@@brianfleming8561 yes it was and I think it's actually an important distinction. Before ww2 concentration camps (although generally horrible places) literally just meant a place to concentrate a population. It has now post ww2 become synonymous with 'death camp' though. Death camps like sobibor and belzec were there to kill the vast majority of the people who arrived with only small work details (often just to keep the killing system going).
Next great video from Pedro. ;) And what was there in Zosin were Ukrainian Guys going back home to fight for their country. Regular people that are normally working in IT or constructions in Poland. And all these tents there were to help people escaping from Ukraine because of the war.
Don't spread misinformation, dude! They probably feed you with more bullshit the further you live from the events but still... War started in February and in the vid you can see it's summer time. By that time everyone who wanted to fight was already at the front. What you see here is the line of vehicles waiting for customs clearance in a short period when they lifted duty and taxes on cars imported to UA from EU. There was a limited time window to bring in a car absolutely free over the border and there were lines stretching for over 30 km (EDIT: tax and duty was dreadful - very often several times the actual worth of the vehicle, so this was like million dollar gift to them). How do I know that? Coz I live at the next border crossing and we had to endure all that. So it's not that romantic as you may think/are told. Oh, and most of these vans are not filled with humanitarian help but with groceries. They buy things here coz it's relatively cheaper and sell it in UA. This was happening before the war, during the war and will be happening when this war is over. So, please verify and double chceck your information.

I'm still a pretty new follower, and I'm amazed that how you do what you do so smoothly. Adventure on such a giant scale looks awesome, but it's terrifying at the same time. Can't wait for the next video.
You dare to ride slippery tracks with a pillion, Pedro. And you manage to do so admirably. Anyway, Mariska must really trust you. Thanks for your border report from the three-country-point. Happy New Year, Günter/Nürnberg
It's like riding with luggage but with more responsibility. Happy new year Gunter!
@@iPedroMota Very well said, Pedro!
Pedro, FYI Sobibor was also notorious for a famous Natzi concentration camp.
German concentration camp
Wasn't Sobibor a death camp, not a concentration camp? There was a difference.
Oh, what a nice Retro Honda!
Do you have plans to return to argentina to alp?
Hey Man! Nice to see that you have visited Sobibór. You were passing by my summer house, where I also come by motorbike during summer. Hope you enjoyed it!
P.S
The name Sobibór may sound familiar to you, as in Sobibór during II World War there was a Nazi German death camp.

The extra hours of sun is lovely in the summer. 😁 But now, wintertime, not so much sun. Today, it was like ten minutes longer day then yesterday, but sun is up for four hours a day.....
Tried to live in Czech Republic and Spain for some time but, summertime above Arctic circle is something extra. Had a Northern lights an hour ago, but summer is still much better. 👍🏻
Damn, your videos make me want to ride...
Hope you have a lovely day, wherever you and your lovely girlfriend have found a place for the winter ❤️❤️

Escape from Sobibor is an excellent film.
This was summer? Surely not filmed in December?

You hit up on that quite quick. 1:45 Geely that I first heard of was a motorbike from China that had a controversy about so-called 50cc bikes that were later revealed to be 90cc+ bikes and were therefore not eligible for waivers and discounts that they were coming into the USA under originally.
Only in a free country can a man ride up and talk to soldiers actively setting up defenses. They were friendly too. Try that in Russia or Belarus.
Have you ever heard of the term "propaganda"? Maybe when you know the meaning of it, you will realize what it has done to you.
@@freedomofpress5605 lol. what pray tell has propaganda done to me? This should be good. Lol
@@soldat2501 The answer to your question is in your original comment.
Lolololo loads of 'freedom of the press' in russia, that must be why all the ones not owned by the Kremlin moved to the baltic...
@@Ukraineaissance2014 If you believe you have freedom of the press in the collective west, you are totally naive. Then there is the next level of no freedom like in Ukraine. They even have no freedom of religion now, only 3 political parties allowed (all nazi parties), it's illegal for many people to use their mother tongue,,, Why comment on Russia?

Geely is a Chinese brand! They also own the Volvo brand.
Trójstyk granic jest super
Are you using osmand?
yes
I wonder if that little place you found named Sobibor is the site of the famous Jewish uprising in 1943?
Hope you had a good Christmas ❤️
You witnessed some history there.
Lots of horrible sad shit has happened. Last year (2021)they would not let you anywhere near the bialarus border. Especially with the camera.
Interesting, cheers
@@iPedroMota They didn't let anyone with cameras because antigovernment tv stations cut what they film and paste it in a way to fit opositions agenda. They spread hate towards our military to the point of one of famous polish commercial actress called our border soldiers murderers. Be thoughtful of that please. To be clear I'm not a huge fan of our ruling party either. But in my presence no one will speak ill of man and woman that defend this country.

I don’t like when people for views doing this clickbite tourist crap. It’s obvious you could go and see different things in Poland but no you chose to go border and show military building fences etc

You cannot enter a forest in Poland on a motorcycle, unless there is a road there. What a rudeness....
What motorcycle you ridding?
Russian goat
Thanks so enjoyable and informative safe travels ( imagine a world without borders) but i have always been a dreamer !
We dont have borders inside the EU(that includes like 27 countries or so), so it is possible
I cringe because of the inability of our soldiers to speak English. Anyway, you mentioned that "Sobibór sounds familiar", I'm sure it's because you were crossing the place where nazis built a death camp while Poland was under German occupation. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sobibor_extermination_camp Safe Travels!
Should I get a bike I would thrilled to go with you on adventures next time! 😍
this one solder has arm like my leg.
what are you doing there?
why u bike got russian flage ? wtf man
I see some nice and peacefully people:) but be carefull this kind of knifes are highly illeagal in Poland :D
You said you think you heard the word Sobibor.
Sobibor was an by the Nazis definition an extermination camp.
Or by common sense definition a controlled area to comit mass murder.
Around 250,000 people were murdered at Sobibor
collecting razor wire sucks ass, did it for 1km with 10 people with a bit rougher terrain than these lads, would not recommend. Tears clothes and skin even if you are careful.
Amost no connection with the title - that's made to intice that Poland has more or less "invaded" Ukraine " - and the reality of what's happenig and experienced.
1- you're not "surrounded", ya just meet them (unarmed) on their territory being busy doing their stuff
2- the border isn't only Ukraine/Belarus border but Ukrain/Belarus/Poland border
more relevant title would be "Polsih soldiers securing their border close to Ukraine and Belarus boder"
Living in area (50km to border) I find you guys really selfish and ignorant after what you showed and said in video
You've missed białe lake.
Yes, Geely is a chinese brand. They sell a lot of their cars in ukraine, belarus and russia.
I heard that many of Chinese cars were selling to Brazil but didn't work too good because after few years those cars fell apart
Isn't geely the current owner of volvo? 🤔😁
And so, just by travelling, you created a documentary snapshot of the situation in eastern Poland.
A slightly depressing gem of a video! 🥴
Cheers, the beauty of traveling on a motorbike and all the things one can stumble on in a day somewhere in the world
Witamy w Polsce.
for wild to go to Mongolia or Jakutia.
15:38 "why does Sobibor sound so familiar?" Because it is famous as the site of a WWII extermination camp, where at least 250,000 innocent people lost their lives to the Nazi so-called "Final Solution", and I can't believe that you didn't know that, and then went and rode your motorbike around for fun. I mean have fun, but at least be aware of the history of the place. It was disrespectful. You can do better. You will do better. I know you will. Merry Christmas.
No nazi, german nation
Thanks for the reminder. Sounded familiar so that would suggest I knew at some point, more than a few places like that unfortunately from that time that can slip one's mind. As for riding yeah that's what you do on roads sealed or unsealed, even for fun. We weren't close to any memorial sight. Time marches on and people end up living their lives again. I can't imagine the amount of places I've ridden through on this planet with a history of bloodshed the past 2000 years, most I wasn't even aware of. Merry Christmas to you too.
@@Pierozkowaty Yes Nazi, Yes German, but Nazi.
It was Nazi-German death camp in occupied Poland, there is a very well known American film about it - "The escape from Sobibor", made in the end of 1980s.

2:25 it may be so blue because of chemical waste
The turquoise bluish color comes when the sand from digging mixes with the clear water. Its kind of a dusty water.
