Basically he said “born a slave and now a king” being born a slave you can’t become king because the king needs to have a royal blood in their body they also can’t have a scar on their body, because it needs to be clean. So this is his way of telling us that it was a struggle to become a king from being a slave with all those conditions tying him down.

    • @dimaramchund8785

And if you tied it up my opinion of course with the korean industry, BTS was one of the underdog group whose fate was pre-determined to fail by the industry.
Defying all odds they raised now became the crown jewel of kpop industry.
I think BTS still struggle, as many people can't accept that they are the one who became so famous since you know how there are many groups who was so famous at that time that it would be more logic for them to acquire that fame than BTS.
Thus the analogy that even if they were a slave having scar from working hard they were able to become king so now its time to bow down you like or not.

This song is related to the story of King Gwanghae. It is a famous history in Korea. According to the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty, there is a rumor that a clown with the same face as the king lives outside the castle one day. The king is sick for a certain period of time and his personality changes after that. By matching the record, Koreans are now making dramas and movies with the imagination that the king and clown changed roles. Also, the way of speaking used in the song cannot be translated, but the way of speaking in the old Joseon was used a lot. For example, "hitting him right away" does not simply mean to cut off the person's neck, but is often used in historical dramas as a nuance that occurs when the ruling class yells at criminals or subordinates in anger.
i think this translated little bit wrong but this is my best🙏

According to what I've seen from a couple of Koreans, that's actually not true. He's descended from the relative of a Korean Empress, but she married the king and that's how she became Empress. Her family actually didn't have royal blood. They were on a show called "Knowing Brother" and it came up because one of the guys on the show has the same last name but Yoongi's clan is of a higher rank. Yoongi looked it up before he went on the show and the fact that his family uses the "-gi" in their names confirmed it.

Daechwita (literally "great blowing and hitting") is a genre of Korean traditional music consisting of military music played by wind and percussion instruments, generally performed while marching. When the king leaves his palace, huge lines form and all the commoners and servants bow their heads. In front of him are people with horns and instruments playing a song to notify that the king has left his palace and is going for a walk. The beginning of this song is a sample from an actual Daechwita. The starting off of a Daechwita is done by a solo lead of "Jibsa (sort of a conductor)" singing "Myeong-Geum-Il-ha-daechwita-harabsinda", roughly meaning "let the Daechwita begin". The command is served by musicians responding "yeah- yee".

That's why he's like "Daechwita, Daechwita, play it louder, Daechwita." He's literally saying play the music louder, he (the king) is stepping out/arriving. 👑👑👑

Daechwita plays to inform the people that the king is doing his rounds or is going out of his place/palace for a walk. So this is just basically Agust D saying *"Daechwita, play it loud, King Agust D has arrived."*

대츼타 is a "military" march composed by several wind and percussion instruments. This march announces and accompany the king on his visit around the town. The main instrument on this parade is also call 대츼타. The traditional song at the beginning of the MV is the 대츼타 itself.
There is a youtuber (Liryonni) that also explains really well all the cultural and historical background of the whole MV. It is so worth it to check it out, if you love Korean culture.

The song could make reference to a film called Masquerade, where the king Gwanghaegun uses a joker that looks exactly the same as him to replace him, since his live was threatened. But eventually, his impostor takes control, and the king tries to take his power back.
Also, a detail that most people is unaware of:
In the MV, we see Yoongi with royal clothes, yes, but they are not the king's.
If you look at the dragon's claws in the gold circles, you can see it has 4 fingers.
    5 fingers = king
    4 fingers= prince
    3 fingers= king's grandson
So, basically, maybe the REAL KING is taking back his throne?
    A little bit of background:
In fact, Gwanghaegun is mentioned in the lyrics. He was a "genius" king, very smart, and did a lot for his people, he was respected and achieved something that could look impossible.
He was the second son of many wifes that his father, the previous king, had, so it was very unlikely for him to inherit the throne... still, he gained his father and people's favor, and since the king died when his first heir was only 3 years old, Gwanghaegun took the throne.
He was respected and his laws were in favor of the people, yes... but he was ruthless as well, even trying to kill his own little brother that was a threat to his throne. So... yeah, the kind of "off-with-their-heads" guy.
Sorry for any grammar mistakes! I also posted this on the previous video in response to someone talking about the royal clothes!

Suga said that in Daechwita, focus more on the visuals of the MV than the lyrics.
So in Daechwita basically this king yoongi is so full of himself, killing whoever he wants, litteraly stepping on his people, then this other yoongi drove to his palace, and basically the king yoongi was having none of it and decide to kill him. It was the slave yoongi that was blindfolded. But it was the king who was blind.
Then at the end you will see that yoongi didn't get killed, the king Yoongi's people betrayed him, and helped slave yoongi.
No matter how powerful the king was. His sword was no match for the slave's Gun.

2:34 Daechwita literally means "The Great Hit" and is the marching tune for when royalty has a procession, especially like a welcome to a King, back in the Joseon dynasty. The sample in the beginning is an authentic Daechwita.
Note: I think this wasn't a diss track aimed at anyone in particular but to a group of people. If the shoe fits.

as to what daechwita means: Daechwita is a traditional form of Korean music which used to be played upon a kings arrival meaning to show off the kings power. Basically yoongi's song is about how he went from rags to riches and now they should play Daechwita wherever he goes so that haters know who's king.
(i got it off twitter. cred to op)

Daechwita is a tradicional korean song that was played when the king got out of the castle and did his roundings throughout the city, kinda like a parade to warn the people (to prepare and to bow) and i read that was also used in the army, but i dont know for sure. Also, the intro of this song until the first chorus is the Daechwita itself. I translate the chorus like "Warn everyone, the king is coming, play it loud, the king is coming (bow to him)."
One more thing Gwanghee was a korean king, he is know for being very violent and for killing a lot of people.
(sorry for my english, is not my first language)
