At the end of 1999, people around the UK got ready to celebrate a new millennium, maybe a fresh start for everyone. It was the birth of the 21st century.
However, it would soon be a few moments of catastrophe, with many services and power being knocked out due to a phenomenon called the "Y2K bug". This is how the BBC handled it.
