It is the most worst and devastating romance that scarlett imposes on Rhett heart,soul,mind and spirit to the extent that Rhett needs to survive to the surface and keep himself out of this cycle of destruction that scarlett practices again and again.over every part of his self,existence and entity .
Yes. Ironically, Ashley outsmarted Rhett all the way. He knew since the beggining that Scarlet wasn`t a wife material. Rhett gambled everything for her like a fool, and his reward was losing a fortune on her, losing 2 children and gained a cuckold reputation. I truly believe that by the end, he really was done with her; that`s why the sequels simply doesn`t work. We all know that Rhett will never return to Scarlett.

Both of them were very strict with eachother ..each person loves their own way .. she truly loved him ..he truly loved her when they realized..it was not over ..there is a part two of gone with the wind I can never remember the name.. & they did reunite .. they loved eachother their own way .. he was good to her she was good to him..
