- Planet Zoo Flamingo Habitat | Speed Build | Planet Zoo | Meilin Zoo | Ep. 7 | Enclosure | Asian theme | In this speed build video of our Meilin Zoo in Planet Zoo Base Game Sandbox Mode, we build a beautiful Asian-themed habitat, enclosure, and exhibit design idea for the Greater Flamingo. We make a cute waterfall to fill up the landscape and build a few viewing galleries incl. one in the middle of our water section. aw man, how did your comment just make me cry? Birds are such a passion of mine. Yesterday I stopped and watched huge vultures work their natural magic by tending to roadside fodder. I really hope more birds come in to play

I relate to this... I picked up Planet Zoo a few days ago and rocks are my best friends.
The lake for the flamingos looks really nice. I would like to have mandarin ducks on the lake. They look so cute.
Oh okay I didnt know but I looked it up and Flamingos are put in front of most zoos because they are very eeasy to recognize and they can be seen from far away. Theyre also very easy to take care of and breed
And you can hear them from far away 😄

Yeah, I had to process that for a few more seconds after she said it. rofl. I tend to agree with her though. Man, she probably triggered my olfactory system and I'll smell subway bread every time I see a flamingo... hehe
Making the rocks look mossy with those plants is such a good idea, really glad you utilized the techniques you learned from mikesheets. You are both super talented and it's so cool to see creators working together and learning from each other as well. I can't wait to see what else you do with all your different zoos. I can't get the game yet but I'm learning a lot just from watching your videos, it's such a great experience for me.

You make a good point about the flamingos usually being near the entrances of zoos. I also feel like flamingo habitats are too loud to have anywhere else in the zoo and the entrance usually has the least amount of animals to disturb.
The best I've seen so far. I too go very heavy on the rocks, something Zoo Tycoon 2 brought to me.

I love this but I'm glad Silv reminded you they're not from Asia, that kinda made me giggle. That being said, if they had more bird options in this game, I'm certain you would have gone for something from the area you themed the habitat around.
If there were cranes in the game they would fit perfectly in this exhibit
This exhibit could be condensed into an open pond with koi or mandarin ducks if they're ever added.
Well i hink they are in asia, because looking at the zoopedia, not talking about rl but in the zoopedia it mentions them living in asia as well as africa and another place.
The Oklahoma City Zoo has their flamingos in an Asian themed area with koi fish and others. It's also right at the front of the zoo. So your build is perfect!
I love what you did with these habitat. The waterfall with these flat stones looks really cool!! 😁And i love gardens, habitats and so one which has a lot of flowers and foliage in it🤩

Our Zoo in New Orleans has a small enclosure of Flamingos as the very entrance of the zoo, right across from the gift shop. They also have another enclosure at the back of the zoo in the swamp area in a natural lake area where you can feed them and feed fish. A keeper told me that they rotate the flamingos biweekly so every flamingo gets a lot of time in a more natural area of the zoo. It's really nice!

waterfalls are my kryptonite because I want to use them everywhere. I remember going from planet zoo to planet coaster and was really sad about the lack of waterfall options in that game, so i went back to planet zoo. I think my best habitats I've made are the ones with water features( maybe the llama is alright it's the most effort i've put into a habitat w/o a water feature)

I really hope one day frontier does a water effect that is like a trickle of a creek or stream. Just like you said we need some new water features that can help make different water effects besides the classic waterfall. What you made here with what we have now is amazing!
actually, there were flamingos in a Hawaiian zoo so we obviously went there. When we finally go there, the first thing we saw was 2 dragonflies mating the got eaten by a flamingo. I was with my 2 little sisters and one cousin with their faces like ":0" lol! Aalso thank for hearting my comment for naming animals lol.

In the zoo of our city (Zürich, Switzerland) the flamingo is located at the entrance too.
When i used to go to Buenos Aires Zoo, Argentina, i was a kid, remembered what you've said, they had the car parking lot, near the entrance and around it, there was a really big lake with flamingos, the zoo is closed now, for OBVIOUS REASONS, but that was beautiful

Your totally right at the St. Louis zoo you hear the animals making sounds but at the entrance or close there is a big pond with flamingos

Flamingos frequently are in zoos (especially at the entrance- not always, but often). They are an easy species to care for, and breed; and breed like wild fire too.

My zoo has flamingos early on in our zoo right next to this beautiful koi pond so your asian theme really inspired me to work on that type of exhibit for them later on. Sadly i cant make any koi fish though lol

Just as a information:
The water lily would not be able to grow if there are even little waves of the waterfall. Water lily only grows if the water is very calm.
But i think its to much realism. I love how it looks!
