I want them to keep the same charm of having the characters talk to you on the menus. They could have the Zenos show up when you want to delete your data, Roshi and Whis on training (basics and advanced) etc etc

A what-if super story I like to see is
Gogeta vs merged Zamasu
tournament of power arc where Cell, Buu, or Broly are the 10th participants instead of Frieza
Battle of gods arc where Vegeta is chosen for the Ritual.
Torunament of power Arc But Goku is Ringed out by Jiren after the first time he gain ultra intstinct Omen. we play as Gohan who is left to fill his Farther’s shoes and facing people like Kefla, Toppo, Dyspo, and of Course Jiren. Universe 7 team starts to lose Badly losing the big heavy hitters like Vegeta, Frieza, and 17. which forces Gohan to push and break his limits as everything is now on him with the Final battle with Jiren, Gohan unlocks his Beast form to Beat him.
i hope they keep competitive/advanced movement techniques like dragon dash cancels, dash cancelling, and momentum dashing. i also hope they allow -1s (unavoidable blasts at certain ranges) but make it harder to get into that range (add better zoning capabilities for characters pretty much) or make the super attacks do less damage if you're too close and keep ultimate blast damage the same obviously
A and don’t forget a Z difficulty

A dragon ball budokai tenkaichi game without beam clashing won't be tenkaichi anymore..so that's definitely my number 1!!!

Tenkaichi 3 was easier to programm back in the day, so they could go haywire on the number of Characters, Modes, etc.
But nowadays?
Why would they even give us that much, when the game will sell regardless?
I would rather just have a updated port, than them shitting on the legacy of this series.
As someone who has only played Raging Blast 2, I'm hyped for BK4
If you liked raging blast then you’ll love Tenkaichi. I don’t know how to describe it but the combat in raging blast is a flatter version of the combat in Tenkaichi but still 90% similar. Essentially the same game though
totally agree about the characters. i want the characters that are NEEDED to cover the story mode for Z/DBS, then i would rather them focus on gameplay and other game modes than have a bunch of characters from DB and GT. movie characters would be cool too

I think it's possible than they make character rooster similar to XenoVerse 2 (with DLC'S) number of fighters, and probably even a pair more, because I don't believe than GT saga gets out of the base game, especially SSJ4 Goku, Vegeta and Gogeta.
Also, I really wish not only the OG 5 v 5 classic battles, I want another game modes to fight in team like the Tenkaichi tag team, XenoVerse and kakarot, and my dream is basically other game mode, one tournament like the others but based in tournament of power, a long massive battle, 10 fighters by team (in online one fighter by player, like a Fortnite squad, for example, but with 10 players), 8 maximum teams fighting simultaneously in an Giant area, (imagine if you can hide between the rubble and literally reduce your ki, and the rest of fighters can detect you (similar to XenoVerse, but only than here it works for you), with team ultimates, like Vegeta's final Flash, Goku's Kamehameha, Gohan masenko, and Picoolo makankosapo), obviously this ultimate point, one TOP game mode online/offline isn't an requirement but I really like the idea.
There is no chance we get anywhere near that number at launch or with dlc. Tenkaichi 3 had 98 characters with 161 forms. This is only possible due to the lower quality models and the heavy reuse of animations. Tenkaichi 4 is likely not going to do this. If I had to guess, the launch roster is going to be no more than 70 characters with around 15 dlc. I would be shocked if we got over 90 characters, let alone 200.
I would also like to point out that the more characters we get, the less love is going to be put into each character. They would all play identical with no unique movesets, combos or animations. And as a giant dragon ball, that would be very disappointing. (I dont care about sibamen or chotsu. I just want to see vegeto ssjss epic fight gogeta ssjss. 😞)
If that’s the case me and a lot of other people will be dissatisfied

so the issue I have with the gameplay section (from 4:50 to around 9:00) is that a majority of these things are already in games like Raging Blast 2. So why does Tenkaichi feel different?
I'd argue that it was the freedom of both movement and offensive/defensive options. Without the movement freedom, you have RB2. Without the offensive/defensive options, you have Tenkaichi 1. Just based off of the points listed here, it is possible to make a game that doesn't feel like Tenkaichi.
The characters need to be able to move fast in any direction, with a slower Step-In area at close-range just the way that Tenkaichi 2-3 did it. Tenkaichi flanking is what 90% of a competitive match consists of, flanking in this case meaning getting the positional advantage. You need to be able to quickly switch the person with the upper hand by using one good teleport, you need each offensive choice to have multiple defensive responses, with advantages and drawbacks. The combos themselves, in my opinion, aren't the main reason why Tenkaichi feels so good.
Speaking of combos, however, Tenkaichi's combo system is also unique. Each technique you listed (Rolling Hammer, Flying Kicks, Kiai Cannon etc) aren't their own combo string. Unlike Xenoverse, Tenkaichi only has one real combo string. Rushing Techniques (which is what the game calls those) aren't jsut heavy attacks, they let you extend the one combo string with one additional effect (Rolling Hammer turns the opponent around, Flying Kicks are high attacks and can be used to implement Ki Blasts into the combo, Kiai Cannon knocks the opponent away).
Then you've got stuff like counters and different counter types, ascending ki blasts, different ki blast types, the Z-Counter, the dash cancels and other sliding mechanics, these are all a part of Tenkaichis identity.
yeah I definitely should've had a more detailed commentary on that. Only comp players will appreciate that though, I was targeting a general audience
GT can be a later DLC, so is the original dragon ball, but super and Z and z films characters have to there since day one
Your wish list is perfect. It's really said everything a fan of the BT series would want.
Hand on heart, BT4 just has to become like BT3. gameplay and co. must be perfect. but the roster will not reach 100% that of BT3, but you can expand that very well with DLCs. but gameplay and co.? this has to be perfect from day 1, otherwise the game will be disappointing.
I also think SDBH content would be cool as a nice addition. after most of the main characters and forms have been added, of course.
just imagine... SSJB Goku VS Vegeta with the classic BT soundtrack in the background. this is going to be a banger! the new soundtrack should also be cool.

Thanks for appreciating that we need super roster mainly. Minimal copy paste characters, details mean a lot.
We also need a tag team mode based on the psp version. If you played it, you know. Makes multiplayer a lot more interesting.
Goes without saying we want the same mechanics as in Tenkaichi 3, maybe some more combat mechanic like they added between 1, 2 and 3. As long as they work. That's what game testers are for.
They also could add more accurate physics and better transitions. They always change where you are in the map after certain special moves which isn't a big deal.
I would be happy if they made a functional tag team mode
We have to have character customization, raging blast had it and those games are basically tenkaichi 4 and 5
And the failed fusions would literally be extra characters to design so no way

Thank you for the video. This is a game that I didn't think would happen but am so happy that it is, going off the reveal trailer and it showing gameplay from the original trilogy I'm hoping that means gameplay will be close to that. I've been playing Dragon Ball Z games since Budikai 1 on GameCube when I was little. I'm a big offline gamer so I'm hoping for either a big story mode or a mode like In raging blast where you pick a character and do select battles. Would love tournament modes and it's variations. A good amount of maps specifically Kamis Lookout, Islands and Space. I'm hoping that the cpu difficulty is good. I want them to keep like in your gameplay where you can pick up to 5 characters and fight another 5. I'm ok with DLC, if you look what Bandai has been doing with Xenoverse 2, DBZ Kakarot, Shinobi Striker, releasing a game and using it as a base to grow is the style their rolling with and I think that's the plan for this one, but I want a good sized roster, Z and Super there's enough there for a good sized roster at launch, but I do get the graphics are insane and these things take time. At the end of the day im just so thankful this is even happening

Despite all the DBZ games that have come out over the years, BT1 has the most badass and authentic Intro of all of DBZ games of the Franchise. BT2 and BT3 in my opinion still remains the most Unique and the best DBZ games in terms of content, quality and fanservices. And from the gameplay perspective aspects, these DBZ games that I mentioned are very close to the anime itself because of the Vibe and Charm, I don't know how to describe it but it was, and still is the most Unique DBZ experience you could have with the combat factor. (- Sheer amount de of characters
- Transformations mid-battle (powering up and down)
- Fusions mid-battle
- Fast gameplay that has that "woah" feel
- Tons of extra content
- Story mode covering all sagas + movies
- What If sagas
- Shenron having permanent impact on game (character unlocks and whatnot)
- Great tournaments that rotate availability
- Edit characters with items (buffs)
- 5v5 battles
- Really Great and Epic Soundtracks
- Destroyable environments
- Entire stages could be blown up into their "destroyed" alternatives
- Mission 100 being a great challenge
- Artwork is 10/10
- Sound effects are great
- Combat feels heavy and satisfying) Only Budokai 3, Infinite World and the Raging Blast 1 and 2 and all of PSP DBZ games except of Dragon Ball Z Evolution are still considered also very solid DBZ games, also the hidden gem that a lot of DBZ fans missed from PS2 Era of DBZ games is "Super Dragon Ball Z" which is also a real Unique and DBZ game, especially for the different gameplay aspects perspective.
It easily has the potential to be the best Dragon Ball game ever

the amount of slots used makes no difference in anything tbh bro. They would still have to make those characters and give them moves and stuff the only difference being that they wouldn’t be selectable individually which I think a lot of people would be upset about.

Would you rather have a lot of characters but some similarity between them or a few with all unique moves?
I would rather have a lot of them with some similarities. Tenkaichi 3 characters were similar but its considered the best DB game of all time. Ideally we would be able to get a lot of characters who all feel unique. All I know is that if they don’t have at least 100 characters at launch including transformations, people will be really disappointed. 112 is the number I came out with when picking my characters I think are necessary just to tell the story of Z and Super alone.

The beginning intro I agree with so much of what Vegeta's doing but also please for the love of Neptune give us some badass vibey music like the good old BT2 series had and not the music BT3 had as it was mid... The amount of characters we can get is beyond my imagination.

I'm fine with dlc. If XenoVerse 2 can last for a long time why not Budokai Tenkaichi 4? I just hope they choose wisely on the base roster selection. Nobody will want to buy Raditz, Nappa, Dr. Gero and Guldo as dlc for example.

Takes a lot more time and money to make a cell shaded character than it did using a model for the ps2. The 112 character roster for launch I edited into the video had a lot of good characters

I would like that but I feel like it’s a little unrealistic to expect them to add a fully open world story mode I think they’re gonna focus on other aspects though I would be happy if they did that

Its rather questionable if bt4 will have loadingscreen minigames as I guess with loadtimes nowadays they are close to none anyways so whats the purpose investing time and resources into this instead of menu artworks for example

DONT RELEASE THE FUCKN GAME UNTIL ITS COMPLETELY DONE 4:36 bought the game for 60 or 70 just to have to pay another 19.99 for the rest of the story🙄 that's why game developers so lazy nowadays they know fans will buy unfinished product and be cool with all the patches u put on later and all the dlc paid content that just finished the rest of the story its greedy
If you watched the whole video you would know that the content I want in the game at launch is going to take them even more time to create than it did when they made the original tenkaichi games. I’m not saying it’s okay for them to release basically a demo. They need to put a lot of love in it and I know that. I asked for 112 characters at launch, all the same game modes with ultimate battle mode, Online/Offline Tournament modes, Online/Offline Duel Modes, Evolution Z, Dragon Library, Summon Shenron and 2 dragon history sagas that I said I wanted to be detailed. That’s a lot of content man especially if you think about how long it’s gonna take them to do all the animations for those characters and giving them costumes, unique interactions, ultimate attack and transformation cinematics, etc. If they focus on Z and Super then those sagas will have a lot of content where as if they try to cram everything in then we’ll only have like 3 fights per saga. When they released tenkaichi they only had a 70 character roster. I’m asking for damn near 50 more playable characters then that. And the old model where they released a new version of the game every year is not that much different then supporting one game for several years through dlc. A new game every year is basically a glorified dlc. You’re still paying 60 bucks every year for more content on what is essentially the same game. You will spend a little bit more on DLC but in terms of money spent it’s not that different at all. DLCs give them damn near a 10 year window to build up the game so the end product will be better than 3 games releasing in 3 years. Unless you want to wait 5 more years for the game lmao. And I don’t think 3 dlc characters should be 20 dollars, thatd be bullshit. It should be like 20 dollars buys you all of the movie characters and movie dragon history content. Something like that

I agree with you that it’s wrong for companies to operate like that but the reality is we live in a capitalist society, and nothing short of the abolition of capitalism will stop capitalists from ruthlessly pursuing profits. That is their goal first and foremost. They aren’t just making a great game to try to entertain people and I don’t even support the existence of these entities. The issue you are highlighting is one that roots back to the foundation of our society. But this is the state we’re in, and discussions about video games will continue to happen in this format because of it. If you want to abolish the evils of capitalist society then go organize, don’t complain about it on TH-cam😂.
DLC for online games make sense. Keeps the online servers active. Though I do agree DLC for single-player is pointless.

It sounds like to me you don’t want Tenkaichi, you want a new game. It’s still a Tenkaichi game. The difference between 2 & 3 should be the same as the difference between 3 & 4. The same game, just with more content. Don’t fix what isn’t broken. Raging Blast is very similar to Tenkaichi, but it wasn’t what the community wanted to the point that we don’t consider it as a new tenkaichi game even though that’s what it was meant to be. The same thing will happen to this game if they don’t stick to the formula people want. We want Tenkaichi 4 not raging blast 3
