Media used to be about escapism, nowadays they just try to make you feel as shitty as possible and act like its some feat of storytelling.

Black Mirror is something that almost anyone could come up with by observing the world and making simple extrapolations, whereas good science fiction is something you almost certainly wouldn't come up with yourself (or if you did, it would take much more time and effort).
What's good about science fiction? It's all garbage psyops that will never happen with situations that are all completely impossible.
What did people expect? Early black mirror warned of some dystopian things that where just a few years away, now that we solidly live in the black mirror world black mirror has become just another zog-series.

Black Mirror was good in the 1st season, when it explored interesting dystopian/semi-dystopian concepts. Before Netflix bought it. Now it's more zogslop.
Every episode of black Mirror is a ripoff of the twilight zone, every single episode is like “what if, technology was…BAD????!!!???!???!?)?!?”
I haven't watched much of Black Mirror but the episode with Bryce Dallas Howard and the social credit system was terrifying and has stuck with me ever since.
I watched episode 1 of season 1 with my ex. I told her over and over i thought it looked like shit.. eventually i caved. The episode ended, she turned to me and asked "Would you fuck a pig on live television to save MY life?". I told her no, thats retarded, it would never happen, and i wouldnt fuck a pig regardless, id find some other way, etc etc. Night ended with the police showing up after taking a shot glass to the dome. Good times. Sometimes i miss that crazy broad..
I used to miss the sex sometimes but not everything else, she threw a pickle jar at me because my neighbor knew she was nuts and stirred the pot by saying she saw me walking around the neighborhood holding hands with another woman. Worst mistake I ever made was letting her move in, hot chick with daddy issues really know how to rope a dumb guy in.

What blows me away about Sam is the fact that he doesn't come from film (in fact he's almost the perfect antithesis of it) but he always knows how to call out the bullshit. I've learned so much from his bluntness.

I think it has some good episodes, but a majority of them are shit. It tries way too hard at points and ends up becoming unrealistic and laughable

@@goodstuff8156 eh black mirror dives into some really interesting hypotheticals and there's plenty of thought put into literary Easter eggs being included in the plot and settings.
Some episodes are more esoteric or exoteric than other episodes, each has it's own individual plot wrapped up in the same episode.
I would say it's like really good fanfiction of Orwell's books but adapted to revolve around modern technology.
It's worth a peek for sure!

@@goodstuff8156 I havent watched it in a while, but a scene of value that stays in my mind is when a newbie detective girl arrives home from work and is about to cook a meal. She grabs some vegetables from the fridge and fake meat (the meat seems to be labeled as a soy meat alternative) and begins preparing the meal but gives up halfway through and grabs a tube of pringles and some ice cream instead before sitting down to watch tv until the sun comes up. That stuck out to me because she has the desire to eat healthy but unknowingly doesnt even have the option to. The foods shes been groomed to view as healthy are slop just as much as the pringles are. Does she know this? No, she's like a rat in a cage. As an ex vegan the scene also stuck with me because it hints at real meat being banned or stigmatized in the near future which is probable. The scene presents itself as filler but honestly has a deep message.
An episode that stuck out as not very valuable was the episode about military dog robots driving humans to extinction.
It's not a pure stream of spoonfed red pills, but nothing is, and it's better than most shows with any level of mainstream appeal. I think what makes it gripping the most is how close some of the dystopian elements are to modern dilemmas.
Other implications I like are that videogames turn men into homosexuals, or that p0rnography use turns young kids into sexual deviants.
There's plenty of merit to the show and it's worth close analysis.
