    16 year dark age under the corporatocracy, no kind of rennaissance in sight. Many religious people are not climate deniers. It's not in the culture of many faith communities to unite as one caring voice for Creation Stewardship and mercy for future generations. With a little leadership most people of faith are ready and able to take a stand.

      Nor did Australia. Now we are dredging a channel through the Great Barrier Reef to coal port. *sigh*

    • @rtw952
      @rtw952 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The US signed (then Vice President Al Gore did on US citizen's behalf) but Republican Congress refused to ratify it.
      The good news was: The US actually ended up cutting a lot more emissions than many nations that signed and ratified, and subsequently failed to deliver (there were no consequences for countries like Canada, Russia, Austria and several others ). Not saying the protocol was unneeded, just that other factors (such as the fact that coal makes no economic sense) can help.
      Obviously it is better if international treaties actually work and everyone pulls in the same direction.
      But even if the US leaves Paris that does not automatically mean we are all fried (though it does raise the odds, let us be clear about that).

    but who says the CO2 that is more produced has an effect to the climate change? its also possible that the plants just grow more due to the increased ammount of the gas. photosynthesis needs CO2 and so it would be quiet logic that the reaction can be done better and more.
    and to the methane.. ok but where does it go or to which product is it degraded?

    Keep in mind that there are lobbies for "clean" energy as well. It isn't just oil companies. Also, because governments issue about 20 billion in grants for global warming research every year, there is also a funding bias on top of the lobbies.
    So, if you say money is an issue, you can't just stop the taxicab at oil companies and be happy. You have to investigate all sides to formulate your conclusion.

    It doesn't matter if I am a 'warmist' or 'denier' - what matters is the fact. The facts are that Sandy is a natural but extremely rare event - weather is complicated and that a storm is caused by the interaction of lots of different factors.
    Note, climate =/= weather. And, in our limited history in measuring weather and the triggers and causes for weather - there is no surprise people blame this on human induced 'climate change'.

    Because we are wealthy. Our wealth comes from oil. We are also loudmouths when it comes to climate change. There is room for two, as we are rich enough from producing oil, so that we can buy our way out of the agreement we claim to promote. The flick is produced in Norway, so it is a kind of ironic portrayal of ourselves. Our culture used to focus on our effort, or lack thereof. Globalists brought the blame culture, and it turned of the lights. Stupidville next for Norway.

    Richard Muller: "Call me a converted skeptic." (NY Times article, July 28, 2012, "The Conversion of a Climate Change Skeptic)
    Sadly it was his own propensity to announce his findings before publication that hampered the review process, which is still ongoing. Science and journalism come to odds at the junction of accuracy and publicity.

    No skeptic I’ve met said that “… carbon dioxide from burning of fossil fuels will prove to be the greatest pollutant of human history. It is likely to have severe and detrimental effects on global climate.” (Richard Muller, 2003). So perhaps he became a skeptic later? Not so much. Richard Muller, 2008: “There is a consensus that global warming is real. …it’s going to get much, much worse.”

  • @marcadamski3995
    @marcadamski3995 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Don't worry about climate change, it's actually not the worst problem humanity is facing. At least it won't lead to human extinction. We might loose a lot of food resources, some coastal cities and land, fishing resources etc, but the industrial nations will be able to deal with it. We'll probably have to genetically engineer some new plants or stuff (probably a profitable market). And some few animals will die out, boohoo. Oh, and more extreme storms. And we might have to build some fences.

  • @Gremlinmeister
    @Gremlinmeister 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    just to inform u all about CO2 emission
    the worldwide production of CO2 by human is 30 Gt (gigatonnes) per year. sounds quite much but on the other hand! the nature itself produces 770 Gt per year! for thos who are not good at math. about 4% of CO2 emission worldwide caused by human being. now tell me again how this can have an effect the climate change...
    there are many other gases we have to focus on.. just to name some they are methane or SO2

    Not sure where you've been researching, but 29,000 + scientific papers support human assisted climate change theory. How many counter said theory? Less than 20(and that's being generous).
    That's why one side is 'louder' - because it's the side of the argument overwhelmingly supported by the facts. Unfortunately, it isn't loud enough - as this video illustrates, it's an issue that is not being addressed.

    I want to be fair... what problem do we have from any climate ?

    • @ljkolnick
      @ljkolnick 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Dave W The climate we evolved and currently lived in is short range compared to possible climates. By pushing the limits, we risk a host devastating problems that we will more and more lose control over as time goes on and if we don't drastically change course. At an extreme (as a thought experiment), we are aware of climates in which any life on earth is clearly impossible by looking at other planets. Venus is an excellent example of an atmosphere with an extreme greenhouse gas situation. Again, I don't mean that we are close to a Venus-type climate, but to answer your question, humans are certainly not able to survive any climate.
      There is lot's of information online about these. If you have more specific questions, I'd be happy to answer them.

    • @buster5211
      @buster5211 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +ljkolnick Hi ....OK with respect, how can I get worried about a huge problem that has not yet done any harm . Venus ? OK

    • @ljkolnick
      @ljkolnick 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It is doing harm. There are many instances of increased extreme weather events which takes a serious toll on human systems and human life. There are already climate refugees.
      That said, I understand that this particular problem is not always easily seen. It's important to understand that these are very large scale trends that are not directly relatable to day to day experience on a personal level, depending on your region. But lot's of climate modelling by different scientists and countries are in agreement about climate change happening and the observed effects are also in agreement and this over decades.

    • @buster5211
      @buster5211 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +ljkolnick OK which "instances" and which "events"and what "particular problems" are we supposed to have Faith in? Doing harm ? Where?

    • @ljkolnick
      @ljkolnick 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Judging by your language, I am wondering why you're putting things like "events" and "instances" in quotations. Are you skeptical of my understanding out those words? Are you skeptical of news in general?
