It’s lockstep purists like YOU who are so trapped in the 1990s that to you anything after DS9 and Voyager do not exist and that mindset will kill ALL STAR TREK FOREVER, not just the type you hate. You do have the right to not like something but Star Trek is supposed to be about optimism no matter how bad thing might seem, about celebrating our differences and working together in peace for a better life. How ironic then that you hypocritically reject everything Star Trek stands for by casting hate upon anyone and anything you disagree with
@@DancingRasputin just to nitpick, how can you say that star trek is supposed to be about optimism when Discovery is literally *and* metaphorically dark in nature? never in the history of Trek, even DS9 had such a bleak and dystopian look of the future.
@@thegoose1005 Discovery gets a helluva lot darker, that's for sure. But the darker the tunnel, the brighter the light at the end. They never give up, and they set aside their differences to build the road to tomorrow. Stardust here is absolutely right.

It wasn't cancelled. It did so well it singlehandedly propped up the entire streaming service and relaunched the franchise. The new ST shows are very expensive and only two full series can be in production at once. Getting five seasons in the modern streaming environment is an expected run for one show.
I'm surprised by the positive comments I've just watched the final episode of Season 2 and couldn't believe how bad it was. The effects were amazing but the story was a complete mess with so many stolen ideas and script constructs. It also had no flow or explanation of what was happening. When the klingons turned up with the other race it felt completely wrong to me. I shall continue watching Star Trek Discovery but have to say this for me is the second worst Star Trek series after Deep space Nine. It was by far the worse episode of Discovery I have seen. The only good thing was the way it ended did want me to continue watching as I wanted to see what happens next but I'm just not happy with the entertainment value of the episode itself.

As long as the data remained in the past, the potential future would still exist and could continue to send agents back in time to insure a version of Control got the data.
Moving the ship to the future instantly cut off the future timeline and insuring 23rd century Control was destroyed was extra insurance.
@@bluedotdinosaur They did try to destroy Discovery and therein the data, but it had control of the ship's systems and thus raised shields when the Enterprise fired torpedoes at it.
why did they go thru the thing even though leland was dead? did i miss something?
The thing about this event is that it reconciles everything that has already happened in the first 2 seasons with everything we already know about the pre-TOS era - i.e. Pike in command of Enterprise. Spock is his science officer. The Spore Drive doesn't exist. And so on.
Seriously. Motion Picture effect in the wormhole. Just saying.
So… is there any reason why Discovery had to go into the rift as well? Why not just send Burnham in?
because they were infected with the AI and went so far into the future so that it couldnt affect other systems than theirs iirc
Ficção ação e aventura muito bom!!!!
101 dalmatian street
Now thats the way to timetravel not by chance nor a fiery bird of prey burning into solar flames.
Alright, go space jesus
Should have been the end of the series. Why prolong it, just give it the bullet it's begging for.
well that clip was a snoozefest
I am fucking bereft yo

They should've sent this ship and show into a black hole. Wiped from existence and never to return.
Because of the darkness, ironically, Discovery practically conveys the message of optimism better. The world is crushing around them, but they still keep fighting to make the future a better place. They never give up, and they set aside their differences to build the road to tomorrow. Stardust here is absolutely right.
So why do you need wings in space?

So enemy defeated then why did they travel to the future? There was no purpose, all they had to do was destroy the ship.
Remnants of control was still present in Federation systems. They touched on that towards the end of the episode. They went to prevent any reoccurrence of control getting it's hands on the data
@@andromeda5414 so all they had to do was destroy the data
@@andromeda5414 still no reason to time travel
@@hoscat1395 They couldn't. They tried but the data protected itself. Therefore preventing it's deletion. The only option was to remove Discovery from the galactic equation entirely.
@@hoscat1395 They tried, but the data is indestructable except from being used,so they had to make this decision.
To each their own i guess
good riddance to bad rubbish!
and when you look at season 3 finale then compare...how dissappointing
Season 3 didn't end on a cliffhanger. But it didn't have to, because now the main task is to knit together the remnants of the Federation and then build something even better than before.
@@RolandThePaladin1 so there is a season 4?
@@Skybar23 Yes. They announced it when season 3 premiered.
Yeah, I don't think season 3 had nearly as cool an ending as 1 and 2. But I mean they couldn't do much to make it as breathtaking. I don't think I could have written anything better given the context.
come on Really I want real star trek writing back this aint it.
This show is awful. Glad it’s cancelled.
Disco is okey. Probably this season 2 is the best by far of any star trek. While it does not have that “nostalgic” star trek feels, i welcomed it with open mind. Nevetheless, i still rank still rank disco 2nd, tied with tos as tng and voyager tied for my 1st. Never saw ds9 and enterprise yet. Will have to do a marathon on those on netflix soon.
Mostly kiddies on TH-cam who get all giddy about special effects. Ooh, shiny explosions. Never mind that the story is hot fucking garbage.
"when the Klingons showed up with the other race" Hold on, did you pay any attention at all? Ash Tyler/Voq went back to L'Rell to request aid from L'Rell's fleet, and why wouldn't the Kelpiens want to come and help Saru?
listen, your ignorance of what's going on doesn't make it bad LMFAO
So a diverse wahman taught Spock how to 🖖? What a joke
Lol. Piss off, loser.
Discovery totally sucks tribble balls. How ever Strange New Worlds is totally fallowing Trek and is So much better.
