Why didn't you used the original injectors, fuel rail and pressure regulator from the itbs? I'm trying to put together the same setup (cis-e finally give up and components are hard to find and expensive too) any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
well, I had those injectors 360ml/min for free, 20v fuel rail and FPR is easy to find parts and G60 injector inserts fit 16v manifold without problem, there must be reason why car manufacturers put injector close to intake valves :) and finally I believe injectors close to valves are easyer to tune (accel/decel). GSXR injectors were kinda small for me, cos I used E85 for some time..
@@2swe2 you did great job I got a golf mk4 2.0 8v I want to do the same that you did with throttle body the question is ¿can i use the same injectors rail from my own engine ¿should i modifie the computer or not my car has maf sensor in the air filter sistem what can i do ¿should eliminate my maf sensor ..please i need help Thanks..
dude... sweet build!..... i´m about to start in a scirocco mk1 project.... planning to get an ABA 16v engine.... and throw some itb set like yours and.. some MS.... i see u used a 1.8t fuelrail and som 3 bar FPR..... any other important hardware to know about?.... thanx and again GREAT car!
Eric Timan It depends on your budget and skills, if your budget high you can go with jenvey or badger5 DTH (direct-to-head), if your budget low, you can adapt some bike or car throttle bodies (bmw, toyota). I started with OEM distributor and coil, then I used EDIS some time, later I got rid of EDIS and used edis coil pack alone driven by 2 BIPs. Now I'm running sequential COPs - VAG 07k905715F, it's final stage, I don't plan anything new :)
Hello, I intend to install in my car (ABF engine) the set of Kavasaki ZX10R or Suzuki GSXR70 throttle bodies but here in Brazil the information is scarce. So I would like to know how to make the input collector that connects the itb to the head. I also don't know the ideal location for the air temp sensors and the map sensor. I saw that there is an engineering company in England that sells the ready-made kit for the ABF engine, but it is very expensive. Is it possible to provide some information? Thanks.
Well, as you can see in my pictures, I cut part of lower intake manifold and welded alu tubes, and used silicone hoses to connect throttle bodies. its is not the most beautifull solution, but it is easy, cheap and works well last 10 years :) Years ago I build myself a carbon intake manifold (watch my other vids) I placed my intake temp sensor into the neck where air enters the manifold. the sensor is actually a very small 3mm thermistor so it reacts fast and I have no heatsoak problems. manifold pressure sensor is physically located inside the megasquirt ecu, but you have to run hoses from each runner, connect them together using T-es, then run single hose to the MAP sensor..
Heyy, nice work and few questions: What is the diameter of the intake tubes, throttle body? What kind of throttle bodys? Aftermarket, or from some kind of car?
nice... just a quick question or 2, stock cams or not? if not, what are the specs? just curious... I don't have one of these just wanted to know if it got 189 on the stock engine with just ITBS or if there were cams + headwork etc. thanks, & cheers!
thank you very much for your answer, I did the same editing on an ABF and I'm falling on your video and suddenly it is what seemed to me that the injection ramp is 1.8T and the injectors are also 1.8T? thank you
+Martin Vrba awesome. definitely a trick that's going in my toolbox. getting ready to do an r1 carb setup. not quite the same as you with itb's, but being able to do my own stacks would be nice to mitigate fuel standoff and get just a little more out of my setup
jetta2glx crank sensor ? do you mean that strange thing bolted over crank pulley ? yes, it was hall sender I removed from distributor, and used it on crank some time, worked well, but I was not sure about durability :) now I'm running 36-1 wheel and hall sensor.. 1,8 stock KR bottom end, 2,0 ABF head P&P, cca 11:1 CR
kimgulle I found original spacers, they are 20mm long, you need 28mm long spacers, suzuki throttle bodies are 80mm center-to-center, vw 16v and 20v heads are 88mm.
my machinist made them for me, one side (wider) is eccentric to match the throttle bodies, the other side was made round, then squeezed to oval shape to match bottom side of OEM manifold, everything is welded together.
thank you.
there is something new like 36-1 trigger wheel, EDIS, ABF P&P head, adjustable cam pulley....
still in progres :)
different look, different sound and of course some more power :)
I'm glad you like it :)
important hardware ? maybe ford EDIS ignition and 36-1 trigger wheel..
nice powerpoint presentation

@@ivanrodiivan9964 I'm not familiar with your engine, but I guess you can use OEM fuel rail and injectors.
you definitely need standalone ecu..

EDIS is gone, now I have 36-1 trigger wheel + hall sender + pair of BIP373 to fire the coilpack.
where can I find individual throttle bodies?
currently rebuilding a 16valve 139hp machine. And what kind of ignition system did you use?

Cool, you don't happen to have skype or something so it's easier to discuss? :)
Eric Timan No, I don't use skype or fb..
+Martin Vrba oh well, any idea where I could get my hands on different ready made parts?
So what was the difference between the itb's and the manifold?

Heyy, nice work and few questions:
What is the diameter of the intake tubes, throttle body?
What kind of throttle bodys? Aftermarket, or from some kind of car?
throttle bodies are from suzuki gsxr 750 98-99, they are tappered from 48 to 44mm with 46mm throttles.
Where kind of fuel rail is that?
nice rims bro
and the motor 2.0 16v 150hp of golf 3 ?
No probably a KR. The ABF would have over 200hp woth all the mods he has done
nice... just a quick question or 2, stock cams or not? if not, what are the specs? just curious... I don't have one of these just wanted to know if it got 189 on the stock engine with just ITBS or if there were cams + headwork etc. thanks, & cheers!
not to worry... I saw other videos of the build. looks like Schrick 268s and mild headwork.
139kW (189HP) @ 7430rpm
187Nm @ 5880rpm
I've no idea what you are talking about :)
what video time did you see it ?
aweome build
How many horsepower at the flywheel?
what is the injection ramp model? in any case super job
thanks, I'm glad you like it.
the fuel rail is a VAG 1,8 20VT part - 06A133317E
thank you very much for your answer, I did the same editing on an ABF and I'm falling on your video and suddenly it is what seemed to me that the injection ramp is 1.8T and the injectors are also 1.8T? thank you
I use some volvo 315cc @ 3bar injectors but with 4bar FPR, so they actually flow 360cc.

where did you get the form for the velocity stacks? I really like how they came out
I made it out of chipboard, polyester mastic and metalic paint

Is that a crank sensor?
What pistons and block are you running to get that hp?
And just for kicks is that a 1.8 or 2.0 head?
jetta2glx
crank sensor ?

Don't know jet, I will go to dyno after I run-in the engine...
What's the length of the spacers between the bodies? I'm doing the exact same conversion and it would help to know. :)
well, they are 8mm longer than gsxr ones.
2swe2 So you don't know the exact length of the spacers you have made?
Are they 8mm longer than the part of them that's short or long?
kimgulle I found original spacers, they are 20mm long, you need 28mm long spacers, suzuki throttle bodies are 80mm center-to-center, vw 16v and 20v heads are 88mm.
2swe2 Aaaah awesomeness. Thank you so much. Really dig your car as well. What engine block is it by the way? KR, 9A?
KR
VAG 1.8 20v
Nice build , what size and brand are you throttle bodies ? ?
suzuki gsxr 750 1998-99, they are tapered from 48mm on inlet side to 43-44mm on engine side, 46mm throttles.
okay , thanks ;)
where did you get the 4 adapters from the ITBs to the Manifold?
I"m not sure what you mean, those blue silicone couplers ?
aluminum. they slide into the intake manifold?
my machinist made them for me, one side (wider) is eccentric to match the throttle bodies, the other side was made round, then squeezed to oval shape to match bottom side of OEM manifold, everything is welded together.
wath conoression have?
wath modificatiin inti engine have yo done?
11:1, stock bottom end, skimmed and ported head, 268° schricks, ITB's, 4-2-1 exhaust manifold and megasquirt.
+Martin Vrba thank you
very nice example of a mk1 nice job 👍 pls check out our mk1 turbo build at 8 valve nation thx
