs4312 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      To stay great? My man, Portuguese Governments waste all of the money that the EU gives them. Don't blame the Portuguese people, we can't dictate where the money goes. Portugal is very badly governed and the corruption is insane. We are the poorest country in western europe mainly because our governments are so corrupt and inept.
      All of those funds are wasted year after year. Like she said in the videos, portuguese people keep struggling all the time here. High cost of living and ridiculously low wages.

    Just came back from Lisbon. The dirtiest city I ever seen so far, smelled like pee everywhere. Lots of beggars. Also very expensive for no reason. Architecture is all over the place and unkempt. Food is mostly salty and uncreative.
