Several gospel artists cannot sing live and not articulant. They can scream and shout with the best. Tiny Desk is not going to ruin their representation with artist who cannot perform.

I'm an atheist, but I've always loved African-American gospel music and believe they're top-tier singers in general. Very soulful and vocally strong. I'm at work on my break crying tears of love for Mrs. Mann. ❤️
Truth , love and light has no respect of persons! This is in us it’s our body literally recharging and cleansing itself renewing and just by the energy flowing through us onto song etc ❤️
She obviously wasn't feeling her best, but she still showed up and gave everything. She could have made excuse that she wasn't feeling well or was losing her voice and I wouldn't have thought twice about it. The fact that she didn't, though, shows me that she doesn't think it's all about her. She is there to minister not just perform. I love that about her - how humble she is with such a powerful gift. Thank you for having her for a TDC.

I think they were saying that Tyler Perry created the bridge that took her from music to acting too. I get what you’re saying though! We’ve been loving the sound of her voice for a very long time. ❤

When my grandmother passed away in 2012, Take Me to the King played on the radio on my way to the funeral. It'll always have a special place in my heart. ❤️
I lost my faith gradually over the past few years as I succumbed to a multitude of hardships, failures, and loss..and I honestly stumbled upon this gem by chance..and as soon as she spoke- I was intrigued...then the lush guitar made me stay..by the time they all started playing/singing I was overwhelmed with the love and hope I had backslid from.. It moved me in such a way that i felt compelled to share and rejoice. Thank you Tamela and your amazing band for being a fisher of men and for opening my eyes. 1❤

I love gospel and artists like Tamela know how to stir the emotions out of you but I have to say that every background singer in this genre have a way of putting that amen amen in a song. They don’t get enough credit. Somebody say Amen🙌🏾
God Provides lifted me up during one of the darkest periods in my life. I went from hopeless to knowing I am loved. Thank you, Tamela, for showing up at the right time. God speaks to me through your gift of song.
Emotions are just thoughts, you have 50k a day. You knowing you are part of God is fact, power, and protection. Just be grateful all day consistently, and those thoughts will get less and less. Tune your body & mind back to God.
About 2 months I started working at an inner city school in camden new jersey. After 19 years working in before and after school programs in cherry hill, New Jersey, I found my life has changed. My new school has given me a new purpose and a new reason to go to work each day. It's music like yours that I know the students would appreciate. Thanks !
