I'm assuming they are clones frozen in the ice chamber or they must been frozen in the present timeline when perfesor e glad freezes both present elder and princess scroob into ice and bowser must of been collecting time in the winter time and kept them lock away inside the ice chamber this stuff could happen inside the remake of partners in time where bowser polite were fightning inside a world War 1 and 2 were they fight for thier kingdom and reclaim bowser kingdom in both present and past where baby starlow was being raised by prince bowser polites long time ago by having 4 different captains leading entire time with them and the secret characters would be the alien scroob since 4 of the scroobs did show up the first was during the fawful show where he was on the chair watching and enjoying the show and the second and third and fourth was a Short boss battle which is near the finel battle of dark fawful and dark bowser event second secret character would also be kemet third and fourth secret character would be prince bowser and present king Koopa

The fact that they say they beat them as babies means that the timeline we've been following is the one where the bros were babies, not when they were adults traveling through time.

@@throwawayaccount3707 Probably an anomaly or the game developers didn't think that far ahead, otherwise everyone would have talked about what the shroobs did when you're playing the game in present time.
Bee Waifu it actually makes sense if you think about it. You can find Fawful in the underground sewers as the babies and he talks about the events of superstar saga. The shroobs could have invaded the past and the present. Bowser captured the shroobs in the past and brought them to the present. Then fateful came and the events of BIS happened.
They have the textures already done for the Shroobs and their leaders, along with the bosses, as seen in the background. Partners In Time remake next?

Same, I have a lot of nostalgia for it but if any game in the series needed a remake it was partners in time.
Me too, it's actually the very only M&L game I haven't played and from what I've heard, it's the one with the least amount of sales. A remake would've been a great way to make it more accessible.

Seeing the Shroobs reminds me of just how screwed up the whole Time Travel thing was in PiT. Considering the Shroobs invaded in the past and it didn't effect the present at all then it could have meant 1 of 2 things; They traveled to an Alternate Timeline or the Shroobs would have been stopped by something no matter what they did. The Alternate Timeline thing was debunked by E. Gadd when what you did to him in the Past effected him in the Present leaving that the Shroobs would have been stopped as the only answer. The only thing that I think could have potentially stopped them is Kamek leading the Koopa Kingdom Army against them which could potentially explain how they were found here. That could explain how the Shroobs were originally defeated before E. Gadd altered the timeline by send Peach back in Time causing the Butterfly Effect to change everything.
a bit of a paradox, but didnt they just "not affect" the present because ...time or fate itself already knew the shroobs would lose against the mario brothers?
The E. Gadd thing is bullshit anyways, it doesn't make sense that he gets the memory in the past and only in the future he "remembers" about that thing and builds the water pump.
They should have made the scene so that baby mario spits water in front of PRESENT E. Gadd, and that's why he only gets the inspiration in that moment. Would have been much more coherent.
Luigi getting the credit he deserves makes me smile.
It just felt so heartwarming to see Mario stick up for his Bro, even saying he beat the Shroobs in the end.
Well, technically, luigi did in the end. Without his younger version crying, they wouldn't know the cure to save the past, thus the whole timeline would have been fucked.
I think these Shroobs are the same ones that beat adult Mario and Luigi when they invaded Toad village, maybe that's why they are especially confident and tease them during the fight (which no Shroob you fight does). Was it too much of a coincidence? Xd
It could have been so fun if we fought the elder princess while we saw the shroobs moving their eyes in the ice, showing they are watching and have a final hope for their species

Now that's just pure sad, why everyone underrate Luigi so badly in these games? Like it's just sad that most people are mean to luigi because he's not brave hero like Mario, they don't know that Luigi is the most caring brother at all time. He could sacrifice anything to save his bro. Damn.... he even broke through his fear of Boo's and went to Boo Mansion to rescue Mario. Most of times Luigi just reacted to it angrily and with courage but some could see that this bullying really upsets him and that way he hides that it actually hurts him that bad that it saddens him. This Shroob scene was moment where Starlow really broke through his mental wall, where he was just too sad to pretend to be courageous. I really like that in Luigi and i hope that he'll be treated better, not like "worse bro" or "just a green stache".

That's exactly what i was thinking! Luigi is really underrated, at least mario cares about him, and they have each other, luigi proves what he is capable of so many times but people still don't recognize him as brave.
Ikr the Luigi-bashing trope is getting ridiculous. And the Bowser-getting-defeated and Bowser-kidnapping-Peach trope too... Maybe I'm growing up, but M&L humor is kinda cringe.They have to explore motives and experiment with plot more if they want to make a decent M&L game.

Many argue that those are simply paintings and that the Shroobs fought here were remnants rounded up by the Koopa Troop since it's not easy to kidnap a princess whose being held by aliens.

The 2 games themselves actually respects and loves each other really well.
Keep in mind that one of the frozen shroobs in the back is elder princess shroob, this may be the only time we see her in the remakes, also bowser stopped a potential third shroob invasion by freezing the entire army in his freezer and seeing how the shroobs are stronger when you fight them it could have been a worse invasion

Its kinda confusing if you never played M&L partners in time. With was completely skipped for a remake. It only makes things even more confusing cause that game will be forever lost to time

Just realized something. So, I (also) just realized all the shroobs and bosses and such are frozen in the freezers. If so, that means bowser either got his hands on the bodies of the dead shroobs and froze then for some reason, which seems unlikely because bowser was not in the past at that time. (Baby bowser was, but what would he want with them?) So that means a second invasion came and bowser SINGLEHANDEDLY stopped the entire invasion.
Bowser is the biggest chad I’ve ever seen.

Given the power house that Bowser is, i can totally see it happening since the shroobs lost both their leaders.
It also comes to my mind that since they are a plant based humanoid aliens, they could also reproduce like plants on the soil. So, if not all of them were eliminated, bowser could have captured them if he found them later wandering around

That's the thing. Maybe Nintendo just put them there as an Easter egg. Why would Shrooboid Jr. be there as well? In the original inside story there is also the commander shroob frozen in there. So i think it's just for fun and apart from the 3 shroobs, it probably doesn't have to do anything with the story. Idk

Is it just me or is it concerning that the Shroobs are inside Bowser's Castle in the first place? I mean, especially because you can see Elder Princess Shroob, the most powerful of shroobs, in the top screen during the fight. If these aliens get unfrozen then the kingdom would be doomed.
At least we get to know what the shroobs would've looked like

I think I've solved the riddle of why Bowser takes Peach.
So, back when Mario was a baby, he was with Yoshi right? Yoshi beat Bowser and then presumably headed for the Mushroom Kingdom. I think Bowser may have followed Yoshi and saw that there was a Castle and went inside. That might be when he saw something, or rather SOMONE that he could steal as payback.

And that, is how Bowser got his habit of stealing Peach.
This also means Partners in Time happened not too long after Yoshi took Mario to the Mushroom Kingdom.

yeah there Partner's in Time there are 2 timelines for some reason. Maybe the timetravel created second one and caused the history to change and so Shroobs attacked in new timeline while in original one they didn't. Mario and Luigi from original timeline went through Superstar Saga events and helped their young selves.
It's seems like Inside Story takes place in new timeline, so we are playing as matured baby Mario and baby Luigi i guess.

Just imagine: A new mario & luigi game. Due to unfreezing the shroob trio, the other shroobs don't unfreeze as fast as the trio, but unfreeze later on. There would be a cutscene at the beginning of the game giving a flashback to BiS of mario and luigi shutting off the freezer. The shroobs break out along with the twin princesses and try to reclaim the mushroom kingdom, along with a new character which would be a shroob king. There would also be an x boss arena included with the game.
C'mon Nintendo. You already have the Shroob sprites. Make this remake!!!!

A Partners in Time remaster would never have saved them, and considering they remodeled all of the boss shroobs i assume they would have done the remake if they hadn’t gone bankrupt but they did Bowsers Inside Story first hoping as it was the more popular game it would do enough to save them
The reason I think they went with BIS was cause It sold much better than PIT

Ugh the 3ds bowser's inside story is so ugly. The music is worse and everything is slower like the Special Attacks.
Atleast the only thing that made this remake better is Dark Star and Dark Fawful having their own battle themes.
