Awesome review! I've never been a fan of regular Cobra troops being crimson, I think the Crimson Guard should always be its own faction inside of Cobra. Regardless, this figure looks awesome, the color palette looks great.
As much as I want to go all in on Classified I have to force myself to limit my collection to only build a Crimson army. Thus far I have the twins, 3 original crimson guards, 2 retro guards, 2 crimson BATs, and just added those 2 Vipers. I do have the all crimson twins and Baroness on preorder as well as 2 crimson alley vipers. That may be it after that. Not sure if I have any room for anymore crimson painted figs.
I guess the sub-teams were inspired by the old Action Force in the UK that only had sub-teams for the good guys. Night Force is kind of similar to the SAS and Crimson seems inspired by the Red Shadows. As an original fan of Action Force before GI Joe I kind of prefer some of the sub-teams like Python Patrol.
I am not all in on the crimson team passed on the bat & the strike team but I did grab two of these guys there dope and I can’t wait for a wild weasel done in this tone of red (and I’m sure they will do a bright red one with the haslab rattler we all know that is coming this year but personally I prefer the more darker ,muted tones over the brighter cartoonish stuff )
I like the vipers along this mold, the crimson version is okay I like the cobra island ones the most but I thought of picking up a few of these. So many to collect that I’m behind on. I got my super 7 ultra cobra commander today my first of that like and my first cobra commander figure in the modern times. The last one i got of him was way back when they gave him that space combat armor in the 3 3/4 line. People complain about the look of the Joes in classified being too heavy on sci fi but I think they’ve forgot about that version of cobra commander in his battle armor and you don’t get much more sci fi than that particular version of cobra commander from the same era that majority of these joes came out in the 3 3/4 size only back then. I hope we get more modernized takes of Duke and Scarlett in uniforms like they’ve done with their classified lines, it’s only so many times I’ll pick up Scarlett in her original released uniform at this point. Lady Jaye is another one that could use a uniform refresh imho, and sgt stalker. I actually liked what they did with Duke in the classified line to be honest.

Picked up a couple of Crimson Vipers. I think they look great. Wouldn't mind getting a couple more at some point.

Im going to paint his pads blue once I find a good way to do so. Not liking all the black.
oh the collectors are using the packaging rope for their figures? go back to plastic fasteners immediately! im out on these repaints.
