Great video, thanks. I found with the "fill plug" that applying pressure with your thumb directly over it in a clockwise or circular pattern gets it back in the hole in seconds.
PERFECT! Solved my problem. My trolly jack all of a sudden would not lift very high and even then it would deflate upon its own weight. My jack is 30 years old and when buying the hydraulic oil I had a choice between AW-32 or AW-46 ("W-46 which is thicker and less likely to leak from an older machine") I drained the old oil and followed your video - 10/10 - Thanks!
Excellent. I’m glad the video helped. Sagging during lift is most likely due to air in the ram. Glad you were able to fix it. And thanks for the tip about the thicker oil. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe

If you screw the valve all the way out(be prepared for oil to come out) there will be an o ring in the hole where the valve sits. Remove the o ring and inspect for damage. If damaged take to local hardware store to buy replacement. Then refill jack and repeat the purge process in this video. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
Do you any jack pads for this jack shown here and if so what size? I have a trolley jack that has what seems to be the same size saddle but I haven’t been able to find pads for it
I never use jack pads for this jack. If you look on Amazon they have many Jack pads ranging from 2” to 4”. You will have to measure your saddle to check that the one you order will fit.
Was there a load on the jack? Could be many causes. Sometimes the spring make a bang noise the first time they are stretched. Is the vehicle within the weight limit of the jack? Are you sure it was the jack that made the boom and not the vehicle that was being lifted?
@@BillOfAllTrades2016 yeah there was a load. 1.3T and Jack is rated 3T. I'm 90% sure cuz I checked the car and no damage to the pinch weld and I tried different places. It makes the sound when its getting hard to pump the lever but only at 60% height. Now I'm afraid to use it. What to do?
@@BillOfAllTrades2016 I have purged it like in the video and manual. But I lost confidence using it past 50% but dont want to waste money and would like to learn to repair my own car..
@@BillOfAllTrades2016 Thanks for replying. I actually have two with the same problem. Both when jacked up halfway stay in position over night. One when jacked up fully until the side bars touch the frame stayed up after 1hr the second runs out just short of the side bars hitting the body and when pumping is stopped sags a little and then remains at height for 1hr+ The pump action on the second is noticeably heavier on the second than the first.
That is not normal. Most likely your seal is worn out. If you pull that valve all the way out there is a small o ring that can be replaced. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
I’ve had many a jack arrive that wouldn’t work proper. I don’t know if they just don’t fill it enough. Some I’ve seen in reviews leaked out because they were shipped laying upside down or sideways. Glad this video helped you though. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe

Just used this to add oil to my jack in the UK. It needed a LOT. Getting rubber bung back in was a trial but all seems to work proper now!

How do I get the jack to go down. It has worked well for 5 years but now won't go down.
Hello. My floor jack is leaking oil from the release valve. Is there a fix for this? Thank you very much for your videos.

I tried using my floorjack for the first time and it made a booming sound. Is it because of air?

So what if once topped up and purged multiple times, it only lifts a car upto half it's ability?
The seal on the ram may be worn out. When you jack it up with no load and leave it for 20 minutes does the jack sag down at all?

Is it worth to change the seal or just keep on refilling the oil?
Depends on the brand and cost of the jack. You will have to price out seal kits and compare the cost to buying a new jack.
This was very helpful, since jack didn’t work when it was delivered.
