I love it so much that he is one of the few TH-camrs that dont take money for their DIY Design, this is the first video i've watched from you and followed you immediately after it
As someone with ZERO diy experience, this looks simple, sturdy, and most importantly REALISTIC in terms of recreation. I'm very excited to attempt my own.
I'm so glad to hear that! I think anything is simple when you break it down step by step. I tend to just give things and go and hope to show others that it doesnt have to be complicated haha and if I make it complicated you see my mistakes along the way :) Joe
Thank you! I like it! The only thing I will do differently is put the closing latch on the side, so my arm doesn't hit the poking up thing on the right side of my tabletop. Thank you very much for this!
Thank you for the fantastic video! Looking to build a wall desk for a guest bedroom. I watched a lot of videos, and this was by far the best - easy to follow and seems completely do-able! Greatly appreciate the time you put into this.
I've seen about two dozen videos on Murphy Desks, but this is the first that all around nails it. Great job; now to flip this out of metric so I can make it lol
Fantastic!! But i can't read clearly the dimensions needed to be cut. Can you please write the length of the blue, red, green and purple stripes. thank you!
I just built this desk using the same hinges. However, there is a 10mm gap at the hinge when the desk is open flat. This causes some play and movement when weight is put on the desktop. Does your desk have the same slight movement? If not, how did you make it not move when weight is applied?
I just made one to use as a laptop storage and desk. I would post a photo but i cant dobit here. Anyways good job thx for the inspiration. And you got yourself a new subbs
Thank you! I’d love to see the fold-down desk you made! If you post it on other social media please tag On A Budget so we can see it 😊 Really glad the video was of help! Joe
Great desk and demo, thanks! Very clear instructions. fyi - the music is unbearably loud. Please don't put music in any DIY or demo videos. It is very unpleasant.
It's really rigid with the chains in place. I was hoping the gas struts would have worked but I wasnt happy with them. The chains are solid though :) Joe
Hi Uriel, hopefully I'm right in thinking you mean the gas struts, you can try here www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07T3PG5G5?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share Cheers, Joe
Joe, what type of chain did you use and I can kind of see you fix these with screws only? I tried struts and it was a massive fail - the box wouldn't stay closed lol! Complete opposite to yours, think I may have chosen too high of a pressure (120N).
I had the same issues with the struts mate. They just didn’t seem to work for me. I added a latch on the one corner to keep it closed. The chain I used was the 2mm chain from B&Q. The screw heads where bigger than the gap between each link so it held it great. Hope that helps mate 🙂 Joe

Coloring your pieces in the video to reference your plans is a great idea I hope more creators start to do. Excellent idea, and great video.
Thanks mate! I think it helps to keep track of everything as the build goes along. 😊 Joe
@@WatchShareSave I agree with that!

A very nice video. Clear instructions without annoying music. Well done!
was just gonna buy folding brackets and attach to plywood... but nevermind. doing this. thanks to you. :)
I like it. I want to do something similar to this for my home lab so I can separate work/study with hobby stuff.
Very helpful video. I noticed others used the pistons so I appreciated that you said they were not ideal. Thank you. I will use chains as well.
love the idea, easy to do it without buying new materials.
Hi, was wondering how to access the cutting list? Thanks!
it looks simple, but i hope i can follow all your instruction.... Thank you for share...

Thank you! :) Joe
Nooo, imperial is so complicated! Step into the light and enjoy the amazing simplicity of the metric system :)
That is so good and space saving absolutely!
I’m think maybe find an drawl from an old set of drawers maybe as a start!
A well made presentation and great job. Best wishes Mike in County Durham
Hi. Many thanks for the video! Where can I find the measurements of the boards? Thank you again
Fantastic!! But i can't read clearly the dimensions needed to be cut. Can you please write the length of the blue, red, green and purple stripes. thank you!
Hi this looks great, is there any way i could get the measurements please
Thank you! I kept finding crazy super over complicated builds and this is exactly what I wanted. Simple and easy. ❤

thank you so much. I want to build mine now. Just need to find a guide for the size of the wood pieces.
Nice and practical
Can be made by anyone.

Excellent work Joe. Can you give any tips as to where to find a chain like this? Cannot seem to find it anywhere!!
Thanks Rachel! I got mine from B&Q. I think a lot of the big Hardware stores do carry it. If all else fails Amazon has everything haha :) Joe
Nice project for these times Joe 👍👍

Great idea, nice video, added to favorites. Thanks!
Must buy a drill got a little one but don’t think it’s big enough fine for putting up blinds though!
Nice Job. Thanks for sharing. 😉
Is there much spring in the desk?
Inspired by your video I would like to show you what I built. How can I do that?
Just found this and subscribed this is just what I need and I’m a lady soon to be pensioner will find a way 😂
Hey mate could u please write down the dimension for the red and blue Pieces as they're really hard to see
Hi mate could you please write down the dimensions for the red and blue pieces as I can't really understand them
Great tutorial! Thanks!
Awesome work as usual Joe 🙌
I liked it!
I can see having a hole drilled in the bottom to allow power cords to go through ... power for the laptop and cell phone might be handy.
Where can I find the cut list?
Beautiful❤
hermoso trabajo saludos desde chile
Love your videoc, can you put the dimensions in inches please.
Boa noite!
Estou muito feliz em poder assistir um vídeo, tão enriquecedor.
Parabéns, pelo que você faz!

Very Nice 👌
Really helpful video!!
Hi mate, turned out lovely! Was wondering where you recommend to buy and have the ply cut? B and q looks expensive!
Thanks
Great desk and demo, thanks! Very clear instructions.
fyi - the music is unbearably loud. Please don't put music in any DIY or demo videos. It is very unpleasant.
Great job….
Has anyone been able to find something like this for curved monitors?
Hi mate, what height from floor to bottom would you recommend to fit this to the wall?
So cool bro
Thanks! :) Joe
. Beautiful!
Love it mate. My next project. 👍
Thanks mate! Really glad you liked it ! Joe
Very helpful. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks Ishup
👍 keep up the good work sir.
How ridged is the desk if you apply a little pressure?
It's really rigid with the chains in place. I was hoping the gas struts would have worked but I wasnt happy with them. The chains are solid though :) Joe
@@WatchShareSave sweet, I’ll use this design the. 🤙🏼
great video
Thank you Danny!
That is so cool and I think I could do this!!!
You'll have to let us know if you ever give it a go! OAB
Can you share the complete schematic with dimensions, please.
Super, c'est ce que je cherchais !
✨👍✨
Génial!
Thank you! 😊 Joe
Hello can you provide me the measurements of the table please?
What thickness plywood did you use mate?
18mm thick plywood 👍 Joe
@@WatchShareSave glad to hear that! Chose some 18mm instead of 12mm, will be interesting to see how this goes lol!
Awesome
Exelente mueble !! Tienes las medidas de cada tabla para hacerlo?
what size chain & where to buy
I used 3mm diameter chain from B&Q. Most hardware stores will stock it though 👍 Joe
I like your videos. Full of inspiration! What tool do you use for your 3D animations?
Thank you! I use google sketchup. It’s great for modelling the project and then for animation too 😊 Joe
Good morning, could I ask you for the measurements of each table? Thank you so much
Nice! well done.
Thank you!
Love it. Where did you buy the shocks looking thingys?
Hi Uriel, hopefully I'm right in thinking you mean the gas struts, you can try here www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07T3PG5G5?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Cheers, Joe
Good video mate 👍
Nice
Drawers!
Where can I find the template ?
I don't have a template at the moment, sorry about that - Joe
Please, You can share the measurements. In the imagen no see the measurements clear. I like your video....
good job
Nice video Cheers
Thanks Sean! 🙂
Nicely done mate!
Can you share the cutting list?
Also, what are the dimensions of the board you screwed on the back, to set the frame in the wall?
I don’t have a cutting list at this time unfortunately. The back piece was 125mm wide but you could get away with 100mm wide too 🙂 Joe
Can I ask what program you are using for the design work
I use google sketchup its a great piece of free software. Helps a lot for design work out cutting lists - Joe
