- In this guide I show you how to build a Mythic Weapon. This guide is intended to show, step by step the requirements to build a mythic.
NOTE: After you get you Einherjar and Nyzul points you need to use them each to get an item. These items are obtained from the Einherjar lamp npc and the Salvage permit npc Once you have enough points purchase the Balrahn's Eyepatch from Kilusha (H-7 Nashmau) and the Wyrmseeker Areuhat from Zasshal (K-9 Whitegate)

I am making movies of FFXI, but mostly Japanese.
I want to make videos so that overseas people can know about the Japanese FFXI player.

Thank you. Glad to know there is someone out there making videos for Japanese FFXI players as well. It is still a great game but it can be difficult to pick up for someone who is new or coming back after a long time.

Holy shit that's a lot of work. You could solo all of it at 99 and it feels overwhelming, I can't even fathom doing this back during the 75 era when you would've needed help doing most of this.
I don't know how anyone could have enough patience to do this lol...must be easier at 99 surely but yeah back in the 75 era seems next to impossible.
Yeah fuck all that. I never got a RME for that reason, the tedious work. Fuck doing all that shit for a video game. I'll do all that tedious work for my masters degree, or doctorates degree... but not for a video game. Ain't nobody got time fo' dat
Mythics and relics were pretty much relegated to the people who could social engineer their way towards it. It took effort to get yourself into a good End-game Linkshell so you could actually do the content. Most of this stuff was doable with a group because there were other rewards involved along the way (in Salvage and Nyzul and Einherjar, etc). But you had to actually be in a solid static or at the very least a decent endgame-oriented LS at the time to even dream about getting a mythic back then.
I believe it is very much soloable for most of the way to i119 nowadays, however.
It is so worth the work (at least for SMN and BST)!
Ive been playing since 2004 and I refused to do rema at all due to the work, even long after i119 came out. I just said Ill try it and its really not been bad. I did relic and aeonic and am currently working on this one and Im not so concerned now. But yeah at 75 I would rather have been dead.
Finished my Nirvana 5 years ago then took a break after the AH weapons were better. Its so much easier and cheaper now, although I would never do one again! Playing the game again now and loving the i119 version :)

Man this helped. I couldn’t comprehend the wiki or bg explaining the tp fight. Also you say words from this game correctly. Now I wont sound so odd on discord.
This is crazy that people actually did all of this during ToAU(that's when I left). I remember seeing relics and mythics back in the day and being in awe. Only a handful of people on a server completed this mission. I went back recently to solo the old content and try out level 99. Every pld I see has an aegis now.

I actually donated a lot of gil to one of my buddies which i been playing the game for 6 years. We trio most of the content. It was a great investment as we were able to do much more in the game now that he has the shield.
Just resubbed....going to start working on Burtang, check back in about 2 years when I can actually finish this lol

Hello, and thank you for this overview video. I have a mythic weapon (Nirvana for my SMN), but I went with others who aren't around.
I've yet to look through all of your videos, and maybe you covered these topics, but could you point me to the existing video on completing the 50 missions, climbing the 100 levels, etc? I hope you have instructional videos (or know where to find them). Unfortunately, I'm looking at doing it solo at this point. BTW, I'm IBHalliwell on Ragnarok. What server are you on? (I was on Caitsith.)
Mythics in my opinion are really nice and hold more value than other endgame weapons. I always wanted one for my rdm but I opted out and built Almace instead.
He probably refers to the amount of work required for it..
Lucky for you. I got nin katana nagani, I think. instead of almace back in the day. What a waste as nin is completely useless after abyssea.
Awesome video, working on my Burtgang, this really paves the way and makes the process more linear and easy to understand.

I never was able to get a mythic because it was so time consuming but I always wanted Almace. I finally got the sword but I had to let my social life go due to distractions. It took me 3 years to build a Almace with the weaponskill because I was in and out of the game. It was difficult since I soloed most of it by myself and always had to compete to get drops from other groups. But when I got it, man, the feeling...but I still have to upgrade pass 85 sooooo, yeah,lol. I'm never farming a Mythic...
Man this process is just daunting...I just barely reached the first quest after getting CPTs rank. You gotta figure the process is so long because it's been years in the making, making a mythic now is just speed running 20 yrs of content.
Not sure if you still make vids, but I’m currently working on Burtgang.
Takes a couple weeks nowadays at least for me with limited playtime. Just make sure you're being efficient with your time in between Einharger runs do 2x Nyzul or 3 assaults because you're locked out for 1 hour after each run anyways.
Well i was going to play a Summoner but it's my understanding they suck without Nirvana. After seeing this I suppose I'll just play puppet or beast instead! Thanks for the information!

Great video!, i stopped back when the level cap was still 75 an i only managed to collect around 2k alex or so before i stopped playing cuz all my friends left, about how long does it take to make a mythic now a days if your just farming Salvage? back when i played it had a lockout an you couldn't spam it.
The best zone to farm has a daily lockout still unfortunately. You can get from 70-130 alex from that zone per day. So I wouldn't suggest doing it through that method alone because it would take you about 300 days. You can buy alex for around 5k each on most servers. You can also get alot of alex in ambuscade ( a popular endgame event these days). I would suggest using a combination of these methods. Around 90 days would be a pretty reasonable amount of time to expect it to take if you are putting in a couple hours working on it per day

I finished the assaults and finished the aht urgan missions, but somehow i cannot get the capitain level promotion, any ideas?
The only thought is somehow you missed an assault. To get captain you need to complete all 50 missions. However you can spam out some other assaults and move up in rank without doing all the assaults of that tier.
If you go in your menu and go under missions, there is a list of assaults you have completed. My recommendation is to go through that list and figure out which assault you missed and then complete it. Also from a tiny bit of research it looks like you need to complete the mission for captain, you can not just get the KI to rank up to captain from the curio moogle.

I was interested in starting a mythic... Now I don't give a shit about it after seeing how much of my life I would have to put into it. I'm playing in real time while bots are spamming everything 24hrs a day, 7 days a week, and there is NOTHING you can do about it, SE doesn't even address that anymore.

if you ever want to be extremely bored or simply burn yourself out from FFXI just read on how to build a relic or watch this video. If you pass that first step and don't fall asleep mid point, you can challenge yourself into actually trying it in game. Building a relic just 1 is annoying then again there are people that have 10+ built which says a lot about there personal health.
A relic is much quicker and easier to create than a Mythic. I also didn't find it boring at all.
Creating a relic in FFXI is no different than any other hobby in life, so personal health is not a factor in any of it.
If you play piano and you aren't a professional and its just a hobby you do for fun, it is no more productive than playing FFXI. One could even argue playing FFXI is more productive as it is a much more affordable hobby.
is the game still active in 2020?
Yes. Some servers are much less populated these days though. The most populated servers (Asura, Bahamut and Odin) are still quite active.

I did. Was on Valefor from a little after American release until Adoulin. I missed 11 too though and when I came back I played on Valefor for a while and then moved to Asura.

Mythic is definately a LONG process. Relic is quickest unless you can get a group to help with an Aeonic. And Empyrean is long but not as bad as mythic.

It is possible to do all of it solo. However, there are a handful of assaults (Lost and Found, Desperately Seeking Cephalopods, Orichalcum Survey, and Lebros Supplies) that can be a pain to do solo. Everything else you should be able to do easily. They added more time for the same time lamp floors in Nyzul so those are quite easy to do now. I would suggest shouting for 1 or 2 partners to do the assaults with. With a few attempts you could solo them, it would just be a pain.

This has to be the most lengthy terrible laborious task to complete in FFXI
Yep glad i quit long ago,these insane grinds SE created to keep players around spending money is just not good gaming.They changed the game from a grouping game into grinding individual rewards.They also changed it from a ability/spell game into a gear based game,all bad decisions.The player SHOULD always 100% of the time be the main factor and not the gear or weapons.
I'm at this obstacle myself, I believe the missing link is completing all 100 levels of nyzle isle. I think after that I'll get the captain rank
It is a role playing game, a proper one at that. I think it is entirely reasonable for SE to create a proper system for Final Fantasy RPG players to experience a fully fleshed out system to create the most powerful weapons in the entire game.
I also think it is great that you can choose to do all of it in a party or entirely solo if you so choose. Being forced to constantly have someone at your side is a major hinderance, and one of the reasons the game never had the opportunity to really grow in revenue.

I want one so bad... just one... but it's just too much work for me. I have no friends and no linkshell, and any time I try to make friends or join a linkshell, nothing comes of it, so this is forever a dream. My only hope is to win Mog Bonanza. So far, not going too great.
Gotta take it one step at a time. There are a lot of steps but they are all extremely achievable.
