Although I do agree, you're leaving a lot of people out of it because a lot of people don't have the skills for that kind of thing. You'd have to know your fanbase very well to know that there would be enough good artists that it would be a good contest.
I have a hybrid idea that I used to do for my giveaways! 🎨✨ I think what you could do is have an art contest where you choose a prompt and have us draw it! Then once people send their stuff in you can choose your favorite submissions and put them on a wheel. You can then spin that wheel and do whoever gets chosen gets a figure. This makes it easy/efficient for once you select the submissions to continuously spin. You can host several art contests and just keep adding onto the wheel! You can spin the wheel on a livestream or do community posts! That’s just the general, you could definitely add to it or edit it! When I did giveaways I always did something like this! It creates somewhat of a pity system for people who are consistently participating with good work! ✨

I think art contests are always good, and regular giveaways are nice for people with less art skill. I'm glad you seem a bit happier and are hoping to keep growing- I think the mindset of like, "yeah I am more prone to experiencing and being affected by intense emotions, and I should be easy on myself" while not using it as an excuse or ignoring the consequences it might have is good (as someone who also has some intense mood swings due to mental health/being neurodivergent) Make sure to take breaks when you need it!! I find I always feel the worst when I end up burnt out on top of other stuff

When it comes to the giveaways, I find that it always works best to advertise the giveaway in places like TH-cam, but doing the official giveaway in a place that has private DMs (like the way you're doing it now, with the most recent giveaway.) As for types of giveaways, I think that art giveaways are the way to go, it matches your content and follower-base better. I'm so excited for your debut! I hope you continue to get better!

I think the art comp you're doing is a great idea for giving away figures (I really enjoyed making my submission LOL) but I also think a good idea would be like a randomizer type thing. Like a wheel of people who volunteered, and pick randomly between them on like a video or a stream could be fun. I see people down here in the comments talking like prompt art comps, which would also be really fun and I'd love to participate. I'm also incredibly impulsive with figurines and I feel like I never see other collectors openly talking about that kind of feeling with collecting. I really struggle with impulsivity when it comes to collecting and really do feel like I buy things to make myself feel better rather than because I truly want them, it makes it hard for me to properly save money... I really like the art contest style, I think it’s a great way to promote creativity and let people improve their skills while getting a chance to win something (I personally learned a lot while making an entry for the contest!!) you could maybe try different themes for it, like draw a steampunk version of your character for example. I appreciate it being through e-mail too, it makes it accessible for many people. Also I love Teto please, she’s been my fav vocaloid for years now

this video was really interesting to watch, as i'm sort of going through a similar thing (not with figure collecting, but with wanting to change myself for the better). mental illness really does make things so much more complicated and tough to work through. but we'll get there eventually, especially if we're trying super hard :) in terms of a giveaway format, i personally like the idea of making an art piece to enter, but having the actual drawing be random. that way it makes it so you have to put in some effort to participate but everyone still gets a fair chance regardless of skill. and you get a bunch of cute art out of it and ppl might discover new artists they like!! hope this helps :) and i hope things get better and a bit clearer for you soon. 💕💕💕

I do like the art contest idea you had for your first figure giveaway. I imagine that is easier to keep track of than youtube comments and a random number generator, but I know people have been doing youtube giveaways through the comments for years so this also works! You could also limit things to subscribers and have a google form to fill out so there's a slight barrier to entry and you don't get bots or scalpers as often. It also doesn't require quite as much work as an art contest potentially has.
I liked the art contest idea, I think it would be a fun idea to do a redesign of your vtuber contest, or some other art challenge. I also think a “draw this in your style” would be good since it gives a general idea of what to draw, the style of the art just changes artist to artist. Designing new outfits for your characters could also be a fun idea!
Outfit contests are a lot of fun! I know contests for me are often something I use to help get out of art block and the added prize would definitely be sufficient motivation. It also help to find new artists to connect and improve with.

I really like the contests where you create something and win based on the work you put in instead of winning based on luck so I really enjoyed your art contest! I think more giveaways where it challenges the viewer to create something are really helpful because, at least for me, it helped me try something new and helped my art skills develop which has more meaning than a luck-based contest. I think that more creative-based contests are good but maybe change the medium - design a sticker, create an animation, sculpture, or photography - so that it reaches a wide audience and many people have an opportunity to show off the skills that they have developed. You could also use a different theme such as an art contest based on the season or an aesthetic! I really liked your message in this video and how you were able to reflect on yourself as a person (something everyone needs to do) ❤❤
Art contests are always fun because there are interactions in the community and help people discover new artists! But that's very time-consuming and difficult to organize it and make the decision so having a random winner also sounds nice. Honestly, my favorite giveaway/contest methods are definitely art contests. Plus who doesn't like receiving fanart. I like the idea of you picking your favorite art piece out of all the contest entries you get rather than someone to be picked randomly.
I think a good idea that would also help bring out your personality and “character” would be to do fan contests not specific to illustrations, like art, fan fiction, music, etc. It would give you a LOT of free fan work and I think everyone would be really happy to be chosen because you like their work and not just being a random pick
Def outfit contests, similar on how they pick the winter miku design each year (i think)! you can choose prompts you want and then at like a live stream go through the ones you love or do it in private and then annouce it on social media!

I been collecting since 2013! From 2019-2022 I went on a figure hiatus and I returned back in 2023. For me, I started enjoying figure collecting again when I made TH-cam videos reviewing my figures! I am learning skills like video editing and graphic design that I can leverage at work!

Art contest are fun, I love them. I think a suggestion could be there's different categories for people that they go in, you can choose the ones you like from those maybe spin a wheel for them too?
You could also try to do multiple small giveaways. If you're unsure about how to do the giveaway maybe you can collect some ideas through a form (like art contest, writing contest, design contest, photo contest, cosplay contest, sing contest etc.) and put those in an online spinning wheel. The one it lands on is the contest that can be held and people can enter their piece. I also think it's really great of you to explore what truly makes you feel happy and as a collector myself...I absolutely feel the FOMO lol.
Art contests do sound cool. I'm not really super good with art but I love seeing people's creativity flow. Maybe art contests based around the character the figure is based on? Also your perspective on figure collecting is totally valid! Hobbies don't last forever and it's healthy to move on and change how you engage with them
I think in terms of setting up giveaways, google forms and discord are some really good ways to do it OUTSIDE of art contests. It would help a lot with the form/address issue if you used google forms because then you can just ask for all of the info there. And with google forms you could just number the entries and pick a number on a random wheel spin or something. Then you could just have a different google form to send to winners on discord! Discord has a lot of bots and stuff for giveaways. Im pretty sure one is literally called giveaway bot where all people have to do is react to the giveaway they want to enter and you set the date and time, then the bot does the rest of the work, I'm pretty sure it even does the announcment of the winners on its own after the fact.

Basically the host would js put all the people that joined in a random wheel and the person who won would be the giveway winner lol (pretty simple). You could do smth similar maybe? But since it's yt you could ask ppl to sumbit their entries into a google form and maybe e-mail them or reach out through other socials to let them know they won? You could also announce it at the start or end of a video! I think a google form generally works well for giveaways even without an art contest :P

You could also host some kind of events; either games or something on livestreams! Since you mention you want to spend more time on personal growth, it may be also fun to motivate your audience to do the same by having them do the things they are passionate about. It doesn't have to be about who is the best or something like that, so randomizing it can be a way to overcome that! Also, this video format of being just honest about your feelings is wonderful to see. I'm certain a lot of people can relate with it, so just do whatever feels right for you! I really love the idea of an art contest! I think since you yourself are an artist, it would really help to connect with your community! I don't think it would be a problem, since some people just don't want to/can't participate, but nonetheless its still a giveaway, and is meant to give something for free to the community, so its not as big of a deal. since its not really like they are giving anything for it anyways. :)
Oof, I felt that attention span tangent... Social isolation and social media access has definitely rotted my ability to just be, without reaching for my phone or even being able to keep a cohesive thought. One way to do giveaways I've seen other TH-camrs do is some sort of program that can pick randomly from all comments on a particular video, sometimes they ask for a keyword too. They will also ask for an outside site of their choice/ user handle for DMing people, tho sometimes YT blocks certain words in the comments to discourage people from spamming their contact info for other sites. I'm not too clear on exactly what program others use for comment picking. (I'm more of a lurker when it comes to any site really so I don't participate much in commenting... Get too anxious for some of the reasons you mentioned but also just a shy person.) Wasn't able to participate in the last one due to a lack of motivation and confidence but, another art contest is also an option, tho that is more work on your part to judge the works submitted and only people who are confident in their skills would be able to participate, so that might be limiting. I hope you are able to find happiness and grow. When a hobby becomes stressful... That's just horrid. I definitely feel the dissonance between wanting things and stuff and not wanting to be a mindless consumer, to have less of an impact on the environment by not participating in consuming so much. I like my stuff, a lot too... but it's just stuff and it only ever feels like a quick fix to shop myself better, at times the space it takes up the money I spend... It can be upsetting... I could have spent that money on something useful or more fulfilling or even helping others... Sorry, if this was long, went off on my own tangents... I think doing an art contest where’s it’s “draw my oc in an occupation” would be super fun! Contestants draw your OC in an occupation, uniform and all!

A lot of people are saying art content and that can be fun! Maybe make one where they design emotes for u or help make your next merch idea? Another way to include people who can't draw is making a quiz about yourself and having people guess things about u? I feel making a quiz can really make even more people have a chance to win. As someone who also has a figure collection it definitely can consume your life and identity and it's awesome that you're choosing to focus on yourself. For giveaways you can always do another art contest, maybe with some type of theme or something like a costume design contest. Random giveaways can also be fun with some type of interesting gimmick like a wheel or on a stream. You could also just do a Google form that asks questions so you have more of a choice in who wins but at the end of the day it's whatever you find the most appealing

My suggestion would be making art contests that could favour or encourage begginer or small artists . :D I saw your current contests entries and they were all so wonderfull , many from begginer artists that were just starting up their art accounts. . As for types of giveaways, I think that art giveaways are the way to go, it matches your content and follower-base better.

I think the art comp you're doing is a great idea for giving away figures (I really enjoyed making my submission LOL) but I also think a good idea would be like a randomizer type thing. Like a wheel of people who volunteered, and pick randomly between them on like a video or a stream could be fun. I see people down here in the comments talking like prompt art comps, which would also be really fun and I'd love to participate. Honestly, thank you for sharing your thoughts like this! I'm also incredibly impulsive with figurines and I feel like I never see other collectors openly talking about that kind of feeling with collecting. I really struggle with impulsivity when it comes to collecting and really do feel like I buy things to make myself feel better rather than because I truly want them, it makes it hard for me to properly save money... It's really nice to hear your similar experiences, you're openly speaking about your thoughts and how you're trying to improve things in your life that you're not super happy with, I appreciate it!

I really like the art contest style, I think it’s a great way to promote creativity and let people improve their skills while getting a chance to win something (I personally learned a lot while making an entry for the contest!!) you could maybe try different themes for it, like draw a steampunk version of your character for example.
I appreciate it being through e-mail too, it makes it accessible for many people.

Art contests are a fun idea, but I feel like it’s not exactly fair to those who don’t draw so I have a few ideas where everyone can participate!
- Host an anime trivia game (Kahoot, Discord, etc…)
- Photography contest with any of your merch
- OC outfit design contest (no art skills needed!)
- Raffle (except anyone that has submitted a drawing gets a free/bonus entry!)
- Another meme contest

this video was really interesting to watch, as i'm sort of going through a similar thing (not with figure collecting, but with wanting to change myself for the better). mental illness really does make things so much more complicated and tough to work through. but we'll get there eventually, especially if we're trying super hard :)
in terms of a giveaway format, i personally like the idea of making an art piece to enter, but having the actual drawing be random. that way it makes it so you have to put in some effort to participate but everyone still gets a fair chance regardless of skill. and you get a bunch of cute art out of it and ppl might discover new artists they like!! hope this helps :) and i hope things get better and a bit clearer for you soon. 💕💕💕

I do like the art contest idea you had for your first figure giveaway. I imagine that is easier to keep track of than youtube comments and a random number generator, but I know people have been doing youtube giveaways through the comments for years so this also works!
You could also limit things to subscribers and have a google form to fill out so there's a slight barrier to entry and you don't get bots or scalpers as often. It also doesn't require quite as much work as an art contest potentially has.
I liked the art contest idea, I think it would be a fun idea to do a redesign of your vtuber contest, or some other art challenge. I also think a “draw this in your style” would be good since it gives a general idea of what to draw, the style of the art just changes artist to artist. Designing new outfits for your characters could also be a fun idea!
Outfit contests are a lot of fun! I know contests for me are often something I use to help get out of art block and the added prize would definitely be sufficient motivation. It also help to find new artists to connect and improve with.
Seeing the other comments, definitely an outfit contest would be super cool especially if it has a theme! 💚
echoing a lot of ppl here, but art contests are always fun! and ofc different kinds specialising on something like animation, or outfit design or even crafting.

I think the best way for giveaways is like design for outfit or pins so people with maybe not the best in the arts can still do the contest because its more on the design and not the art skills!!!!! :) (btw sorry you had to go through that and I hope your doing ok)
I really like the contests where you create something and win based on the work you put in instead of winning based on luck so I really enjoyed your art contest! I think more giveaways where it challenges the viewer to create something are really helpful because, at least for me, it helped me try something new and helped my art skills develop which has more meaning than a luck-based contest. I think that more creative-based contests are good but maybe change the medium - design a sticker, create an animation, sculpture, or photography - so that it reaches a wide audience and many people have an opportunity to show off the skills that they have developed. You could also use a different theme such as an art contest based on the season or an aesthetic!

Art contests are always fun because there are interactions in the community and help people discover new artists! But that's very time-consuming and difficult to organize it and make the decision so having a random winner also sounds nice. It's trilling to not know who won until the last moment hehe (´▽`)

You could always use a variety of methods, like how people mention an art contest, raffles, spin the wheel, etc! Swapping between them can help a variety of people participate and have a chance.

Giveaways are can be a tough nut to crack but like others mentioned, perhaps a combo of art contests and something like reshares/comments (semi-high effort like tagging friends+sub/follow + a emoji requirement/mini quip of why) on socials for randomized giveaways. Honestly, my favorite giveaway/contest methods are definitely art contests. Plus who doesn't like receiving fanart. I like the idea of you picking your favorite art piece out of all the contest entries you get rather than someone to be picked randomly.

I think a good idea that would also help bring out your personality and “character” would be to do fan contests not specific to illustrations, like art, fan fiction, music, etc. It would give you a LOT of free fan work and I think everyone would be really happy to be chosen because you like their work and not just being a random pick
Def outfit contests, similar on how they pick the winter miku design each year (i think)! you can choose prompts you want and then at like a live stream go through the ones you love or do it in private and then annouce it on social media!

I been collecting since 2013! From 2019-2022 I went on a figure hiatus and I returned back in 2023. For me, I started enjoying figure collecting again when I made TH-cam videos reviewing my figures! I am learning skills like video editing and graphic design that I can leverage at work!

What about an art contest about the favorite figurine somebody owns? It would be a cute way to show it off or highlight something that person really loves about that figure ❤
Art contest are fun, I love them. I think a suggestion could be there's different categories for people that they go in, you can choose the ones you like from those maybe spin a wheel for them too?
You could also try to do multiple small giveaways. If you're unsure about how to do the giveaway maybe you can collect some ideas through a form (like art contest, writing contest, design contest, photo contest, cosplay contest, sing contest etc.) and put those in an online spinning wheel. The one it lands on is the contest that can be held and people can enter their piece.
I also think it's really great of you to explore what truly makes you feel happy and as a collector myself...I absolutely feel the FOMO lol.
Art contests do sound cool. I'm not really super good with art but I love seeing people's creativity flow. Maybe art contests based around the character the figure is based on?
Also your perspective on figure collecting is totally valid! Hobbies don't last forever and it's healthy to move on and change how you engage with them
You could host a live competition since you do livestreams. It could be a live drawing competition, or a game were the winner gets selected!

I think in terms of setting up giveaways, google forms and discord are some really good ways to do it OUTSIDE of art contests. It would help a lot with the form/address issue if you used google forms because then you can just ask for all of the info there. And with google forms you could just number the entries and pick a number on a random wheel spin or something. Then you could just have a different google form to send to winners on discord! Discord has a lot of bots and stuff for giveaways. Im pretty sure one is literally called giveaway bot where all people have to do is react to the giveaway they want to enter and you set the date and time, then the bot does the rest of the work, I'm pretty sure it even does the announcment of the winners on its own after the fact.
I really enjoyed the art contest idea! Feels more engaging as a participant (and your vtuber is super fun to draw ^.^), I like the idea some of the others mentioned of maybe doing an outfit design contest or a themed prompt based on the figure you're giving away

I remember i once joined a dtiys that had a random winner. Basically the host would js put all the people that joined in a random wheel and the person who won would be the giveway winner lol (pretty simple). You could do smth similar maybe? But since it's yt you could ask ppl to sumbit their entries into a google form and maybe e-mail them or reach out through other socials to let them know they won? You could also announce it at the start or end of a video!
I think a google form generally works well for giveaways even without an art contest :P

You could try an art contest with a specific prompt or style? Like maybe your sona in a decora style outfit or at some sort of parade? You could get a bunch of themes together and spin a wheel to keep the randomisation there. Either that, or you could share a wheel or randomiser with us so we can spin the wheel ourselves and have a bunch of different themes! Although i feel like people might just pick their favourite theme and say the wheel picked it for them... Either way, I'm excited !
Finding ways to involve your community would be a great way to give away your figures. As a lot of people have been saying: art contests!! You could also host some kind of events; either games or something on livestreams! Since you mention you want to spend more time on personal growth, it may be also fun to motivate your audience to do the same by having them do the things they are passionate about. It doesn't have to be about who is the best or something like that, so randomizing it can be a way to overcome that!
Also, this video format of being just honest about your feelings is wonderful to see. I'm certain a lot of people can relate with it, so just do whatever feels right for you! Looking forward to more videos :)

I really love the idea of an art contest! I think since you yourself are an artist, it would really help to connect with your community! I don't think it would be a problem, since some people just don't want to/can't participate, but nonetheless its still a giveaway, and is meant to give something for free to the community, so its not as big of a deal. since its not really like they are giving anything for it anyways. :)

Oof, I felt that attention span tangent... Social isolation and social media access has definitely rotted my ability to just be, without reaching for my phone or even being able to keep a cohesive thought.
One way to do giveaways I've seen other TH-camrs do is some sort of program that can pick randomly from all comments on a particular video, sometimes they ask for a keyword too. They will also ask for an outside site of their choice/ user handle for DMing people, tho sometimes YT blocks certain words in the comments to discourage people from spamming their contact info for other sites. I'm not too clear on exactly what program others use for comment picking.
(I'm more of a lurker when it comes to any site really so I don't participate much in commenting... Get too anxious for some of the reasons you mentioned but also just a shy person.)
Wasn't able to participate in the last one due to a lack of motivation and confidence but, another art contest is also an option, tho that is more work on your part to judge the works submitted and only people who are confident in their skills would be able to participate, so that might be limiting.
I hope you are able to find happiness and grow. When a hobby becomes stressful... That's just horrid. I definitely feel the dissonance between wanting things and stuff and not wanting to be a mindless consumer, to have less of an impact on the environment by not participating in consuming so much. I like my stuff, a lot too... but it's just stuff and it only ever feels like a quick fix to shop myself better, at times the space it takes up the money I spend... It can be upsetting... I could have spent that money on something useful or more fulfilling or even helping others...

I think doing an art contest where’s it’s “draw my oc in an occupation” would be super fun! Contestants draw your OC in an occupation, uniform and all!
I also struggle with this issue, and this really hit close to home for me. For the giveaway, I feel like a random wheel would work best, as I feel like this would give everyone an equal chance 🐱
I watched the clip and at the same time I was thinking of an answer to the question and I didn’t really find an effective way, but I really liked the drawing competition. It developed myself more, but in the end I have one way, which is the form that is filled out by entering the link. It is really convenient.
I think both art contests and normal contests for ppl who aren’t that interested in art are both rlly good !! for art contests u could ask for different types of art maybe a sticker sheet contest or an outfit designing contest! I really enjoy art contests for these things since you need to put like effort into it n stuff its nice bcs it also sort of makes sure someone who actually wants it gets it instead of someone just planning to re-sell it since they had to put in the work to go make the piece of art itself if that makes sense but I think overall maybe ballancing out the amount of art contests to giveaways could be good to atleast sort of give others who dont draw much a chance aswell :DD

I think art contests plus a wheel would be fun, because then people still have the ability to win even if they arent the most artistic. Its all about creating a fun contest that anybody can enter and win but its more fun then just submitting a quick form.

I think it would be fun for people to draw the figure that you’re giving away in some type of theme that u can set, like if you’re giving away a miku figure and set the theme as winter then people draw the combo and the one that u like the most wins! Another way to include people who can't draw is making a quiz about yourself and having people guess things about u? I feel making a quiz can really make even more people have a chance to win. The higher the score, the more entries that person has in order to further the chances of winning! :3

I love that you're focusing on yourself and trying new things. As someone who also has a figure collection it definitely can consume your life and identity and it's awesome that you're choosing to focus on yourself.
For giveaways you can always do another art contest, maybe with some type of theme or something like a costume design contest. Random giveaways can also be fun with some type of interesting gimmick like a wheel or on a stream. You could also just do a Google form that asks questions so you have more of a choice in who wins but at the end of the day it's whatever you find the most appealing

My suggestion would be making art contests that could favour or encourage begginer or small artists . :D I saw your current contests entries and they were all so wonderfull , many from begginer artists that were just starting up their art accounts. .

I see everyone's putting in art contests- i was going too as well but maybe thats enough people suggesting art contests lol. It makes sense for so many people to be saying art contests as a lot of people look up to you for your art!! Instead of the artcontest, maybe doing a monthly giveaway for a while would help? One month you could do an art contest to appease the masses and the next you could do something for people who arent artists ( Video game contests/ edit contest/ random name draw from previous contests even ) These are easily set up in discord servers so maybe even a draw from names on a discord server?
