LOL. This was literally my theme song on my wedding day. Partied all night with my best man and future brother in law. Left 4 hours in advance about a 2 hour round trip from ky to Tn too get my tux and get ready. The northbound side of I75 had partially collapsed on the route back. 40 minutes late, hung over, dressed in the car, dry shaved best I could and feeling rough, I made it. The wife and i have been going 95 mph for nearly 27 years now.. Glad I made it and glad she waited.
I have only been married for 2 years, and I remember that wedding day. It was in our back yard because of f'n covid. My now mother-in-law would not leave me alone. I was like, "look I have to get in the shower and get dressed, I have 50 people waiting outside." She just kept on bugging me about food and decorations. My mother was like "let him go get a damn shower." Then the Maid of Honor came in the room and said "LEAVE HIM ALONE HE NEEDS TO GET READY." Mind you I had known my wife for 25 years at the time...we just were too shy to say something back then. Everything turned out great though. Congrats on 27 years. And trust me, I had about 9 beers before our reception...my mother-in-law was stressing me the hell out. She said "You can't be drinking before the ceremony." I said "The hell I can't, I am 35 years old...watch me."
It's crazy because it happens to me all the time people say who is that what band are they new never heard such great music I just laugh and shake my head if you were raised on music like this you were raised right
Great band and I love Marty Raybon's voice. Heard these guys in Tampa, Florida in '95 and they sung this song and the whole crowd started singing along. Miss this kind of country music. Classic!
That’s awesome! I live in Tampa, too. Where did you go to see them at? I think the only live music I saw that year was 98 Rock’s Livestock at Festival Park. It was my first year going and a memorable one at that. I bet your show was a great one!
@@brian5o They were at Tampa Stadium (the ol' sombrero) for the Tampa Bay Bucs Fan Fest '95. About 25,000 fans were on hand at the stadium that day in May of 1995. Saw Warren Sapp and Mark Spindler and Derrick Brooks and some other Tampa players. It was a lot of fun and Shenandoah was the headliners for the concert.
BOY OH BOY Glad I'm still around to hear good music after that Hellofa,,, GET THIS !!!!SNOW STORM down here in DALLAS TX LOL IT WAS FREEZING BALLS ;) GOD BLESS GOOD COUNTRY!! AND TEXAS !!!
Me too! Cute video but I would have left 5 hours early and had 3 cars following me for backup. I would have been hanging out at the church before dawn, no chance of me being late for her! (Would have made a dull video though).
This great song turns out of the blue, gonna make move your feet and dance wherever you are. I loved listen to it since first time i heard it in the 90s. That's pure true good country music ❤
Great country music!!!! I remember as a kid when Shenandoah played at the San Angelo Rodeo in the early 90s. Loved this song from that day on. Thank You Shenandoah!!!!!
I'm 52 years old and must have discovered your music in the later 80s early 90s and I've always loved your music. Never had a chance to tell you guys what a great group you. And I agree with it it was actually really music and country music back and the '80s and the 90s. Keep up the good work shenandoah! Come to Bismarck North Dakota. I would love to see you guys in concert.
Music with humour and good song writing, sadly missing in todays music. As said by so many people before me, it`s classic country, I dont think we will ever see it again :((
Got lead singer coming out of radio station my state MN and later had go back to work and later saw in concert. Once was over had go back to work again, Later. Meet lead singer at my church. In 1998. Was tent and later saw in celebration church but loss my voice . My late pastor Lowell Lundstroms was very special. My childhood day at state fair hanging around station in 70, 80. Great memories lane. Awesome Song. Two Dozen Roses
I my gosh I came across this on Facebook so I had to come over to U Tube to hear this fantastic song from these four amazing musicians, thanks I enjoyed the song
I remember watching this video with my grandma on tnn she got kick out of this song what good memories i miss her but its great i can listen to these great tunes back in the days when music was great
I had forgotten about this song until I went to a festival recently to see Confederate Railroad and a cover band played it. I was thinking "Wow, I was a young kid when this came out...and now I am 37."
Calling all fellow fans of SHENANDOAH! We need to get a petition sent to the GreenLight company in Indianapolis to demand that a replica of the classic 1971 Ford F350 is issued in 1/64 scale diecast in order to give us fans a worthwhile piece of good merchandise as well as possibly giving all of the surviving members of the group a merchandising royalty check.
Song always reminds me of my wedding day lol. Partied all night with the groomsmen. Woke up and started partying again. Several guys went to pick up their girlfriends so it left my brother and I drinking and enjoying my last free day lol. In the end the wedding started at 9 and we left my house at 8:50. My brother shifted that ol 5 speed F250 like Dale Earnhardt while I buttoned up my shirt on the flatbed trying to let the wind knock the swisher sweet smoke smell out of my hair lol. We arrived smiley as could be. Noone suspected a thing as far as I could tell lol
I love this even though it is my first time watching this video and it is awesome and my daddy looked it up on TH-cam and it is amazing! Thanks for the song so much love it!!!!!!!😍😍😍😍😍
I’m planning on surprising my dad by playing this song (his favorite ) on the piano and I’m gonna have my step mom sing it! Do you mind posting a tutorial on how to play this?
I saw Shanandoah‘s lead singer at the riverboat casino about two months ago, I wanted to let him know I knew who he was without making it weird so I said “are you glad you got to the church on Cumberland Road in time? He laughed and responded “ two marriages that I wish I would not have made it on time brother”
We had planned on one place and ok but last minute my brother who was officiated wedding called to change venue I no happy camper and ready to leave but we finally 🚶 a block to a small park with pretty arbor with dad walking down the aisle and under some trees it was beautiful! Mom took some pictures.
"The Church on Cumberland Road" was Shenandoah's first music video released in 1989, and features the band driving in a 1972 Ford pickup truck. It was directed by Larry Boothby. At the beginning of the video, a portion of their previous single "Mama Knows" is heard, causing the music to fail on a cassette player, as he takes the cassette out. The cassette is all tangled up in Raybon's hand. The band got out of their truck, and Raybon watches as the other members change the tire, and the truck wouldn't start; so they fill the gas, and drive again. In the end, the band performs the song in a church.👍
I’m actually quite pleased to see that that old Ford truck had the proper number of pedals. [X][X] [] BTW, even if it had a 300-6, I don’t think it would’ve been that slow.

Right on brother
There is nothing funnier than playing music that I was raised on in today's era and everyone thinking that it is some new artist.
That has never happened to you.
It's crazy because it happens to me all the time people say who is that what band are they new never heard such great music I just laugh and shake my head if you were raised on music like this you were raised right
These were the best years of my entire life when this was new!!!!!☝️😪😪😪😪 I so miss this era of great living!!!!
Who's listening to this in 2024

People older

Judy...82 and enjoyed another real song.😊
Man I miss this kinda country
Yes absolutely this is the real country music
It's slowly making a comeback. The same with outlaw country. We saw Whiskey Myers a few months back and it was packed. It sold out. Great show too.
Sugarfoot’s Barbecue in the Texas town of Arlen where propane salesman Hank Hill lives still has the original vinyl 45RPM on its jukebox.
Me too
Maybe even the jukebox at The Boar’s 🐗 Nest in good Hazzard County.
Back when music was Actually good music
Definitely!!
You got that right. The stuff they call country now is junk
True! A classic and a 100% music

Then how come a 1972 Ford F350 has a 1971 grill?
I love the '68 F350 one ton flatbed that was used in this video. Anyone know where it is at this moment?
That’s be great to see now!
Grille is a '71 or maybe '72, definitely not 1968.
