One decluttering tip that I found helpful was: don’t sidetrack your momentum by going through papers at this time.Instead,put them all in a large laundry basket and later,on a rainy Sunday afternoon,put on a favorite movie (that you’ve seen before so you’re not worried about concentrating on the movie)and set up a sturdy,lined trash can and a few broad categories on the coffee table like taxes,sentimental,action,etc. It makes the process ALMOST enjoyable.😂😅🤣
This video really hit home for me. I always think that if I buy something…I’ll feel better. It’s such a trap and total lie! The high of shopping is so short-lived. Then, one day you’re overwhelmed by the clutter. I totally get it! 😂 So glad you are cutting your losses…I am too! Thank you so much for sharing! 💜
Hi Jen! I’m catching up on your videos, seems I missed a lot. This reminds me of when I made over my office like 5 yrs ago? (new flooring & furniture etc) and got rid so much stuff! It was a process for sure! You will get there. 💜👍💜👍💜👍💜
I feel you on the box thing aka the American girl boxes. I just recently got rid of my willow tree boxes that my willow tree angels came in. Why was I holding on to them?
Think about this maybe? If you do re sell them how much added value does having the box add to them probably only maybe $5 or $10??? Is that worth it. I decided it wasn’t for me plus I’m probably never selling them. I bought them in remembrance of my mom, sister, aunt , and my beloved fur baby Calvin.
Thanks for sharing the ups and downs of your decluttering journey. This room looks like a tough one but you made a really good dent in it! My spare room was in this transitional state at one point too. It was originally my daughter's play room but then it turned into a hybrid home office as well so a computer desk, filing cabinet, and printer were added, along with all the usual office supplies.
New subscriber here,If I’m correct in assuming that you are a teacher,couldn’t you bring the extra pens,pencils,markers and miscellaneous office supplies to your classroom? EVERYONE always says that’s a need.
