    Note, the Prussians were the third largest Baltic tribe group. The Germans just decimated them and took their name. They are referred to as the Old Prussians, now

      My grandmother was Prussian, spoke Lithuanian, and lived in what today is Zapovednoe, Kaliningrad, oblast, Ryssland which at the time was German. I have never found any evidence that the locals were decimated, and the Prussian language survived for 100s of years after the Germans came. Do you have any proof of your claim?

    Ha! We probably met the same two on the quad while fatbiking in the dunes at 10:37 in your video. We'd followed the border "rope" on the beach at 13:55 if you keep heading south on the Baltic side. Then across the road to the freshwater side and were enjoying the dunes when the quad team arrived... Pretty friendly, chatty but it was clear we had to go.

    I'll tell you something, I was there last October and even then there was some sort of roadblock. I drove past it and it was like a different world because suddenly the road was totally empty and I saw no vehicle between that point and back. A bit surreal to see the place again in your vlog and combined with the present it gives me this eerie feeling. Sad and somehow exhilarating at the same time

    • @iPedroMota
      @iPedroMota  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      So not too busy even back then? I wondered since the place is a national park with a ferry at the end that costs 30 euros for cars in the peak season. Bit of post apocalyptic feel that was on the border.

      Lives in Lithuania are cheap. Just after graduating a professional school, I was instructed to climb the roof to fix antennas for the job. No training or proper equipment. Just ladder and my own sport boots. I quit the job after co-worker pushed the ladder off when I was climbing up with his car backing in reverse and I broke my collar bone. Probably your family would get 50k for such instance in case you die (while employee breaking lots of rules/not providing equipment or training).

    Königsberg was German until 1945. Only then the inhabitants were expelled. Poland annexed the parts of Germany as planned in the 1920s and so Russia kept what was left over.

    Russia owning Koenigsberg territory is like an insult to Europeans. Boycott it, don't go there, don't admit you know it, don't support it by going there, let it go away and return it to its rightful owners, the Baltic tribes.

    Not much to see and people are not so nice if you speak english, you need russian to survive.
    Also, the roads are... fucked! Just like Russia, NO ROADS!
    If you want to into the Baltic countries then learn russian and get a 4x4 or a dirtbike.

If you were driving offroad on purpose, then its your choise. And there is some russian speaking communities in some cities, because they colonised them. Particuralry Riga, Daugavpils (Latvia), Talinn (Estonia). There are only 5% of russians in Lithuania.

      @@KONSOLIUS russian 5% officialy, 100% in reality, that's the Baltics.
      I did not seek to drive off-road, I was forced to since there was no road where the map showed one, it was blue colored as well.
      My country is not the richest, but it has way better roads than all the Baltics combined, we have asphalt on all major roads, our A roads are actually A roads quality, not 1 lane carriage with at-level crossings like in the Baltics and they avoid using rock-chips on top of asphalt because motorcycles.
      If you just go from the airport to the center of the capital city, even Somalia looks nice.
      Lithuania specific, if you get out of the Klaipeda-Kaunas-Vilnius belt, then russian is the only language they speak, in Moletai for example, you should know it, it's on the badly paved single lane A6.
