So first off thank you for replying. With that said if I route in daw to any other stereo out in my daw they instantly sound better but in order to sum mix back on 1-2 I have to print back to cubase. So I make a beat then route instruments to there own out like 3-4 or 5-6 once I do that those groups no longer show up on 1-2 unless I print them back into cubase. I can’t understand why because it feels like I’m working backwards but the sound quality is lot better on any channel other than 1-2 don’t know if I’m explaining it correctly but is this normal.
If you send a signal out 3-4 or 5-6, that signal has to go somewhere, perhaps a summing mixer. Then, that signal will have to be returned through an input on a channel. Channel 1-2 is the default channels of computer playback. So anything playing back from cubase means that it is going through the internal summing buss. Some users will take the out of 1-2 and recorded back in, to capture the sound of the converters with a soft clip. From what i'm understanding it sounds normal.
Thanks for the video If you don’t mind I have a quick question. So I work in cubase and use the discreet 8 pro syn version. When I use any channel besides 1/2 the quality of the material seems to become very detailed but It stops showing up in cubase main out and instead I have to record the information back into cubase and was wondering why would I have to print back into cubase if I’m not using afx effects?
I'm not sure if i'm understanding correctly. What do mean by it stops showing up in cubase main out? By default, the d.a.w outputs are typically 1-2. The control panel routings sounds like it could be off.
I use Pro-Tools, so the set-up might be a little different depending on which daw, but this video here should help you understand it a bit more. th-cam.com/video/87xJs55rHDI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=_3h308Qt4LAHf2nb
@@FizzENT I'm in ProTools as well. I'm pretty good with understanding the ins and out I'm just not sure how to use the Hardware "Inserts 1 & 2" 1/4" inputs on the back of the Antelope Interface. I bought the breakout cable.
@@joshcobb Oh, The hardware inserts on the orion are interesting because those are automatically connect to A1 & A2 on the front side of the unit. Hopefully you have the Y-Split cable with 1/4' on one side and the corresponding connecters for whatever dynamics processor your are using for the otherside. Once you connect the back, you are good to go. Anything that you plug into A1 & A2 will be inserted before it hits the a/d converters of the orion.
Thanks for this video man, there's not enough content for this routing software online and Antelope's own videos arent very helpful,, explained this nice and clearly! Slowly getting my head around it, it's a big step up from the focusrite scarlett 18i20 for me! Great interface when you get the hang of it :)
@@AudioKings360 You would record the main outputs. Take the daw outputs and route them over to a record input (TB REC or USB REC) For example, you computers mains outputs might be 1&2, so you would route 1&2 to a record input. Your microphone might be using input 3, so you will want to route that to a record track as well. You might want to set up a monitor path so you can hear what you are recording.
This can be done two ways. 1) Using the control panel on you hardware unit. 2) Using settings. Click the control gear icon and locate line outputs There is one master control for all line-outputs

Great primer! Just came into an Orion 32+ gen 1 with an MPE 32. I’m looking to use this as the heart of my studio. Not too much content available, but happy to find your page. Thank you for helping us with our Antelope gear. Still trying to find an into video or set up recommendations.

I’m not sure what you mean by unselect tab. If you would like to use the mixer, effects etc and detach from window, hold down control and click the one you wish to detach.
did you have issues installing the unified driver? I just bought the Orion 32+ gen 4 and a brand new Mac Studio m2 and for the past 3 days I've struggle to get the unified driver to stay installed for thunderbolt connection. So essentially I have 32 ins and only 24 outs.... I want to throw this thing out of the window and go back to universal audio apollo but I want to give it one more shot because I like the sound of the converter. Do you think you'd be able to help maybe through email or a phone call? Their customer service is trash.
I believe I discuss it in one of the videos from my playlist here th-cam.com/play/PL_qY1u3DirWMBeUA3dsbDPG0vHqpLafkH.html or the direct video here th-cam.com/video/sKJXkVBkrO4/w-d-xo.html
Hey man! About 5 months ago on this video you actually helped me connect my headphone amp to my Goliaths line outs lol which i am very greatful. So I've upgraded my headphone to an Aviom System (hearback system you may be aware of ( if not its a mixer musicans can mix on their own to their liking) but now i need help routing 16 channels per example one kick, one snare, one hit hat, 3 toms BUT to one output, drum stereo overheads also to ONE out output. Would i just route all my AFX channels to my 16 line outs and then group the ones i need grouping in my DAW?
Nice Video. Fizz need your help which this. am Trying to cofigured my Orion 32 to connect hardware insert but is this complicated to me. Can you do a video about this process. I dont know how configured my interfase to thisT My Orion is usb. thanks.
Thank you. For the Orion 32 you will need DB-25 break-out cable. This will enable you to plug into one of your hardware units. Depending on your hardware unit you it might be XLR or TRS input. Then you will need a second DB-25 break-out cable to bring it back into the unit. I have Orion Studio which comes with hardware inserts so my process is a bit different. So your signal flow will be | DB-25 OUT of Orion | > | INPUT Hardware Insert {EQ | COMP | } | > OUT of Hardware Insert > IN to Orion. Hope this helps
Can anyone here help me out! Lol I am trying to get a headphone amp connected via d sub to headphone amp but I cannot get any audio out of Analog 1-8 to headphone amp.
1) Make sure routing is set up correctly {TB or USB REC or other signals to --> Line OUT} 2) In preference, check to ensure that volume of LINE OUT is not muted or turned down. Use built in meters to verify the incoming and outgoing signals.
@@FizzENT alright I tried that but TBH I'm a newbie when it comes to routing ESPECIALLY with Antelope. So I have a Goliath and I'm super lost with this. Would you be able to walk me through if you have time. So I have TB PLAY 3-4 routed to LINE OUT 3-4 and nothing. I know something iw wrong. Is it supposed to be TB REC to line out?? I don't think I can move TB REC to line out. TB PLAY does go to line out but I'm sure im lost somewhere here.

Yes, the routing should be similar
Yep, a question, how you can reset this mixer panel to original state?
Right click on whichever input on a row and select "mute row" You can always clear everything and save it as a blank template.
I have a descrete 8 and one db 25 out only how patch or send out to my API 500.
Is it the analog or something else as my matrix doesn't look like this
Yes, use analog outs to route signal from daw to your API 500
