Synopsis:
Tootle and Katy Caboose meet the newest crane at Fausten and offer to help them out when a breakdown puts them out of work. But when Katy breaks loose and runs off by accident, it becomes a full-speed adventure across the tracks! Can they save each other before they crash off the track?

DIRECTOR'S NOTES:
Well, this episode took a hell of a lot longer to finish than planned, didn't it?
Loose Caboose had a pretty interesting production history; beyond the obvious inspiration of both finally introducing Tootle and Katy's dynamic and playing around with Katy's "loose" origins, this was originally planned back in 2019 for a tentpole DVD that ultimately never happened. Originally set during an arc involving Inkblotia Castle, the never-finished story (not even getting past a paragraph and a bit of outlining) was eventually salvaged and ended up being the first script penned of what became Season 2 that was written with another writer! Mika and I finished this around September 2020 or so, but sat in the backburner as the format, models, and voices were worked on.
Camanida (along with the redesigned Fausten we revealed a couple years back) was designed back in 2018, and ended up evolving quite a bit from their initial design (they almost ended up being a tower crane on rails!), and ended up fitting into the idea for the story I presented to Mika! She ended up bringing out a really fun script with what was developed and made for some incredibly fun set pieces for hands down the most ambitious episode since Tillie to the Rescue!
Originally, I was going to finish this ep on my own with Sooty already assisting on some major scenes for a June 2023 release....but doing two-and-a-half episodes and a bushel of shorts did a number on me. This episode would not have been possible nor made the December deadline we set ourselves without the INCREDIBLE work of Nascar, Toony, Lachie, and Sooty (and the rest of the cast and crew) who made this episode both possible and even better than I imagined. Immensely proud of this crew and what we're brewing next!

This definitely feels like one of your magnum opus-es. So many locations, character interactions, and cameos from every show that's ever been in Crotoonia - very much worth the wait for an episode with a scope this big! I also don't think I've ever mentioned that I love the new tradition of the "storybook" opening and a musical montage in every episode. Love the 2D animation bits from thomasfan101, love the new score from WisteriaBirdStudios, all the voices suit the characters so well, and excellent animation from all the animators - you and the crew really pulled out all the stops for this one.

Hey Milan you want to hear something interesting about the Plonsters? The show features three small supple young children, the Plonsters. They are Pliff (the green plonster), who likes to do practical jokes, Plops (the blue plonster) who is the cranky one and Plummy (the orange plonster) who is the cheerful one. They can morph themselves into anything, and their language is some kind of gibberish and some that are coming into this show is going to probably be spoken by Gordon's Voice. The plot of the show is usually that Pliff and Plops play all kinds of pranks on Plummy, but he gets back at them every time, and every episode ends with the three of them playing together peacefully.

I love this series but I've never been able to get over the absolute aesthetic whiplash of seeing Thomas, Chuggington, and various other characters from the other anthropomorphic train franchises together in the same setting.

Katy The Loose Caboose was another fun episode with a great moral attached. I really love the mix between 2D animation with the MMD animation, it really helps fill out the world of Crotoonia a whole lot. The voice acting is really great as well and the animation of Katy’s runaway was so great in all aspects of expressiveness, music, camera work, voice acting and cameos etc. With all kind of bumps that happened as well, the cartooniness of it all was amazing! Very fun episode all around. Definitely worth the wait!

Crazy seeing this released, we’ve all been waiting for it until this moment, mainly because of Lester making his debut to Crotoonia.
I was just then to go to sleep until this episode dropped, nd this was certainly a fun one. Tootle and Katy were fun, Kamita seems like a interesting character that has a lot of potential for some unique stories, and the runaway and humor was really good (as well as the song)! Overall this was a fun episode!

That was so fun, when it comes to this series it is always so fun seeing what characters are working in the background and counting how many from that franchise you can recognize and wonder where those not so familiar characters came from. definitely a fun story as always Milan. Can’t wait to see what comes next. this fun CGI world is quite charming.

Words can not describe how happy this episode made me, and I seriously loved all the cameos like Alex and Lester.
