    So many warriors on TH-cam. I'm in the same area and have seen these decks last 10+ years already with no issues.
    Who's going to sit on their deck with it rains? Maybe a duck.
    I'd like to see someone close off the patio underneath and use t&g soffits with Trex or pt boards. How long with that deck last?
    Every product has their place and to each their own.

      People have no idea. Duradek is amazing and lasts for years. We wouldn’t install it if it was a constant problem.
      The guys who complain about it used a cheap third rate vinyl membrane made in China. Not Duradek.

      @@UnderdogWarrior its a roll of vinyl you guys use? The oy reason I question it is, i worked with vinyl in homes and it tears easier then other products but its cheaper. Putting it out side just sounds like a bad 💡 because it tears the sun then snow plus the rain plus wild life. I never seen deck vinyl im only going off home vinyl and if its the same theres no way in h#ll I would put that out side.

    I would never put vinyl floor on a deck. Slip hazard for water and ice. Dirt will pool up and look bad.
    And worst of all, one puncture now means that subfloor will rot, likely go unseen because of the vinyl, and cause a huge fall hazard and lots of damage before it's noticed and fixed.

      They have vinyl deck/roofing material. It usually comes in white. It’s called PVC vinyl. Seattle based ex roofer here.

      It will adhere for 20 years. The main distributor in our province has installed thousands of Sq Ft for more than 30 years. It’s impermeable so if you used a chemical based glue it would create gasses that would cause bubbles in the membrane

      PVC deck/roofing material usually comes in a huge roll and sometimes has an adhesive backing on it already. They’re normally installed on commercial buildings and comes in a white color.

And what follows wood that always stays wet... Hmmm, oh ya it's called rot!! Brilliant idea.. That's exactly what I want on my new ten thousand dollar deck. I had to show this to my husband that's been doing construction for over 35 years. He didn't even have words other than " they probably voted for Biden...

      @@Josh-ww5kz negative... Both of those products are put on a flat surface where there is no chance that a gap will cause a crack. No matter how tight you run your five quarter decking the seems are not flat and it will fail. Not to mention that it does not hold up to direct uv light at all.

    Bullshit. The vinyl is not water proof. Standing water will soak through in time and dissolve the water based glue. (When I've needed to strip up old vinyl I've soaked it I with water and covered it with blankets also soaked in water. In a day or so the vinyl is much easier to pull up. The tip off should have been when she said water based glue. The first area to fail will be the seam in the vinyl.
