      Incorrect on 2 counts. Registering to vote is not compulsory. There are many Australians who have never registered.
      Once you have registered you must either lodge an absentee ballot or attend a polling place to have your name struck off the register.
      The ballots you receive must be placed in the respective boxes. You can place blank ballots into the box if you wish, making your vote informal.

    Woolworths self checkout has installed cameras and they ask if you’ve emptied your trolley. I had stuff in mine that I’d purchased elsewhere, and it kept asking me if I’d emptied my trolley. Hunstmans can flatten down significantly because In the wild, huntsman spiders shelter and rest under the bark of gum trees. They do not use webs to entrap and ambush prey, but rather actively hunt at night. When they get into houses they often shelter behind pictures or other wall hangings. They sometimes shelter in the nooks and crannies of automobiles as well which is a real shock when they suddenly dart out when disturbed by driving!

    The idea that 'boomers' are doing well is a fallacy. I'm a 49 year-old disabled man living with "boomer" elderly parents. Although they own their own home, they are not "making bank off the interest hike and spending huge amounts of money in the consumer economy". My mother has dementia and we live week to week, relying on our pensions to support ourselves. Our budget is stretched to breaking point by increases in electricity and other utilities, and day to day expenses. Neither my mother, who worked as a teacher for 45 + years, nor I have any superannuation left. I worked as a Fitter until my late 30's. Because most of the medications that I require aren't covered by the PBS, I'm spending over $400 - $450 a month on prescribed medications alone. I believe the real problems are company superprofits, the price-setting powers of major companies, exorbitant corporate salaries and administrative costs in bloated, inefficient, top-heavy organisations, and demands of shareholders in an economy that lacks fair competition. Larger mineral and resource companies receive tax concessions. The lack of industrial diversity also contributes to the impact of market shocks. When state and federal governments can afford to pay bureaucrats $1m salaries and cover their turgid individual expenses while funneling billions a year into flawed schemes like 'Robodebt', no one should be struggling.

    The federal reserve Australia's central bank has already said Australia's unemployment rate needs to be 4.5%, think it's about 3.6% at the moment. Not sure about this sure someone will correct me, I heard in the US the home loan is on the property you can hand the keys in and walkway. In Australia the loan is on the person, so if you lose the property your still on the hook for the loan until the debt is payed off.

    • @daveg2104
      @daveg2104 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It just depends on the type of loan you get. You can get a personal/unsecured loan for a house purchase? OK. But for the average person in both countries, that will be a mortgage. There are slight differences in how things work, but basically the same. A mortgage is a legal agreement that conveys the conditional right of ownership on a real estate property by its owner (the mortgagor) to a lender (the mortgagee) as security for a home loan. I suppose if you somehow engaged in some sort of shenaniganry, they may come after you personally. But generally, if you fall behind on your payments, and don't rectify it by the date on the notice of default, then the lender may repossess the property and sell it in order to recover the debt.

    A wanker is someone who likes to pleasure themselves by their own hand and suggests also someone who likes to pleasure themselves by acting trendy for the sake of getting the pleasure felt from admiration for their being ahead of the trend with the latest "thing'" or whatever to come along, whether it is the best, worst or mid. I've always thought that maybe the American term of " a jerk off " meant the same things, but I'm not too sure.

    Because voting in Australia is compulsory for all enrolled voters over the age of 18, Australia operates pre poll voting allowing people who may be unable to vote on the actual day for one reason or another (work, leaving the country etc). It's not restricted to those who can't attend though, anyone can pre poll vote, so many people do it simply to try to avoid lining up on the day. That's how someone has a photo of a ballot already. I have already voted by post, I applies for a ballot paper when they announced the referendum date. They sent me the form I filled it out and have sent it back. Pre poll centres have opened to give people a chance to vote if the cannot do so on the 14th. All voting in Australia is compulsory and you are fined if you don’t vote. At polling booths you get your name crossed off the roll when you arrive and you are handed your ballot paper ( what you do with it after that is up to the person!!) postal votes are put in an envelope and then placed in another envelope with your details on it - this is separated from your vote when the electoral commission receives it and you are recorded as having voted
