Man what a build!! Ive been trying to do the Royal Blood tone as well, though with a simpler setup, where I use a Boss LS-2 to feed both the bass and giutar signal back into just one bass amp. Like youve mentioned at the beginning, this is one of the instances where a multi effect can live out its true potential on bass, Ive been thinking about getting the Boss GT-1000 or Line6 Helix. But Im still too attached to my "analog" pedals, Im thinking about getting the OBNE Signal blender so I can switch each loop seperately. Im trying to keep my board small and portable, but damn is this tempting to go all out.
I just completed my hybrid board with the Quad Cortex! I frontload the Quad Cortex with 2 fake guitar channels (all my pedals) and use 2 clean channels going to the QC for my bass tones. I can't recommend the QC enough if you're looking to enter the modeling game!
When you're demo'ing the pedals around the 7:50 mark, is that soley the guitar amp split (octaved +1) and each mastotron? Is anything else on during that?
🤘🤘 Awesome. I'm a drummer. I love sounds what you dig out. That's something I've never heard before. i found yours first video on youtube accitendally. I was lucky. I really like that bass and quitar on same package. Have we some name for this kind thing, mix Bass and quitar playing ? Keep going. BR; Ville from Finland. Promised Land of Heavy Metal
I don't have a name for it, but you should check out bands like Royal Blood and Cleopatrick! They use this strategy to sound really big with just two people!
What is your new gear? I love what you’ve done with your current system. I’ve been trying to do a Royal Blood pedalboard but haven’t completely nailed it yet.
Tell me what you've got on hand and maybe I can help! What amps and pedals do you have at your disposal? Once you have a few key things, and understand the formula, the possibilities are endless. You really can get by with an octave up pitch shifter, a fuzz, a tuner, and a guitar and bass amp!
@@echobassofficial I'm in a very strange world of pedals. My guitar player of many years passed away and left me everything he had. I have a Quad Cortex, Helix Floor, Strymon Iridium, Strymon Mobius, an assortment of interesting distortions, including Third Man Plasma Coil, 4 EHX Pitchfork+, 2 Boss PS6s, Reverbs, Echos, line selectors... also a RJM Mastermind and a couple of RJM FX Gizmos, an RJM PBC 6x, a DSM simplifier and Bass simplifier... the list goes on... only two amps: Fender Blues Jr. and a RedPlate Black Loop amp. Our band played without stage amps.. always direct into the PA. I have the basic assembly of bass pedals... It's all a lot of overkill for my old man brain.... Since my friend died, the drummer and I are thinking of an 'Old Man' Royal Blood Tribute. (check out Royal Dogs on Facebook. I'm looking for all the help I can get. ;)
@@TrickDogMitchell Wow! First of all, I am sorry for your loss. That must be very tough. Love that you're honoring a friend by looking for a use for the stuff he left you. No better band for a tribute, Royal Blood is the best in the business! It seems your friend left you quite the arsenal, equivalent to what Mike currently uses himself! I'm a bit unfamiliar with the RJM stuff, although I know they are very powerful and could do anything you wanted. How about this! I don't have any personal social media, but if you'd like to shoot me a DM on my future band's Instagram page (@beggarscanyon) I'd be more than happy to provide you my TH-cam channel email and establish a dialogue about what all you can do with that treasure trove! I looove helping people figure out Royal Blood style rigs and there's a lot of potential there! Hope to hear from you soon, Mitchell! And I can't wait to hear Royal Dogs tear it up! -Keaton
It's basically half the cost so sure lol! Would I prefer the Supersonic 22? Absolutely. A 2x12 is just going to sound bigger and in my opinion, better. It is what Mike uses, after all!
I would try to find some used newer Hot Rod Deluxes over the bass breakers. Mike has used HRD’s in the past and they’re much cheaper than Supersonic 22’s. I have 2 myself and they take these pedals greatly!

Sorry about your loss man. But yeah you're set. Even Mike uses a quad cortex is what I heard
do you feel that the 15w fender bassbraker is a good alternative to the fender supersonic 22?
