- Wheels.... air ride.... wrap. That’s no build. Stefans V8 swapped IS200 may not be winning awards anytime soon but built on his drive away, Stefans created a V8 fire-breathing Lexus that he knows inside and out when most lads can’t even change a wheel these days.
Using the 4 litre N/A 1UZFE out of a JDM Celsior. Stefan has squeezed it into the IS200 bay.
Near 300bhp of N/A goodness. In a car that Stefan can honestly beat on daily knowing it’s going to be reliable and look after him.

I've always fancied a E46 325i turbo. Welded diff and such....other halfs E90 320d is fun in the wet but I can't push it too hard.....she would beat the crap out of me if she knew

Really been eye-ing doing a build exactly like this, and looked through heaps of sketchy phone recorded videos or gopro videos without a good mic, this video definitely hit the nail on the head in terms of experiencing the swap and visualising the way itll feel in my car. Absolutely banger video, maybe some more engine noise or exterior exhaust from pulls (found myself scrolling back to hear the noises over and over) but besides that loved every second!

Honestly I believe it’s because of the engine choices they weren’t more popular. Had there been a V8 and a 2JZ option would have been much better in my opinion!
CJK20 Can you ask Stephan what is the weight of the car as it is now with the V8 in it? About the same, heavier or lighter? I read the 1G 2.0 straight 6 is quite heavy/ heavier than the V8?

Yeah I thought the vvt engines had 2 throttle bodies
At first glance, the easiest way to tell is that the 3uz has an oil fill spout that sticks up high on the valve cover. This one is def a 1UZ vvti
I want to swap one some day next year
5:45 make me think that gear ratio are perfect.
I am going for a 3uz swap and want the same short ratio so if you have a very reliable gearbox to suggest, I am intersted (btw… engine will be supercharged so I need a very strong box)
Good affordable robust manual transmission would be a cd009/jk from the Nissan cars or a ar5/ma5 aisin transmission

@@CJK20 Only just started playing about with editing and using PowerDirector 18 but it's runs very slow in preview window unless you render it even then it's not great. Also there is a problem with Google sign in at the mo! Im on Windows and need something better but without this pay monthly shit 😂

Rad hoses are all custom and no ac lad

You do know the gearstick can move back on them.
j160 is definitely not rated for that much torque otherwise everyone who does a JZ swap in their car would be mated to one, however the sorts of power the 1uz puts out absolutely shouldn't be too big of an issue for it mainly due to how linear it is

TURBO IS SIMPLER.
So what exactly was needed to just do the 1uz swap? I want to put a gs400 swap into my gs300.
That’s pretty much a straight forward swap. Not much needed except engine and mounts and y pipe. Ecu and depends if you keep your trans. Same dimensions the valve body I believe is different for different shift points. The rear end is a toss up too. The gs3 is 3.92 and the gs4 is 3.26 iirc. The gs4 trans computer will likely hunt from 4-5 shift with your 3.92 and you limit the 1uz to roughly 125ish top speed. The 3.27”6 rear will give you 155is top end. I currently run a gs3 rear in my gs4.
And if you swap diffs you need to swap yokes to match
@@MrMpm3001 so its a straight bolt on pretty much.? No rewiring needed for a 00 gs3 chassis for 1uz swap
@@memom.3263 well your coming from an in-line six to a v8 so yeah the harness is needed. But they are not that hard to acquire. However typical Japanese wiring from the 90’s will be brittle and connectors break. If you can find a donor it would be too easy. However you can find whole swaps kind of “cheap”.
@@MrMpm3001 yea obviously the engine harness & ecu, my bad i meant under dash harness. None of the subframe gotta get switched? Just straigh 1uz mounts/harness/ecu/mounts?
Pity Lexus never followed up with their IS430 prototype.
Lexus didn't do that it was an American car builder who built it for SEMA in Las Vegas.
