you must become a citizen of the united States in order to change it here, however you can change it in your home country and it will be absolutely valid here

well, I know you can seek therapy and other professional help but you'll need to have some kind of insurance like Medicaid or Blue Cross Blue Shield. you also might be better off asking the therapist/psychiatrist if they would categorize your therapy under "depression/anxiety" so that your insurance will completely cover it. you may have some issues with insurance until you become a citizen, but other than that it shouldn't be all that difficult. however, top surgery, T, and bottom Surgeries are in no way covered by most insurance plans here in the US I suggest saving up, cause it can range anywhere from 7-10 thousand for top surgery, and its even worse with bottom surgery due to the multiple procedures. I haven't even started T yet due to financial issues, but if you save up, as I am, you'll be able to afford it, especially if you get help from places like Planned Parenthood.
I'll try this then I know I have to pay for surgeries and T, that's not the problem.. The only thing I really am worried about is the first steps to get to T. That's it, and if I can do this before becoming a citizen.. I'm more than happy! Much less chances to be depressed or angry though Becoming a citizen is like 5 years or so, huh? The LGBT centers here in socal have workshops that help you fill out your paperwork and they have Lawyers that volunteer to help you with the process
