    Among evangelicals, 30% reject the deity of Christ, 42% believe that God accepts the worship of all religions, and 25% believe that God counts a person as righteous because of his works (not because of one’s faith in Christ). As Americans, we live in a community that is dominated by roman catholicism. In this sermon, Mike Gendron visits Revolve and outlines the sufficiency of the Bible and the sufficiency of Jesus Christ.

    I was brought up a Catholic and never knew peace with God and assurance of salvation no matter how hard I tried to be good, until the Lord in His mercy drew me to Him and gave me a heart of flesh and eyes to see. I was literally jumping for joy when I read in Romans
    “1Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death’
    And still do!

      Did you ever talk to your priest? There is no condemnation for those who are in Jesus. So we must walk his path and follow his teachings.
      And we must repent and come to him with a contrite heart.

      @@KillerofGods yes I did and he couldn’t answer any of my questions. I felt sorry for him. It was sin that necessitated Jesus’ sacrificial death and resurrection because God who is pure and holy hates sin. We must hate sin as much as God does. Jesus’ blood makes us clean and no other sacrifice is necessary making the ‘sacrifice of the mass’ unnecessary. We cannot add to what Jesus achieved on the cross.

      @@mitchellosmer1293 You don't know why we worship on Sundays? It's the Lord's day, the day he triumphed over death/satan and his resurrection.
      He was put to "rest" right before the Sabbath and was gone for three days and rose again...
      So Friday, Saturday, Sunday. That's how we got Sunday.
      There is also a few accounts of worshiping on the first day in the new testament. Paul broke bread (eucharist ) with the church on the first day, Paul told them to collect tithes on the first day (because everyone was gathering together for worship.)

      Mary is even elevated to God status by her Mediatrix position. The third person Holy Spirit is the same "other" Comforter as is Mary full of grace. A dualism exists in Catholicism, although very subtly with Mary and the Spirit.
      Jesus taught His disciples that He would not leave them comfortless. He would come to them, and His Father too. Jesus is our Comforter, and the Spirit of truth. It's all about Jesus. Redemption is all about Jesus, the only begotten, dear Child of God. Heaven's work to save us is all about Jesus, who loved and gave His life for us.

    “And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: *but* he that *shall endure unto the end* the same shall be saved.”

    Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, *in departing* from the living God.
    But exhort one another *daily* while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
    For we are made partakers of Christ, *if* we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end.
    {Hebrews 3:12-14}
    I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: *but let them not turn again to folly*
    {Psalm 85:8}
    “When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he [the unclean spirit] walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.
    Then he saith, I will return into my house [a man] from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.
    Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.”
    {Matthew 12:43-45}
    Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man *draw back* my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
    {Hebrews 10:38}
    And he said to them all, "If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross *daily* and follow me.”

    After this I saw in the night visions, and behold *a fourth beast* [Pagan Rome] dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.
    I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another *little horn* before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the *eyes of man* and a mouth speaking great things.
    {Daniel 7:7-8}
    ...
    And the ten horns *out of this kingdom* are ten kings that shall arise: and another [Papal Rome] shall rise *after* them; and he shall be diverse (claiming authority over church and state craft; the spiritual sword and the temporal sword) from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.
    (The Heruli 493 A.D.; The Vandals 534 A.D.; The Ostrogoths 538 A.D.)
    And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and *think to change times and laws* and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
    (Same dispensation of the time of the Gentiles; and the time of the two witnesses.)
    But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away *his* dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.
    {Daniel 7:24-26}

      For the first 1600 years no one believed in once saved always saved. That is the sin of presumption. In fact, it's always meant to be born from above, baptizm. What you had was a conversion experience, but it's not one and done. You still have to work out your salvation. Your belief system is from the 1960s hippy movement, promulgated from the likes of Chuck Smith and Calvery Chapel. I can tell you what certitude, I've read the documents from all the early church fathers who knew and were taught by the apostles. As much as you want to believe that was your church, sorry, it never existed. Once you read the early fathers: Ignatius of Antioch, polycarp, Justin Martyr, Clement of Rome, and Irenaeus of Lyon they were as Catholic as you can get. Which makes sense cuz that's where the source came from, right?

      I would recommend some church history. If you and I entered into a time machine and we set the date to to 1950, all the Evangelical churches and Jehovah Witness would be gone. Let's say we turn the clock to 1800s. All those of the enlightenment era, seventh-day Adventist, would be gone. Let's say we move along further down the road and to the 16th century, all the anglicans, ante Baptist, Methodist, calvinist, Lutheran's would all be gone. Essentially, when you get down to the 15th century you only have three churches. The Greek Church the Oriental and the Roman rite. This is not opinion this is history. There were a lot of 'isms" which were heredical.

      Hi Caroline, I would recommend doing some early church patristic reading. These fathers were taught by the apostles. They were around 60 - 120AD Polycarp, Justin Martyr, Ignatius of Antioch Irenaeus of Lyon and Clement of Rome. In their writings they talk about people who deny the real presence of the Eucharist, Baptism Regeneration, the Supremacy of Peter in the land of the Romans. In their writings they called themselves Catholics. The patristic letters are typically what converts Protestants to Catholicism. The evidence overwhelming undeniable. I recommend a book Fathers Knows Best. Its written in a reference format that covers Catholics beliefs by the many church fathers.

      19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that they all are not of us

    Much of what you say is true. That you did not learn that Christ died for our sins when you went to Catholic school does not make the Catholic Church wrong, it just makes you a poorly catechized Catholic. You misunderstand and misrepresent Church teaching here. I'll address just a few things you said.
    At 18:30 you stated Catholics do not believe the work of redemption is finished. Christ's redemption is complete. But if you yourself believe God's work is finished, why do you preach? Are you yourself not working for God?
    If we cannot lose the salvation that Christ attained for us, why did Jesus tell Peter at the Last Supper, "I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail." Why didn't Jesus just go ahead and die knowing that his death would prevent Simon from falling away? Even after we accept Christ, we still have free will and can choose to leave him.
    Catholics attend Mass often because Jesus told us to. In every Gospel, Jesus says of the bread and wine: This is my body; this is my blood. In Luke 22:19 he commands us, "Do this in memory of me." He says in John 14:21, "Who obeys my commandments, loves me." It's not sufficient to say "Lord, lord"- we have to do what he asks of us!

  • @gracepilditch9388

    We do indeed need to tell people. I’ll always be grateful to the man who gave me the tract on my way to mass when I was a teenager which made me think about faith. So I started reading the Bible and saw the myriad discrepancies between biblical truth and d Rome’s teaching.
    The verse which clinched it for me was
    Matthew 23:9
    “And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven.”
    God will not share His glory with another. Only He has the right to be addressed as such.
    Let’s tell people, speaking the truth in love.
    “17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.”
    Let scripture be our only authority not scripture plus tradition plus the magesterium.

      @@geoffjs the church is founded on Peter’s declaration “you are the messiah’. Jesus is the foundation, the cornerstone the Rock, not a mere man.
      Damasus commisoned a vulgate edition of the Bible in 382. Hitherto it had been in Aramaic, Hebrew and Greek. This meant only the priests, pope, clergy could read it.
      It took men like Wycliffe and Tyndale to risk their lives to translate it thereby making it available to everyone. It was on the list of forbidden books.
      In the 1500’s an englishman named William Tyndale was talking with a friend about the need for everyone to be able to know God on their own. At that time it was illegal to own a copy of the Bible in the English language. Bibles were only allowed in Latin to make sure only the highly educated could read the Bible. Tyndale’s friend wasn’t sure ordinary people needed to know the Scriptures. He thought it might be good enough for the Pope to know the Bible in Latin and then tell all the English speakers what it says.
      To this Tyndale replied, “I defy the Pope and all his laws, if God spare my life, I will make a boy that driveth the plough know more of the Scripture than thou dost.”
      I thank the Lord for these dear men and most of all, for giving us his Son the Lord Jesus, the living Word and the scriptures, the written Word.
      The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.
      The Catholic church has changed the Ten Commandments, the second commandment about not worshipping idols has been changed and the 9th and 10th have been changed also about not coveting your neighbour’s wife/goods.
      We shouldn’t change, add too, take away from scripture. Very serious indeed. Yet Rome has done this.

    Acts 3:26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away↩️ every one of you from his iniquities.🙌🙌🙌
    John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 3:20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 3:21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.🙌🙌🙌
    2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
    Ephesians 5:1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; 5:2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. 5:3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; 5:4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. 5:5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. 5:6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. 5:7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them. 5:8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: 5:9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) 5:10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. 5:12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. 5:13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. 5:14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. 5:15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, 5:16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 5:17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; 5:19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; 5:20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; 5:21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

    Jesus is speaking to the crowd; John 6; 27 , "Do not labor for the food that perishes, but for that which endures unto life everlasting, which the Son of Man will give you. For upon him the Father, God himself, has set the seal." Jesus is referring to The Holy Eucharist which is ONLY ACCESSABLE through the Sacrifice of the Mass within a Catholic Church service. Jesus is NOT A DECEIVER. This scripture is proclaimed and announced by Jesus himself; not by any man, or any disciple, or any woman, or any prophet!

    Your intellect is driven by your passion for the Lord but like all individuals is no match for collective wisdom. It's very lazy, and foolish, not to learn from the great scholars that have gone before us. Your interpretation of the bible is just that. Your interpretation. You deceive yourself and others because of fear of being caught in a religion. Quite the opposite is true. The one true church has so much freedom and richness to offer for those willing to meditate on the life of Christ.
    The magisterial Church has much to say on blind spots driven by human limitations. Your interactions with the Catholic Church are superficial and very limited.
    Any Christian, and Catholics do this well, that can bend their will, intellect and knee because they listen with their heart and head is far richer than by just reasoning with an opinionated and passionate and prejudiced mind.
    I'm personally very happy with my relationship with the Mother of God, who being married to the Holy Spirit, and by her 'yes' conceived Jesus Christ our saviour.
    She continues to play a vital role as any good mother does in dispensing the graces won by the Lord for all her children.
    She loves us all greatly.
    Allow your heart to dwell in her maternal heart which always points to her Son's Sacred Heart.
    Here you will find revelation that transends intellect alone Ponder, as she did, upon the life of her son, and your life story will change dramatically.
    What a gift given from the cross is our mother to her sons and daughters. Take her into you home and heart to help you navigate through the deception that comes through individual and limited thinking.
    "Mother, behold your son, Son behold your mother." Pl don't disobey the Lord!

But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it." Luke 11:27 & 28. I don't know about 7 deadly sins or works of mercy.? Are those Biblical? I don't recall reading about them. The Bible defines sin. "Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law." 1 John 3:4. When a person is born again their natural inclination is to perform works of mercy, not as a means to become saved but rather, because they are saved and have the mind of Christ and the indwelling Holy Spirit. "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father." John 14:12. Blessings

      There is actually two questions here you have raised, if I may read between the lines...and also explain.
      1) Christ is all God and all (perfect) man without sin. It is why his work is the perfect work of salvation because it satisfies God for these reasons:
      1) God does not accept sacrifices that have blemishes/defects or any infirmities on them.
      (refer to old testament mosaic law requirements)
      2) Unlike every carnal man, Jesus actually kept all the written mosaic law, and therefore FULFILLED the law.
      Inturn (as our federal head 'the last Adam') Jesus set believers free from THE TEN COMMANDMENT LAW of sin and death, so we are now under a new LAW OF GRACE adopted as son unto God and Co heirs with Christ.
      3) As a man, Jesus paid for all of mankind's sins when he died on the cross, thereby satisfying the justice of God which says ' the soul that sins must die!!!'
      3) Jesus's work of redemption is perfect unto salvation because there is nothing left to add. As Christ put on his cloak as incarnate human flesh; (Like us, his own creatures on the earth) , Even here in humble flesh, he became perfect through much suffering and obedience to God unto death on the cross. The righteous for the unrighteous in so doing reconciled us back to God.
      4)His name is above all names, the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings, HE is everything....the way the truth and the life!
      5) Christ's work is perfect unto salvation because a truly saved soul can not be lost since he is sealed by the Spirit of Christ unto the day of redemption.
      Which leads to your next point. Jesus says to some :
      "I never knew you, depart from me you that worketh iniquity". There are many professors of Christ, false converts that have never been saved, who thought they were real Christians but are not. It is why the Apostle Paul exhorts us to examine ourselves, to see whether we be in the faith.

    If I weren't Catholic, I'd look for the Church that the world despises, for the world despised Jesus, and he would be there. - Fulton Sheen
    Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you; he who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats me will live because of me.". Things seemed to be going pretty well. That is until Jesus said “For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood,dwelleth in me, and I in him.” This was too much for many of his disciples and “From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.” Jesus turns to the 12 and asks, “Will ye also go away? Vs 61, Jesus did not back down, for He said, "Does this offend you?" it offends protestants. They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
    Jn 20:21, "As the Father has sent Me, I also send you."
    Jn 17:18, "Even as thou hast sent Me into the world, so I have sent them into the world."
    Jn 17:22-23, "And the glory that thou hast given Me, I have given to
    Matt. 28, 18-20: And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye, therefore. and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
    Jesus says to the crowd, "He who believes and is baptized will be saved." But in reference to the same people, Jesus immediately follows with "He who does not believe will be condemned." This demonstrates that one can be baptized and still not be a believer. This disproves the Protestant argument that one must be a believer to be baptized. There is nothing in the Bible about a "believer's baptism."
    "Accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior," or "Ask Jesus into your heart" isn't the biblical answer.
    It’s important to be saved from hell, damnation, and the stain of original sin, but what are we saved for? We are saved for union with Christ. Our salvation began when we were born again through baptism and God’s own Divine Life was restored in our souls, making us like Adam and Eve were in the Garden before the Original (first) Sin. As we go through life, we are united with Christ through the Sacraments he left as gifts for us, especially through Penance (forgiveness of our sins committed since Baptism) and the Eucharist (partaking of God’s own Life, His own Divine Nature, 2 Peter 1:4) - until that day when we are truly united with Him in heaven.
    Scripture teaches that one’s final salvation depends on the state of the soul at death. As Jesus himself tells us, "He who endures to the end will be saved" (Matt. 24:13; cf. 25:31-46). One who dies in the state of friendship with God (the state of grace) will go to heaven. The one who dies in a state of rebellion against God (the state of mortal sin) will go to hell. (For the teaching on venial (non-deadly) and mortal (deadly) sins, see 1 John 5:16-17)
    What I must do to be saved:
    *I must be baptized with water and the Spirit. Mark 16:16, John 3:3-5, Titus 3:5, I Peter 3:20-21. (Exceptions: [1] If I desire Baptism but die before I can be baptized with water and the Spirit, God accepts my desire to be baptized, and [2] If I am killed (martyred) because of my faith, but I have not had the opportunity to be baptized, God accepts my death as my baptism, called the Baptism of Blood).
    * I must do the will of God the Father. Matthew 7:21
    * I must keep the Commandments of God. Matthew 5:19-20, Matthew 7:21, Matthew 19:17, 1 Timothy 6:14, and others.
    * I must accept the Cross (suffering). Matthew 10:38, Matthew 16:24-25, Mark 8:34, Luke 9:23, Luke 14:27. Phil 1:29, and others.
    * I must be a member of God's true church. Acts 2:46-47.
    * I must confess my sins. James 5:16, I John 1:9, John 20:19-23
    * I must heed the words of St. Peter, the first Pope. Acts 11:13-14, Acts 15:7.
    * I must eat the flesh and drink the blood of Jesus Christ. John 6:51-58, I Corinthians 10:16-17, 11:23-30
    * I must do unto others as I would have them do unto me and love my neighbor as myself. I must feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, clothe the naked, visit the sick and those in prison or give other aid to those in need. Luke 10:33 ff, Mt 25:31-46. #432 The name "Jesus" signifies that the very name of God is present in the person of his Son, made man for the universal and definitive redemption from sins. It is the divine name that alone brings salvation, and henceforth all can invoke his name, for Jesus united himself to all men through his Incarnation, so that "there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."😊😊

      @@joshuaharris6233How many times do you have to pray to be saved?
      You don't take the eucharist to be saved. You take it to get closer to Jesus/God.
      You pray to let your heart out before God and get closer to him.
      You read scripture to know his word and get closer to god.
      Life should be a pursuit of God and doing his will.

      Who forgives all sins?
      Scripture teaches that we receive forgiveness by faith. That is, God forgives us not because of any good work or virtue we've achieved, but only by trusting in him and resting in the perfect work of Christ. Romans 3-4 is again helpful.

      Just another Catholic tradition ,(lie).

He even referred to himself as a “fellow elder” (1 Pet. 5:1) and as “a bond-servant” of Christ (2 Pet. 1:1). Far from claiming honor and homage for himself, he soberly warns his fellow elders to guard against lording it over those under their pastoral care (1 Pet. 5:3). The only glory he claimed for himself was that which is shared by all believers and which is yet “to be revealed, … when the Chief Shepherd appears” (vv. 1, 4).

      The Atonement: The Strongest Refutation of Rome's Eucharistic Errors
      >>>>>>>
      Early church leaders knew nothing of transubstantiation.
      The eucharist hardly makes any exegetical since to start with.
      Tradition cannot be the will of God if it goes against the word of God.
      Jesus uses parallelism in this discourse to equate believing with eating his flesh. Note the parallel between verse 40 and verse 54:
      (Jn. 6:40) “For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day.”
      (Jn. 6:54) “He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”
      .>>According to this parallel, beholding and believing (v.40) are equated with eating and drinking Christ’s flesh (v.54). This is further paralleled by verse 35:
      >>(Jn. 6:35) I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst.
      >>(Jn. 6:54) “He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”
      >>>To “hunger” and “thirst” and parallel to the one who “eats” and “drinks.” But note what Jesus says satisfies our hunger: “He who comes to Me… he who believes in Me.” Jesus isn’t speaking about his literal flesh and blood any more than he is speaking about literal bread (Jn. 6:35) or literal water (Jn. 4:10-14). Indeed, Jesus uses the term sarx for his “body,” rather than the common term sōma (which was the common term used in the Lord’s Supper). Indeed, the “term ‘flesh’ is never used in the NT to refer to the Lord’s Supper.”[4] Hence, this seems “to caution against a sacramental or eucharistic understand of these verses.”[5] This is why Augustine of Hippo wrote regarding this passage: “Believe, and you have eaten.”
      >>Jesus works in metaphor’s, analogy and hyperbole. In Mark 8 Jesus uses bread language again anhesd calls out those confused thinking he’s being literal not realizing the spiritual message.
      >>The catholic reasoning system will have little influence on the born again believer who’s truly born of the spirit. Those like my self who exegete and derive revelation from the spirit see the heretical lie of transubstantiation.
      >>>Irenaeus of Lyons (AD 180) stated that the elements do not lose the nature of bread and wine (Against Heresies, 4.18.4-5; 5.2.2).
      >>>Tertullian (AD 200) said Jesus’ statement was figurative (Against Marcion, 3.19).
      >>>Clement of Alexandria (AD 200) called the bread and wine symbols of Jesus’ body (The Instructor, I.6).
      >>>Origen (AD 250) held his typical allegorical and spiritual view when referring to the elements in the Last Supper.
      >>>>Eusebius of Caesarea (AD 340) called the elements the body and blood of Christ, but also referred to them as symbolic of spiritual realities (On the Theology of the Church, 3.2.12).
      >>>Augustine (AD 350) believed that John 6:53 should be understood spiritually and symbolically-not literalistically (On Christian Doctrine 3.16.2).
      Gelasius I (5th century pope): “The sacrament which we receive of the body and blood of Christ is a divine thing. Wherefore also by means of it we are made partakers of the divine nature. Yet the substance or nature of the bread and wine does not cease to be… Thus, as the elements pass into this, that is, the divine substance by the Holy Ghost, and none the less remain in their own proper nature.”

      Let me explain:
      The bible has been changed.
      Did God say? Come on, really?
      God said He preserved His word. Psalm 12:6-7. Most modern bibles do not. In other words they are not admitting that God has a standard, His inspired word. His word is quick (alive) and quickens (gives life). His word is eternal. In fact, they deny that God preserved His word!
      Most of the modern bibles have at least one out and out lie. NKJB lies in Exodus 6:3. They began to call on the name of the Lord in Genesis 4:26.
      Others quote Jesus telling his brothers, i am not going to the feast. John 7:8. (Is he saying he is going to break the law of Moses?) He waits and then goes. Liar! BLASPHEMY .
      Jesus simply said, not going now, not yet. He waits and then goes. No problem, no lie.
      And blatantly they mock Jesus and unashamedly, constantly, with each change ask, Did God say? "All things were made by Him and without Him was not anything made that was made. " John 1:3.
      Clearly He is the Creator.
      Their Jesus was but a vessel. "Made through him."
      Did God say Mark 11:26? Absolutely. It is an essential part of our walk with God. A verse that makes us tremble was added?????
      Did God say? Acts 15:34? It shows God's divine providence. Silas was there when Paul needed him for a journey. Obviously Silas remained there.
      BRAZENLY, they change or remove a word that gives the believers true power! Matthew 12:31 and Mark 9:29! Some spiritual warfare needs prayer and fasting!
      Did God say eleven (11) times in the New Testament the word damnation, eternal burning? Yes. But not in theirs! Did God say?
      Did God give three witnesses to that truth? Mark 9:44, 46, 48. They however only have v48. The other two they ask, Did God say? This is important because we need to know the truth and those who preach Annialism, we cease to exist, are easily proven wrong with these verses.
      Jesus is God. Yet Jesus is man. Hebrews supports this with four verses, 3:3, 7:24, 8:3 and 10:12: "But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sin for ever, sat down at rhe right hand of God; Hebrews 10:12. They do not use the clarifying words 'this man' at all. Again, Did God say?
      Every change they make is an insult to God and His word.
      God said He would curse those who add to or take from His word. Revelation 22:18-19.
      In the Old Testament those who honored a false prophet received the reward of that prophet. So the Alexandrian translators, the bible societies the publishers, the promoters, sellers and those who teach from them (showing those ear tickling bibles as God's word) or honor them will be held responsible. If done ignorantly, repent. God will not be mocked.
      This happened when the inspired Antioch manuscripts called the Textus Receptus were replaced by the Alexandrian manuscripts called the Codex B or the Vaticanus from the Vatican basement, and the Sianiticus from a monestary. They do not agree with each other and the latter has about 30 changes per page. Obviously inspired by their spiritual father who brings conflict, frustration, despair and DOUBT.

    Just wanted to point out that what I learned from Protestants who became Catholic and Catholics who became Protestant. It can be quite revealing. I have yet to meet a former Catholic who actually understood their former faith (again, bad catechesis). And almost every Catholic I've met who used to be Protestant has been a practical encyclopedia of both Protestant and Catholic theology. Some of the biggest names in Catholic apologetics are former Protestant pastors. Unfortunately, Mike Gendron falls into the category of not being properly educated in his former Catholic faith and then spread this false information to those who don’t know better. My advice to anyone who truly wants to follow Christ is to go watch a conversion testimony of former Protestant who became Catholic (there’s literally thousands of videos) and then ask yourself why so many educated leaders of the Protestant community have converted?

    What does this have to do with the Catholic Church…?
    The Catechism of The Catholic Church states:
    1996 - “Our justification comes from the grace of God. Grace is favor, the free and undeserved help that God gives us to respond to his call to become children of God, adoptive sons, partakers of the divine nature and of eternal life.”

      Our 'justification come from Jesus, who presents us to God. Galatians 2:16. . . yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified
      Romans 5:1-2...Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

      @@stever4181 yeah, but…
      The problem is that many Protestants will talk until they are blue in the face about Justification, but get all demure and quiet about Sanctification.
      It’s best summed up in 2 Peter 1:5-8
      “For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith virtue; and to virtue, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. For if you possess these qualities and continue to grow in them, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

      @@stever4181 not exactly.
      Catholics have the full deposit of Faith to determine that which is correct. Protestants only have Scripture
      The difference is that Protestants have to have some kind of scriptural direction to legitimize their beliefs, while Catholics only have to ensure that our Beliefs do not conflict or contradict Holy Scripture
      IMHO That’s why Protestants tend to feel Catholics have weaker evidence to support their Teachings, because their expectation is that it “is clearly written”

      @@savannahfan Any Catholic that agrees with your traditions agrees that man's word is equal to God's word and scriptures does not support that view.
      Your early church fathers gave opinions that are not found in scriptures. Now, either you believe that scriptures are God's spoken word to man or not. And if you say it is not then you are in a cult. Pure and simple.
      Please explain this, "full deposit of Faith ", what does it consist of and where does it come from?
      All Christian churches draw from scriptures. Then you have those that claim to be Christian but make up what suits them. Then you have the CC which has a Catholic faith instead of a Christian faith.
      Sacred Traditions are what? Where did the Apostles mention this, where did Jesus mention this? Ahh, I see, it was the CC that states this. Self-profession has no authority.

      How do you labor for the food that endures to eternal life? Believe in me! (John 6:27, 29) “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me [in faith] shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.” (John 6:35) “For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.” (John 6:40) “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life.” (John 6:47)
      When the crowd took offense at his gruesome talk, Jesus exposed their unbelief: “The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. But there are some of you who do not believe” (John 6:63-64).
      don't stop on v53, John 6:60-61,63 KJV
      Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it? [61] When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you? [63] It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. -> you see, Jesus clarified on v63 that the WORDS HE SPAKE ARE SPIRIT, not LITERAL.

      >>>>>>>

      The Holy Bible says:
      Isaiah 58:13-14
      13 “If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, From doing your pleasure on MY HOLY DAY, And call the Sabbath a delight, The holy day of the Lord honorable, And shall honor Him, not doing your own ways, Nor finding your own pleasure, Nor speaking your own words, 14 Then you shall delight yourself in the Lord; And I will cause you to tride on the high hills of the earth, And feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father. ----Catholics claim devote to Mary to be saved. BIBLE says “apart from Jesus there is NO SALVATION”. Acts 4:12, 1 Cor 3:11.
      . BIBLE says “believe in Jesus to be saved”. Acts 16:30-31, John 3:16.
      10. Catholics claim Roman Church inherited infallible authority from Peter. BIBLE does not say that in Mat 16 or John 20 or John 21.
      11. Catholics claim Roman pontiff inherited infallible authority from Peter. BIBLE does not say that in Mat 16.
      12. Catholics claim bishop of ROME = the pope. BIBLE does not say that.
      13. Catholics claim there is an office of bishop of bishops/universal bishop/pope. BIBLE does not speak of such an office. History tells us the first bishop of bishops came in AD590-600s.
      14. Roman Church has all the false unbiblical clergies - Roman priests, roman cardinals, roman pontiff, monks, nuns, friars, … BIBLE mentions only pastors, teachers, evangelists, prophets, apostles, deacons, bishop, elders. Titus 1:5, Eph 4:11, 1 Tim 3.
      15. Roman Church claim its doctrines come from traditions of Apostles. BUT 95% of roman doctrines are Not from traditions of Jesus or Apostles or Scriptures; neither practised by the Church of the Bible.

    And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
    {Revelation 17:15}
    The seven headed beast of Revelation 17:
    The seven heads are symbolic of seven kingdoms, starting with the beast of Daniel chapter 7
    1st < Babylon
    2nd < Medo-Persia
    3rd < Greece
    4th < Pagan Rome
    5th < Papal Rome; the little horn
    ("that was" & "is not" & "yet is")
    6th < "one is"
    ^
    The woman that rides the beast is in captivity at the time of John's vision, AFTER receiving the deadly wound from the (atheist) beast from the bottomless pit [Rev 11:7]. This is the beast of THE TIME of John's vision IN THE WILDERNESS.
    (Meaning that John is in the wilderness in his vision and not physical on Patmos, and he sees a beast that would come up from out of this wilderness. Read Job 38:26.)
    The 7th < "is not yet come"
    At the time of John's vision *in the wilderness* this head of the beast was yet to come; this is *the beast from out of the earth* [Rev 13:11];
    (And he shall exercise all of the power of the first beast...) when this beast will speak like a dragon.
    This beast must continue a short time, as per the others before him.
    I believe by the testimony of Jesus, that we are now living in that "short time".
    The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
    {Revelation 17:8}
    :11...even he is the eighth, AND IS OF THE SEVEN, and ascends out of the bottomless pit and goes into perdition.
    --There are seven heads at the time of John's vision, five kings/heads/beast are fallen, so this eighth is of the seven kingdoms...."that was"...."and is not"...."yet is" AND received a deadly wound; AND his deadly wound was healed.
    This wound is the loss of her (the woman/church that rides the beast.) temporal sword (also her captivity), which is the earthly secular world kingdom.
    This is the image of the beast (that great city), who like Babylon of antiquity, who thinks to usurp church and state craft.
    The number eight is a metaphor for the resurrection. The eighth is resurrected from a former head of the seven; the 5th head that received a deadly wound.
    (When he shall go into perdition: this will be the final dispensation of this beast with seven heads, that is a metaphor for satan.)
    Jesus;
    (The resurrection; Jn 11:25) Ἰησοῦς/Iēsous = 888
    by counting the letter values of the Greek transliteration;
    I(10), E(8), S(200), O(70), U(400), S(200).
    In antiquity the mountain was not only a metaphor for a kingdom, but it was also symbolic of the head of a (river) dragon that was symbolic of a river that flows out from a mountain, after the spring thaw and overflowing its banks, spreading out in the form of the dragon's tail.
    The color is scarlet because it is symbolic of the blood of the saints of the Lord.
    A woman in prophecy is always a metaphor for a church, in this case (Jezebel) it is the fallen temple of God.
    The false prophet, a lamb (Christ like) with two horns, and/but will speak like a dragon (a wolf in sheep's clothing), will be the beast (from out of the earth ... the USA) that will make an image unto the first beast from out of the sea, who received a deadly wound and his deadly wound was healed.
    The two horns are a metaphor for two (equal) kingdoms in one, church and state craft.
    Medo-Persia also is expressed as having two horns [Dan 8:3], but one was higher, (Persia) and eventually usurps the other.
    This is the image of the first beast from out of the sea (Papal Rome). Once the wall of separation of church and state is lost, then will the second beast from out of the earth become the image of the first beast, who claims the authority of both church and state.
    Even so, come Lord Jesus. Amen.

    0:18--- All due respect Sir, Ligonier ministries is Calvinism! Calvinism is "A DIFFERENT GOSPEL"! RC SPROUL taught the same HERESY that John MacArthur teaches! I agree with your position on Catholicism but Calvinism is just as false. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is not represented by Catholicism NOR CALVINISM. (26:01--- I can only assume that you're using a Calvinist version of the Bible. What I mean by that is that those of the Protestant persuasion came out with new versions of the Bible after The Authorized King James version. In the newer versions, they changed so much of the text bcz their Reformed calvinistic doctrines did not agree with THE SIMPLE TRUTH OF THE GOSPEL. So, in their ERROR, they denied Scripture and wrote their own version of Scripture! The original TEXT OF SCRIPTURE does not say that the Way is "HARD"! The word "hard", gives the impression of WORKS and that's precisely what Calvinists teach! A WORKS SALVATION! They also completely removed part of Romans 8! The amount of changes were/are so significant that it's like looking at two lines that started at the same point but one kept veering off by a few degrees until it eventually was not aligned with the original starting point! CALVINISM is the reformed theology that has veered off course and the changes were so subtle and over such a long period of time that now a calvinist believes that THE HOLY WORD OF GOD needed correcting so that's how they defend all these updates versions of the Bible! It's a very crafty and cunning deception that is certainly appealing to the prideful religious man! John MacArthur just came out with an even newer more up to date Bible called "The LEGACY STANDARD BIBLE"! NOW, WHOSE LEGACY DID HE WRITE ABOUT? I'm saying this bcz you keep quoting men and Bible versions that are Heretical! Your position on Catholicism is correct but your blindness to the false gospel of Calvinism, needs to be removed! Please pray about my comment and do your own research.

    This preacher said many true things about the wonder of our savior, Jesus. Unfortunately, he blended falsehoods into his statements and stories.
    He claims that Roman Catholicism teaches that Mary is the mediator of God's grace through which Catholics must go to God. Now, Mary is a kind of mediator, because it was through her that Jesus came into the world. However, no one is required to go through Mary to God (though people are free to ask for her prayers or assistance, just as we might ask for someone else's prayers or assistance).
    Mr. Gendron further claims that Roman Catholicism asserts that the Pope -- not Christ -- is the head of the Church. There are problems with the Roman Catholic Church's claims about Papal Supremacy, but to say that the Roman Catholic Church says that Jesus is not the head of the Church is just a lie. To Roman Catholicism, the Pope represents the leader of the apostles (Peter) on which Jesus said he would build the Church. Again, there are problems there, but we need not misrepresent the issue to justify ourselves.
    If Gendron never heard about "penal substitution" in the Roman Catholic Church, that can only be because he wasn't paying attention.
    Gendron seems to suggest that Roman Catholics don't have an urge to live a life free from sin in response to the Gospel, like Gendron does. Again, he seems to not have been paying attention.
    I've no idea what to make of his rather insane story wherein he seems to suggest that Roman Catholics donate money to help bury Jesus.
    "There is no need for priests...." Then why did the apostles immediately appoint priests and bishops (elders and overseers) to continue to offer prayers, worship, and the Eucharist in the various Christian communities? Why did people like Paul offer instructions on specifically how to do so? Why did the authors of Scripture exhort those who are sick to seek out priests/elders for prayer, healing and forgiveness? Gendron claims to be "sharing the truth," but he is just lying and expressing a rather grotesque level of ignorance about Christianity. Instead, he has substituted his own beliefs for what the early Church actually was.
    The number of errors Gendron speaks multiplies quickly in the middle of his presentation and forward. I honestly don't recall anyone who I have ever seen present so much falsehood in one speech. Roman Catholicism isn't perfect, but the Gospel that Gendron is preaching here is just as foreign as the imaginary one he has projected on Roman Catholics.
    We need to pray for Gendron that Christ will help him weed out the errors from his beliefs so that he doesn't lead more people into error.

      Why do you believe elders means priests in the New Testament? Where does it use the word "Eucharist"? Are you seeing instructions from Paul on having a "mass"? If so, where is that word used and what are the instructions?

    • @philoalethia
      @philoalethia ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@doriesse824 wrote: "Why do you believe elders means priests in the New Testament?" Because the Greek word that is translated as elder in some Bibles is presbyterous, from which we get the word priest. The priests were elders. The elders were priests. Early Christian documents clearly affirm this.
      "Where does it use the word "Eucharist"?" "Eucharist" comes from a Greek word that means thanksgiving. Variations of the word are used about 40 times throughout the New Testament, and specifically during the miracle of the loaves and fishes and during the Last Supper. In common use today it refers to gifts of bread and wine that are consecrated as Christ and the apostles taught. This was also how the term was used in the early Church.
      "Are you seeing instructions from Paul on having a "mass"? If so, where is that word used and what are the instructions?" I didn't employ the term "Mass." It is interesting how you keep asking about words in the Bible. Your questions suggest that, if a word is not in the Bible, then it isn't true or real. We've seen thus far that in the New Testament, the word translated in many Bibles is actually the source of our word for priest. These were literally priests -- priests of the New Covenant. We've also seen that variations of the word Eucharist show up many times in the New Testament, including the miracle of loaves and fishes, as well as the Last Supper. I don't see why I should need to find the word "Mass" there. It is derived from a later Latin phrase, anyway, "missa est," which basically means to go forth.
      However, you also asked about Paul's instruction. Clearly he gave instruction for a special celebration for Christians. Early Christian historical documents give some clarity to this, its meaning, and how it was celebrated. Are you interested in learning more about that?

      @@doriesse824, no. The English word "priest" derives from the Greek presbyterous. The Greek terms in Ephesians 4:11 relate to apostles, evangelists, teachers, and shepherds. I assume that you are reading a translation where ποιμένας (poimenas) is translated into English as pastor. "Pastor" in English is a transliteration of the Latin for shepherd.
