I am trying to make a decision between these and the Quest Element. I will use them for backpacking from low in the valley to over the tree line. Thus mixed terrains of easy paths and off trail, but also easy terrain but long distance hikes at low altitude from one village to another for instance. I am worried about the flexibility of the Quest 4, whereas the Element are said to be more flexible. Do you think that the Quest 4 are good enough for those "village to village" long hikes, despite the stiffness of the sole vs the Element?
It’s hard to say. I haven’t tried the Element. But based on my experience with the Quest, I would have to say either one would be a great choice as they are very well built and virtually require no break in.
LOL, those look way too clean and crease-free to be 7 mos old. I have pair just like them . Mine started creasing between the toe cap and where the laces start after a few months... Enough that the sides of the toe cap pulled away from the lather where the creases occurred. Probably going to clean a reglue those sections. Great boots aside from that.
The up close picture was right when I opened them from the box. The video portion was after 7 months. No creasing yet. I guess I’ll keep my fingers crossed.

The element isn't as durable and heavy duty I would go with the quests best overall for hiking.
Anything needed for a break-in period? - I am new and want to start hiking / camping but have concerns about blisters or foot pain
I wore them a couple hours around the house and that was it. Just started wearing them. I personally never had a problem.
Hay Pedidos a México?? Yo quiero unas
How are these against snake bites?
My guess would be not good based on the snake boots I have seen before.
