I’ll give it to that first rakdos sacrifice player.
They had it rough (they are evil and deserve to have it rough).... but they played a pretty tight game, and seemed like they were a good player.
Naw this guy massively mis played coulda had shark typoon down for 4 turns.
Now spellslinging with Sprite Dragon and Saheeli, that's a fun deck. Have a deck that revolves around recurring creatures between 1-3 mana along with spells 1-3 mana to the point i either beat you down with a 20/20 sprite dragon or flood the board with Saheeli. It's fun, it's stupid but it works sometimes. Vadrok is amazing in bringing Saheeli/Narset or just keep the engine going too.

hi there :) Sorry for the length of my com but I have a few things to say ^^'You forgot and important card to gain life in Dimir "Arrival of the eternals gods" You deal 4 damage to a creature, you gain 4 life, you amass 4, ok for 5 manas there's a cost but as you show us, "ritual of soot, cry of the carnarium, event of extinction" are PERFECT cards against mono red aggro decks. And if you don't play Dimir, cards like "light of hope", "revitalize", "life goes on", "bond of flourishing" "Pulse of Murasa" are very effective to gain many life against mono red in order to set up your own board and then win the game because they have no cards in hand and you still have 15-20 life or more ;) Usually I like to play black-green decks, because of "Questing Beast", then I wrath the board with a "Cry" or "Ritual", and I use"life goes on" = + 8life which makes them often tilt and concede when Garruk or Nissa or Vivian or Liliana or Sorin (+4life) or "Ugin" comes the turn after that).
And I think you are right there are many aggro mono red decks....I love to see mono red aggro deck players concede once they have played all their cards in 2-3-4 turns and see that their strategy won't make them win ;) I respect more mono reds with flying-planeswalkers-enchantments. It's like "I crush you fast or I concede". So playing against mono red aggro deck means pass the few daily turns then take control and win.
Actually to my opinion the decks which are very effective in ranked are strategy-combo- control decks of course. You won't go high in the ladder with mono red, everyone is prepared against it now.
It would be interesting to look at the historic version of this deck - I'm fed up with goblins!
Witch's Vengeance could help you wipe their entire board and Hushbringer can shutdown Muxus' and Goblin Ringleader's ETB effect. And since the only removal they have is Gempalm Incinerator, Hushbringer might be hard to deal with especially if you wipe their board with Witch's Vengeance before casting it (the flying and lifelink on it is also a plus). Don't go crafting these cards if you don't already have them though, I don't know much about Historic so it might not work out even though it sounds pretty solid in my head lol. You'd also need some other single target removal, and since you'd be in Orzov, Revitalize definitely comes to mind for card draw and life gain. Settle the Wreckage could be a 1x or 2x as well. Worth exploring if goblins are really dominating Historic that much and you already have some of these cards.

This seems like the perfect opportunity to use Unmoored Ego (or the new black one that does the same but gives them a zombie). You can easily guess the key cards in the deck you're facing; Embercleave, Torbran, Cavalcade, Cat, Oven, Mayhem Devil, and just pluck them from the opponent's deck before they ever hit the field.

Wondering how well this holds up with the new meta. Been trying to make a Dimir deck control but no luck.
Seeing no thought erasure triggers me however as you said this is specifically vs Aggro destruction AND you are Twice the MTG player and at least Three times the deck builder I am so I am excited to see how this goes.
Hey cgb ive been grinding azorious and i agree, rakdos and red, some mono white or green. Gonna give this a whirl, I gave up on dimir before ikoria, looking forward to picking it back up
I've gotten so used to binge watching CGB at 1.75x speed that when I play the game myself now it feels sooo sloww. Fun fact: At 1.5x CGB doesn't even sound sped up.

I feel like this is a deck I would love. I built a graveyard hate deck with Ashiok some mill and 1 scheming semetry just to get dirty. I was built almost primarily to crap on cat oven. Feel like most people these days utilize the graveyard. It was a mr burns kinda deck me.

Dimir back in ravnica, with spybug and disinformation, was the reason I started playing magic. I saw a friend playing it and it looked so cool. So, I have a special kind of love for dimir.

I have to share this story with you and no, it does not require a response. It is merely an example of how things go, quite ironically, sometimes. I watched this video and I also like to come up with creative ways to try to beat the current meta. I build a black and white creature control deck with a fair amount of flexibility and dove into 10 games of diamond ranked constructed. I lost 6 and won 4, but here is the interesting point. In those 10 games I did not match up with a mono-red or Rakdos sacrifice deck even once...not once. *sigh* It is hard to prove a point when no one you play is using the current hot meta.
That second match was a dumpsterfire of a game of magic. I honestly dont know how you put up with the shuffler and the meta, but hold in their CGB!

I love Dimir Control, I have a list I’ve been tweaking for a year now slightly changes with every set, Kefnet is my spice, it helped me get to Mythic this season

I am playing Dimir Control only... It is pretty different from your decklist... I am beating the majority of the "fancy decklists" ... I am going to compare the two lists and see if there's anything I want to change in mine... Maybe I'll put back in two Chemister's Insights . Gonna stick to Fae o Wishes ing up a Grafdigger's Cage or Tormond's Crypt however... one maindeck Karn and one sideboard Karn... equals Rakdos weeping

Man, I always play against the Rakdos/mono red poo poo. I did just play some Historic with the "FNM All Access" event, and it was fun as hell. Standard feels like the same 4 decks all the time, but historic has heaps of fun jank & feels more like what I want Magic to be. Just curious - What're everyone's thoughts on Historic? When I spend wildcards for Historic & the game comes at me like "You sure man?" It feels like it's not a format that "wants?" to be promoted. Curious on thoughts and opinions...

I think the meta must change between the bottom of mythic and the upper 1000. I'm around 81% in mythic and I'm running into all kinds of decks. I just went against a shrine deck. It's almost like those at the top are playing the strongest to stay at the top while us at the bottom are having fun playing whatever.
Oh and Erebos' Intervention for Lifegain and/or graveyard removal btw

I think being honest the shell was a really good idea if you had improved early card draw. It always seemed like you were 1 card draw away from wrecking face QUICKLY.

you should play some historic CGB, idk about anyone else but i'm permanently bored of standard constructed, except the occasional GP/PT/championship match
Why does nobody run Kaervek to counter the red and red/black sac decks. Kills almost all of their creatures.
I'm sure that Disdainful stroke doesn't make sense in this meta (no agent) because all the good cards with HIGH CMC are NON CREATURE spells.. so negate is more sensible.

When you build half your deck to counter mono red and rakdos and still have a hard time winning. Being on the draw against that decks are just ridiculous. Magic is not about complex plays and nice interactions anymore, it is about 50/50 of being on the play, dropping 1-2 drops and win before turn 4
