Who is a railfan and watching this
I'm looking forward to my upcoming cross-country trip. I heard, however, that the Capitol Limited no longer has dining car service, but only cold meals delivered to the sleeping cars. That is disappointing!
Lisa, your cross-country trip will be so much fun! And, Amtrak offers ready-to-serve meals aboard the Capitol Limited, with sleeping car passengers having the option to dine at available seating in the sleeping car lounge or be served in their bedrooms or roomettes. Nelson wagner UPDATE: I have returned from my trip, and took the Crescent, Capitol Limited, and California Zephyr trains. I have to say that the catered meal aboard the Capitol Limited was outstanding, as good as any meal in a fine, gourmet restaurant. It was not table service, but you could pick up the meal and eat it in the dining car or lounge car, so it was comfortable and enjoyable. Alcoholic beverages were included at no extra charge, too! A+++

Any useful tips when booking an Amtrak Vacation? Where can I find more detailed brochures to the travel destinations / itineraries?
The online information and on the app is pretty good, very useful. Additional details would be very helpful when planning a trip.
Are commuter skateboards allowed to be transported on trains and stored next to bicycles? Thank you for your response.
