I'm definitely backing this game but I'm still deciding which version to get. I wouldn't get the metal component because of the spring but rather because I feel like it would be more durable than cardboard? Would you recommend it for that purpose as well?

interesting point that hadn't occurred to me. i suppose it's more durable, sometimes dual layer board can curl a bit due to humidity and these won't do that, so that'a something to bear in mind (we had that happen to us a lot living in malta)

The metal spring loaded catapult toy is a complete turnoff - what did they feel was lacking in the game that a toy upgrade was needed? The toy is supposed to get you enthused? The toy that doesn’t work that well?

bear in mind, it's a fun additional bonus thing. the core game doesn't come with that, but regular dual layer player boards with a channel in the center :)
it's just an optional bit of whimsey for folks who are looking for that!

i'd say at this point it's a solid 8. can't get specific though because there were a few issues i had with the game, and i talked to the publisher and they're working on some 2p tweaks :) so based on the potential of the prototype i'm going to say somehwere in the low 8 range with strong potential to climb!
