Hey there, thanks for the feeds. This is one of the best we've got even it's a negative one at the end. We can say that huge part of the problems with the game come from a very "weird" positioning and PR since a while on, with no communication/updates/etc. We tried to be clear about what we were delivering and it has always been a game "in between" old school classics and modern action RPG. So Infinity Engine games -> visuals [BG] + 3D mechanics in a iso view & stamina based -> combat [DS]. We always said that quests would have been streamlined and not with 100 different dialog options or endings [btw, there are a few with consequences that you could have missed] and we always said that there was no way to let 3D mechanics work in full iso [but still[. That's our idea of "in between" which leads sometime to comparisons that could be misleading because Alaloth is not [and want not] to be BG or Diablo [and we can't anyway for obvious reasons]. Given that, the whole gamedev process has been cursed for many reasons but as you said [and that's why we are here] we monitor everything and everyone and get feeds and we are going improve the game as much as possible, without changing our vision [which of course can't make everyone happy, that's legit]. Balancing is the prio because yep and it comes with economy and stuff but we need some more time because as we said, we needed to have all the items, weapons, armors in-game to start the process. And we've are just adding the last batch [1000+ things to iterate everytime]. Watiting for a new review later on this year ;)
Thanks for dropping in @Gamera Interactive. As I said many times in the review: I am rooting for this game, however regretfully cannot endorse it fully at this moment. At the same time, I'm hoping you make it work precisely as you intended, given your involvement in the process, visible all the time on Steam and Disco. As mentioned, it's a labor of love and you sure do love your project. So here's to interating till it's exactly as you envisioned it! Cheers!
I wholeheartedly disagree with this review. Your game is amazing and for an early access game it's stunning. Most early access games don't even provide 1/4 of the playtime yours does. I don't see how anyone can reasonably look at an early access game as well done as this one and be upset about things that are easily fixed. The reviewer clearly doesn't understand the spirit of your work. As a long time fan of games like Baldur's Gate and Dark Souls this game hits an amazing niche.
i am an older gamer, so i understood what they were shooting for. games like elden ring, diablo 3, and other open world RPGs have lost sight about what is important. why should i care to grind to level 100+? why should i want to do 1.3B damage so i can grind a harder version of the same dungeon? Alaloth isn't a 10/10 for me, but i don't need to have relationships with everyone in the world. i don't need to care about other factions. i do like to roleplay a character, and this game gives you enough of a push to create a narrative for yourself to motivate you through the game. i love that i only get a certain amount of skills or have a certain amount of time to defeat an evil enemy who also wants to kill me. why should they wait around for me to get stronger? Vampire survivors and other dopamine machines have tapped into something that hopefully allows us to reassess ARPGs. Playing new games like Wasteland 3, Pathfinder WOTR, and now Diablo 2 Resurrected, snapped me out of needing insane graphics and a million kinds of weapons in a gorgeously rendered 50sq.mi. map. I want a little hero to run around and pick from a variety of skills that give me enough choices to combine into something different for every play through. could the visual context clues for combat or mission objectives be clearer? sure thing. Could there be a more imaginative weapon/armor/item selection for each of the kingdoms? why not. is the game worth $25 bucks? for now, at most, yes. it's a solid $20 purchase and a steal for $15 on sale. i put an hour in my first attempt through, then subsequently longer sessions once combat started to click and i understood what to do. TL;DR - an easy 7/10 for me
I'm sold on the concept and visuals alone. It's not Sacred but it gives off Sacred vibes. I can deal with arcade-y ness for the fact that the mechanics really intrigue me.
I would love this game would allow co op (no npc companions i hate that) I like it to be skill based combat (perhaps place npc's health/stamina elsewhere on the screen???) would you know of any game with this characteristics please let me know!!
Hm not many games I can think of with coop AND skill based combat :( Elden Ring does that TO AN EXTENT because there you can also only coop to a limited degree - like to fight a boss. You can't really explore the world like this in regards to playing the game through together. I can recommend Baldur's Gate 3 and Divinity Original Sin 2 - they have superb coop, letting you play the whole game together, but it's not really skill-based combat tho :( Maybe some other titles from other commenters? Anyone?
Hey hey @Radosław Mazurek! Long time no see. Good to have you back :) I was thinking of another rpg, but can't make up my mind. I want something realtively modern (not BG1, not Icewind Dale, not Fallouts, and not Neverwinter), but something good. With a good story and consequence. Not super happy about Pillars of Eternity tho. Don't understand the Pathfinder systems to save my life. Maybe BG3 Early Access? Ghad. Tough choices :)
@@Gamesquisition My dilemma now is, if I want to play smugglers at last or one more play through with Fremen :D Played already Atreides, lost with Harkonnen (no idea how should play this faction) and several times Fremen. By the way, new Dune movie is awesome! Lynch version is still great and I have huge sentiment toward this movie but to be honest, this new adaptation is much better and actors are assigned to played roles just perfectly. Except Liet-Kynes who is a woman not a man, for no good reason. However if Liet-Kynes would be a woman, this actress is perfect for this role.
@@Gamesquisition SpaceBourne is advertised as game with RPG elements. Perhaps you would be interested. But it's not like magic-wizzards-elves-dwarfs RPG.
The only legit role playing is like - game master, players, dices. And lot of imagination. I don't get the idea of computer RPG. It's too limited to call it this way in my opinion.
@@Gamesquisition Oh yes, no question about that. I did not play since decades. But still it does not feel like role playing this computer games. Maybe I played with too good game master to appreciate computer adaptations ;) It's just too shallow and very limited compared to human imagination. Much better for me to play strategy games on computers or, recently, also some space sims and creative sandbox games like Space Engineers or Stationeers. By the way, Space Engineers is created by Polish company, or at least CEO is Polish. Perhaps review of this game? ;)
I might look into Space Engineers. Never had the patience for games like Kerbal Space Program tho. Also, speaking of space... I got both my eyes on Falling Frontier. It's a 1 man project but by the gods... Have a gander.
@@Gamesquisition I didn't know I have Falling Frontier on wishlist already XD Space Engineers mechanics is rather similar to Minecraft. But instead of building wooden houses and things like that, you build space base, for example on Mars, rovers and space ships. KSP is great educational game but if you're not obsessed with everything that is related to space, space flight and rockets then it might not be game for you ;)

It's a mixed bag. The lore however... MASSIVE! Wonder what they'll do with it.
Nice Bart! Quality of your videos is great.
Thanks for taking time out of super busy schedule to drop in @WolfheartFPS.

nope. done :)
Maybe for consolation let's play in Dune Spice Wars? Good old Dune also will do ;)

extremely skillful review
This game is just an imitation of Amiga's classic Moonstone. :D
Heavily inspired for sure ;)
Admit that you were simply scared to fight the super skull marked boss!
Shhhhh!!! ;)
I hate durability in games, i agree,, i am hopeful for this title
Gonna have to give it another go once it leaves early access. And yeah, durability sucks balls :)
Cool Review! Shame that it is so buggy :(
There are less and and less of them to be honest. Devs working like crazy to make it work.
@Game Punk its EARLY ACCESS you ignoramus! Its supposed to be buggy at this stage! But the other points the reviewer made is valid
Well done:)
Thanks a lot!

Non-existent mouse control also; reluctantly gave it a thumbs down on steam.
