    What should I fertilize my year old mango tree with?

    My three mango trees are all in bloom. This is very odd for the Keitt flowered earlier than the Haden and the Pim Saen Mun. I am looking forward to early fruit from my Keitt and a second flower set for the late season mango that Keitt is a tree you find mango on when all other trees have none. I can't brag enough about this tree.

      These are fertilizers and amendments that we sell. If you do not live in our area, 7 Springs Farm Supply carries many types of fertilizers and amendments ... and can ship them to you. Or check farm suppliers in your area.

    What would you recommend for initially planting a pickering mango in Venice, Florida?

      Do you mean as far as fertilizer? If it's small and just planted, really you do not want to fertilize it. Wait at least a month before fertilizing any recently planted mango tree and very small trees like ones that come in 3 gallon pots do not generally need fertilizer for some time.
      When and if you do fertilize a young mango tree, an easy fertilizer to find that works well is palm tree fertilizer. After the first year or two in the ground though you probably do not want to add fertilizers containing much if any nitrogen.

    Thanks for the information. I use the zero nitrogen fertilizer and the K-Mag. I was wondering at what rate(volume or pounds) do you recommend for each? Do you base that on trunk size or age? Thanks!

      It is difficult to provide detailed recommendations as different sellers have different instructions for use on their fertilizers and amendments based on factors such as quick release or slow release fertilizer, etc. We have posted a number of videos with our good friend and expert Har who describes many guidelines for successful fertilizing mango trees. You can find many of these by searching TH-cam for "Truly Tropical" and the topic you are interested in, such as "Fertilizer".
      Below are a couple of the videos to get you started!

      Thanks! I have viewed them and they have provided general guidance. I understand that there are going to be variances among products and situations. My mango trees have never done so well since I started with your fertilizers and recommendations. Always trying to get a little better.

    Can I use fox farm soil with worm casting

    • @TrulyTropical
      @TrulyTropical  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Like many companies, Fox Farm soil company makes a number of different soil blends, so it’s difficult to make a blanket statement recommending using one or another companies’ products for growing mango trees. However, it is not difficult to inexpensively make your own mango tree potting soil. There are a few recipes you can find online that all follow a similar mix. In general, a blend of approximately 30% pre-prepared or store-bought compost, with 30% sand or perlite for drainage, and 40% mulch/peat moss to hold moisture should work well. These are approximations that you can vary depending on such factors as expected rain fall/watering.
      Worm castings should be fine to add to your mix. Many growers believe that using worm castings in the soil for their mango trees promotes healthy growth, a larger, stronger plant with better flowering and fruit production.

    Hello. Are there any fertilizers that you’d recommend for people who aren’t in Florida and have the access to your fertilizers? I have a mango and sugar apple tree that I bought last year and they will remain in pots since I live in Dallas, Texas (zone 8).
